Emotional abuse and verbal abuse are extremely normalised forms of domestic violence. Controlling the daily life of women from clothing to friends circle, monitoring phone and social media activity, constantly insulting and undermining self-esteem, using degrading words and restricting mobility are some of the many ways in which perpetrators control and abuse their partner or family member emotionally and verbally.
