It's not that I find it particularly difficult, it's just that I find it so... time consuming. I typically save this until I have investors on Crown Falls, and by that time - there's *ALWAYS* something more important to do than get an airship. Like, plant trees or something.

The trade route trick of setting a minimum stock and then onload/offload to chain multiple destinations with the same goods slot is slick. That's so useful to streamline trade routes and minimize the number of ships zipping around (which helps eliminate the waiting for an open dock!) Thanks for the tips!

Can anyone tell me whats better about this then say: I pick up 120t on production island and drop of 30 per destination (4 destinations total)? Without declaring a minimal stock anywhere.
@skoniramont
@skoniramont 8 месяцев назад
@@VideosOfSumit I'll try: In your scenario, if one island does'nt need all the product it overflows at some point, the ship then doesnt pick up 120at the production island, because it didn't even get rid of the 120 on its round. If an island after the full one needs more than 30 per round of the ship, it wont get enough, even when your ship and production island overflows. I use that system in the new world too. Ships going in circles with the basic needs of Jornaleros, distributing them evenly on every island. Goods that are always plentyfull I get rid of at a last stop at Isabelles. (without a pickup) That way on small Islands I don't even need some product chains, and on others the bigger population can easily take the burden for the not producing islands. WIth the first approach you'd have to count, which island needs how much - tedious, and everystime you change something with the population, youll have to count again. With the on/off-minimal Stock method, it balances itself out most of the time, and if not, its easily adaptable by adjusting the minimal stock.

That was really helpful. I agree with the others who mentioned the slick effect of the multi trade routes, and also the request for something similar for Enbesa. The only bad thing about videos like this is that it shows me how much I need to go back and re-do my main game in order to make it function more efficiently!

I wasn;t paying attention (and not having seen your guide ofc!) and Princess Qing and Bente snatched some islands and plateous before me. I tried buying the shares off them, but eventually Qing got mad lol and she just obliterated my whole fleet militarily 🤭 so I had to go back to earlier game save. Now I only have 2 gas plateaus and 3 islands. These will have to do.

Playing Anno since it’s available, yet every time I watch your videos I learn something new! Thank you! Btw, the evening before I just finished the first airship and stopped playing then. So, after watching this, I started the game and took all islands asap: not a minute to late as just at the last island I was only seconds earlier then the a AI opponent.

Its been a year, many more new features since then. I got to say that, one might play 1 session for years it seems like. Its like never ending struggle to get everything you need and set up your city so its nice looking AND streamlined. That bit is tedious AF. Its like a worst form of tetris to fiddle around with all the buildings!

@lkar4ik
@lkar4ik 3 месяца назад
Anno 2205 is really deep , but becase it was experimental , it was really raw So no one could experince this or because their brain rotted at the moment, or bc they left game almost after start Also the 1404 has the few interesting mods that allow you to experience a lot more than in vanilla game The downside is actually quite annoying- you run must run this mods on supercomputer to have more than 40 fps, or only one (like not to run together map increaser and new regions mods)

I find the arctic region an easy and enjoyable region. Nothing gives more joy than an "only +2 workforce over the goal on an plateau" :-D 2 main islands with 2 support islands can support all 4 plateaus. 3 main islands do it easily. Also i think, that the coal you get from the arctic is enough for all the heat you need here. So no coal support from the old world. With the "white lady" you can ship coal from Trelawny as well, if you want it really. There is no big difference between Old World and Trelawny with this ship.

A little advice would be good for me at this point. I followed the guide. Grabbed all the islands in the arctic, built up the first one and got the airship hanger built. Then it came to gas. I don't have any so cannot build my first airship. Natt sends me off to a random island to pick up 80 tonnes of gas. Wonderful! I get there with a ship to pick it up for it to be dumped in the harbour and only pick up 5 tonnes. So at this point I am 35 tonnes short of being able to get airborne. Any advice guys?

Hi I am following your latest 1 mil pop videos and got to the point where I needed to come watch this one for gas. I am a little confused with the Plateau set up. I have got enough Technicians now, but when I demolish the over population like you did, my Technician numbers drop because I don't have the workers in the Post Office. You have a Post Office but no workers....am I missing something?
@TakaYouTube

This guide was made before Empire of the Skies came out. When EotS is active, the arctic post offices need 40 explorers for workforce now. So you'll need a few explorer homes on the plateaus.

What island difficulty are you playing on? Since that would increase the artic flu chances?
@TakaYouTube

A handful of ranger stations is all you need... On the plateaus it's almost negligible with stations and a couple of items that I recommend in the video. At most you have a flu outbreak that lasts for maybe 30 seconds and then it's over.

After struggling with the Arctic, I watch this and the answer is: avoid building in the Arctic anything not absolutely necessary. Building up the first island by locally producing everything was just taking way to much space, mainly for supporting the work force needed to build the supplies you just bought/imported.

Wouldn't it be easier to just unload goods and wait for the wharehouse to fill up? Especially in the artic where the wharehouses are quiet small?
@TakaYouTube
@TakaYouTube 2 года назад
You mean use the wait to unload option? I never used that. It ties up a pier or trading post for however long it takes for the ship to unload everything it has on it. Consumption of some goods is fairly low and it could sit there for up to 15 minutes. Coastal space in the Arctic is premium and You don't really want to take up a lot of space with things like piers. Every person I've ever seen that uses the wait to unload option always ends up having lots and lots of piers everywhere to deal with the constant backlog because of ships just sitting there.
@chaliechaplin137
@chaliechaplin137 2 года назад
@@TakaRU-vid no that's not what i meant! When you set up the trade route you just tell the ship (or airship) to unload everywhere you need, but without loading them again. And because you are overproducing the good you're dropping, eventually, the wharehouse of the first island of the trade route will fill up. And so the ship won't be able to unload every thing and is going to unload the rest at the next island!^^
@TakaYouTube
@TakaYouTube 2 года назад
Oh you're talking about picking up and dropping off the same good(s) at one destination and then continuing on? It's just an alternative method to doing exactly what you're saying. The difference is in where you control how much is being left on the island. With your method, you do it directly in the trade route menu and with mine it's controlled at the warehouse.
@chaliechaplin137
@chaliechaplin137 2 года назад
@@TakaRU-vid Still not what i meant!! 😂😂 Imagine doing exactly the same thing you did on the video, but you just don't pick up the good from the island where you drop them... (and you don't need to set up a minimum amount in the wharehouse) Let's say we have one island to supply two others The ship pick up the goods at the supplying island. It goes to the first and empty completly. It finish the rotation and come back to the supplying island and does it again. At one point the wharehouse of the first island is going to be filled up and the ship won't be able to unload every thing. So it is going to the second island and will drop the remaining goods. And so on... And it's a detail but all this to say that i think my method might be easier to set up in the artic because the wharehouses are small. So they will fill up quickly. But again : that's just a small detail!^^
@TakaYouTube
@TakaYouTube 2 года назад
Okay I do understand now.. The problem with doing that is you have to overproduce a variable amount since you are going to be over supplying each island on the route. Yes, eventually you will fill up the storage on each island but that might take time depending on how much storage you have available. It certainly an option to do but I would be hesitant to do it.

Why is it that videos SKIP the FIRST STEP of things. You're video was going fine, and then you jump to "ok we've claimed our first plateau. You skip the step of the airship claims a plateau in the same way a boat claims regular islands. I'm sure it's moment of "well, you should know that already", but the first step and you shouldn't skip it.
@TakaYouTube

I skipped it because claiming a plateau is part of the storyline that you are forced to do... there's nothing special about it and you are going to do it anyways.

@TakaYouTube
@TakaYouTube 2 года назад
I know they don't need heating and I know it's stupid but it's also using certain layouts to utilize the space as best as possible... Canteens have a very short range on them and depending on how far out you have to build everything you might not have room around your houses to put them on the outside edge at all times. Besides, at most you are only losing maybe 3 houses worth of space so it's not a big deal.
