I agree, that's why I chased him down to talk about it. he really has a passion to build these trucks he has a shop in Maryland and has many other builds

Some corrections to be made. RIO did not buy out Diamond T. White Trucks brought out among many others,Sterling, lndiana,Autocar.Then Diamond T and REO.This truck has the REO cab,(the part you sit in) with the Diamond T hood and fenders. The cab D T were using before the REO cab an International Trucks cab,so after they had REO they that cab.They later used the Autocar cab on all their bigger truck and the REO cab on the smaller day job trucks.

wow, great things to know. I never knew the whole story to the Rios and the Dimond ts. i just know that the noses of these old trucks and the craftsman ship always caught my attention when I was growing up. I had to look back on my pictures of the diamond Reo I had because i was corrected and I mis spoke. mine was a 1954 rescue truck. witch I plan to put out a small video about it later this week.

I saw this truck a few months ago eastbound on Rt.7 in Virginia. I was almost tempted to turn around for a closer look.

the same thing happened to me when I saw it in ocean city. I saw it at the spring cruise. and because of traffic could not catch it. then go to do the video and everything else with it at the fall cruise.

Very true, many can not fathom the amount of work it took to get this truck together. and that why I chased it like I did. Mr. tom had a great deal of passion to get that build done. and it was a lot of work to complete the build the way he saw it in his head. the video showed it but when you walk up on it and look at it. it did a great deal of fabrication to complete this. Mr. tom has a great deal of passion to build these truck. he runs a custom truck shop in Maryland. and does this type of work every day. thank you for your comment

Thanks for the video.My father drove some of them in Cuba , it was Diamond T , 1957 motor Cummins 200 hp , he loved it .

Wicked!!....Thank you for the video, and ty Tom for that great tanker combo!! Tell me, did the cab have a tag axle ?.... That rear tandem was in the air as it left the parking lot...

I am very glad you enjoyed it. my plan is to share many more like this. Custom builders with the passion to create these vehicle is what inspires others to learn or go deeper in there builds. yes he was letting it air up and build the air pressure and because i was standing there filming it took off a little to soon. as soon as i turn off the camera he stopped to allow it to build up its air pressure. it was a super wicked build and i am so thankful he let me film it

Have you seen the size of the drum brakes on the tag axle on this thing? Maybe 12x3" I hope that trailer is super light.

This truck is not far from my dream truck. But of course it would be less of a Rat truck and would have another axle under the trailer. But this day and age would not carry a paying load.

that is very true. it is way more of a show truck to show off Mr. toms passion to build and customize. he runs a shop in Maryland that customizes trucks. Sorry for my delay in responding to this comment. got tied up in the shop and have not been able to go full steam ahead on this channel till a few days ago. trying to catch up. thanks for viewing our channel

i believe he said it was a 2003 freightliner engine and chassis that was under the Reo body. Sorry for my delay in responding to this comment. got tied up in the shop and have not been able to go full steam ahead on this channel till a few days ago. trying to catch up. thanks for viewing our channel

There was no 58 diamond reo diamond t and reo merged in 67 before they were separate trucks

You are right sir, and I had to go back and look at the pictures of the truck I had built 30 years ago. the truck i was referencing was a 1953 diamond Reo rescue truck. I am not a Reo expert and I mis spoke as to the year. but stay tuned because you point will be used in a new video coming soon. you made a valid point. thank you

@carldrexler7883 well for me and what i have done. Its all cars. But i have seen alot because of my fathers love for military jeeps and trucks. I love to learn because i love the old trucks. Thank you for your insite. I posted the video today about my reo.

I too love the old diamond ts and the reos. but when he found it it was only the body and nose. he grabbed what he could to save it and build this. it was very well build to just show case the body.
