Thanks for watching! If you'd like to start using "The Path" on your own island, you can get the 9 slot design using this code: MA-6647-9230-4716 Also be sure to follow me on Twitch for live design streams and the upcoming villager hunt! -> www.twitch.tv/ryanftw
The whole process of finding/learning the diy was hilarious. - oh a present - present floating away from the island - oooo new diy - oh I can use that - 60 stones!? What an emotional rollercoaster
I just want to say when you are ready for trees, take a nook miles ticket, eat some fruit, dig up whole trees for your inventory. Saves time. I brought back 8 pine trees from my last island plus all the wood I could harvest, + stones. I needed lots of weeds for a diy project so brought back all those too, got 1000 miles just for weeding. While I was there, caught an arapima + 2 sharks, so really worthwhile trip.
I'm one of those people who used "the path" initially then I got fed up of seeing it everywhere so I've been using the default paths in game with pattern overlays instead and I'm way happier with it. That's just me though I'd just had enough, also bear in mind with the patterns instead of default paths, they don't change with the seasons, the in game dirt paths etc change colour slightly with the season changes so in winter they look frosty etc. Food for thought. Looking great so far, it's nice to see you enjoying the design aspect of the game :)
@@Monokm I'm still not a huge fan, personally I think it just makes the place look messy and not necessarily rustic. I just prefer the default paths and their colour variations
Ahh you've described my exact dilemma. I rarely use the path because of it's messy look, but I love the windyness of it. What pattern overlays do you use for your default pathing?
@@MO-zk8qs Well I try and wrap the dirt path around trees to create the windy look and use pine needles and appropriate coloured leaves dropped around on the path and surrounding area, I also have 2 puddle designs that I drop on. I use stepping stones to separate my paths so I'll end a dirt path a few squares before a bridge and put a new path at each side of the bridge to make it look well used and not to uniform. For example I start a bridge path with a "brick overlay" that matches the brick bridge or I just use cobblestone for the stone bridge. You really don't need to many patterns to make it look nice.
I redid my island to make it more natural and the best advice that i can give, is that you should just place and construct things almost randomly and create ideas as you go. It definitely made it more enjoyable more me ☺️☺️
It’s what I did. I’ve played since day one and I just didn’t feel happy with how it was. I moved all my houses to the beach about a month ago and have taken my time laying paths and it feels like my island flows together now whereas before it was sort of mis matched jumble because I tried doing all my ideas at once.
Personally when i use the path i think it looks best when it’s never the same width for very long, so even those paths leading away from your RS could still be a little bit more random. I just plant flowers or place stone patterns to activate the new empty areas :)
Perhaps try using a more flat bridge for your Resident Services? The wooden bridge, suspension bridge, or the log bridge might be good options since they don't round up at the top. Also, the wood material bridges go along with the natural theme really well. Despite the bridge issue, the rest of the entrance looks great! I like how you're just building off whatever ideas you found that come to mind at the time. It helps make it even more natural!
hey ryan! your entrance is looking great, but i just have a small bit of advice regarding the path. obviously you don’t have to use it, but thought it’d put it out there for anyone else who wants to use the path. i use a version of the path that’s a bit lighter and has leaves and holes already in it, but it’s still the same path. my friends who also use the path have asked me a handful of times, “my path is looking straight, how does yours not look straight and instead looks natural?”. my answer is that i don’t use the same piece next to each other- more specifically the straight pieces. i’m more than willing to use the corner pieces next to each other, but the straight edged pieces look extremely clean cut and not very natural. just a bit of advice from someone who is kind of okay at animal crossing, utilizing the path by having no two straight pieces next to each other really helps the natural look.
Awww noo! We were lucky enough to only lose a couple of games haha hopefully it's something you guys look into returning to soon, the story gets so good in September! 😄
Snooty villagers give the recipe for it. I think there's usually one villager crafting for each hour of the day, so check in on your snooty villagers anytime they're home.
I’m in the process of redoing my entire island as well. I’m doing more of a cityscape type style, but there’s a chunk of me watching this and thinking “Wow, I really like this” and trying to resist tearing down what I have done 😂
I think the brick or wooden bridge would actually look best--brick would blend well with the plaza, wooden would be nice and flat and fit with the natural feel.
ok you cant try to put a bridge down without water. Also, you dont pay nook for the bridge, you pay the gyroid after you lay it down. Also, when you pay off your house, its not that its free to customize but you get ALL customizable options for the house. You only have a select amount before paying it off.
Nice! I was hoping we could build up areas as well as cut through them. Dreaming about terraforming my island. I already had to buy some sets because i was playing Rune Factory Special Edition 4 when this game came out. The advantage is I have all of your videos to help me design rather then even more destructive work to frustrate myself with.
When his island already looks better even tho i have a 200 hour island 👁👄👁 in the beginnig i could fish for 4 hours every day dont ask me how and i started designing my island like a month ago and i got from release lmao
I live for these videos. Can't wait to see what other ideas you come up with. I'm not very much of a terraforming person. Only because I would like to keep the integrity of my island the same. I do adjust here and there but not too much. :)
If you are going for the cottagecore look, what you’re doing so far is much too like “organised”? Especially around the town hall with the flowers... you’re in the right place with the entrance though, it’s trial and error ☺️
Hey man, love your videos btw. I'm not 100% sure but I tried to get an apollo with 200 NMT and didn't appear. I've heard that the personality types that are on your island try to not appear on the mistery island. I had a Walt and a Croque, which both are Cranky, so that's why I think the Apollo didn't appear. Try to take this into account for the villager hunting. Good luck. :D
*GASP* You time traveled?! Lol, jk. I tried doing it too when I tried moving my rocks. Not sure if you might wanna do that before you complete setting up your island.
Does any one have a code for a “The Path” path that has a single tile design in it? Because with these you can only make 2 tile paths. I really like to include some variation with this path tho, so a version that has an extra single tile would be so awesome :’)
The Ketchup fiasco in the last video turned up to be soo helpful for me. I woke up today and Marshal wanted to move out. PANIK but all was ok because I knew what to do from your video and the comments
