This was really helpful. For some reason I've been having a lot of difficulty placing the path in a way that looks good, so I'm going to try using the custom design app instead of the island one. I have a feeling it's because I can't visualize where the pieces should go so having them on screen would help. I can't pick a favorite variation. They're all so good, and I love that you can just change out the designs without having to redo everything!

@@lunatuna06 Please don't be rude! Consolecaito worked really hard on this video to help us all. You need to have the Able sister's shop unlocked and you can enter the creator code in the custom design portal and download the path that way.

This is the best example of "the path" video because you actually take the time to show what the design looks like on your island while most people just show the paths they like on screen from the shop. sometimes a design looks different in the shop than on the ground. I know it takes a lot more time to do it this way so thank you so much for the effort you put into this!

Heres a tip worth mentioning: Dont be afraid to mix up some designs!! My previous “the path” was all mushroom variants. One day i mixed up some of my favorite designs and its a LIFE CHANGER! im using around 4-5 variants of “the path” :))

I would say the Island Designer app is ideal if you're placing a single path design consecutively while using the phone app is ideal if you're alternating between the path designs.

@@olly6016 basically, they said terraforming/path app is easier if you're using one design, and custom designs is better if you keep changing designs. hope this helps! ^^

@@olly6016 "This is a McDonald's" "This is a Wendy's" are phrases used when someone says something unrelated to the original topic, especially if what they are saying is s3xual. This person's comment was perfectly in context with the video and wasn't s3xual at all. You are using that phrase completely wrong, hope this helps.

I have watched many of your speed builds and they literally stress me out because they're so beautiful and me just starting out with acnh get really overwhelmed! There is a drawback to not using actual paths. That is that you can accidentally erase them by kicking. I'm not sure if villagers use paths or follow them, but they probably would ignore patterns.

This was awesome and helped me so much! Is there a way to delete the pre set designs from the design app? I want to get rid of them all except the clovers Edit: hoooooly moly just got to the part where you overwrite the existing paths I CANT TELL YOU HOW HAPPY I AM TO KNOW THIS BEFORE CHANGING THEM ALL EACH SEASON 😭😭😭

Custom paths are awesome they definitely look very nice. One thing i hate about them though is the fact that your character could accidentaly kick them up while you are trying to pick something up for example and you have to open the island designer app or custom designs and place the design down again which is pretty annoying. Wish there was an option so we could basically lock up all the custom designs on the ground so we dont have to worry about accidentely erasing them.

When facing any precise direction, the tiles I place , they place themselves in a different direction that is in y app, I am trying to do the way you do, but the tiles have no order. I can face north and do exactly as you showed, but for example the tile southwest will place itself south... idk what to do.

Great video! I found an old wooden plank version of the path doing an online search and I love how it looks! The path gives a person a lot of options as far a being creative.

You made the video! Yay! And so soon! Thank you! (I haven't watched it yet I'll update my comment afterwards) (After watching) thank you again! Your explanation helped. My biggest problem is just making it go where I want to, but I also have a problem where I'll be trying to lay it down and accidentally put a tile down too close so it makes the path 1 tile wide instead of 2, and then it's just a mess lol variety is also very hard--I sometimes have to put a piece down 3 or 4 times simply bc I need it to go straight or diagonal and there's no other way to make it straight 🤷‍♀️ (did that make sense?)

Thank you so much for the suggestion! Try working with your borders first after you determine where you need the path to go. Maybe even start with the corner pieces so you can decide where the path will be turning and maybe that will help??

I feel like the only reason I like the island designer more is because using the phone reminds me of my one start days where it would take me forever to place down the one tile path I created and then realizing I had to take it all down when I got terraforming it’s almost like I have a dark backstory with the nook phone although I still use it and from time to time use it for custom designs

The custom design app is better for speed but please bare in mind if you accidentally press y trying to pick something up and your not 💯 on top of that item you will delete your path 🤣

Pretty sure it can still be kicked up, mine have all come up via accidental clicks.

Any of the custom patterns can be kicked up regardless of which app you use to place them, unfortunately. :/

When you have the Ables Sisters shop unlocked on your island there is a kiosk at the back that you can use if you have Nintendo online. You can enter creator codes or design codes there and save designs :)

I’m new to animal crossing and for some reason I can’t get these designs because the codes start with MA and mine keeps MO, I can’t seem to change it

When you’re searching for them in the portal. Make sure you are selecting the option to search for a creator. Anything that starts with MA is a creator code. MO means it’s a specific design code. Hope this helps!!

ohhh thanks. ive had so much trouble figuring out how to place the winding paths. i spent probably ten minutes doing one section because it was hurting my brain lol
