Exploring a "Wet Prairie" trail system in western Florida's Tarkiln Bayou State Preserve. Since these trails don't lead to major water features they are less popular but the area is still vast and beautiful. A pretty good place to get away from the crowds.

Guess who's back. Tell a friend LOL. Thanks buddy! I'm about to try to shoot myself out of cannon here but I mostly shoot myself with a Canon. Bed time is close.

Any where away from the crowds sounds like an excellent place for Otis and I to explore! We have a couple of areas similar to what you describe as "wet prairie" here in Nova Scotia as well. A person could get lost in there and never want to be found. Such beautiful blue skies and the best place to be is outdoors when one can. A perfect adventure...Bruce and Otis

I never heard the term "wet prairie" till I saw it used to describe this area. Getting into nature and away from being forced to interact with people isn't easy. A lot more people are getting the same idea so one has to go off trail, into less popular areas or go during the work week. Having perfect weather is always icing on the cake!

Awesome vid nate. Very relaxing. Just the way I like em. Love the water crossing edit. There are a lot of ecosystems just like that near me. I just bought a compass myself LOL strange. In fact I used it on my last adventure that should be up on Sunday.

I’ve got to pack a towel I never thought of that with all the swamp hiking I do. This area looks a lot like the area I recently camped out at. It will remain unnamed though!….keep fighting for the wild!

That place you last camped did remind me a bit of this area. I won't be pressing you to give up your location! I respect that.

Even from the Lillian bridge, that preserve looks really cool, off in the distance. Tops of the pines almost look manicured. I sure hope it doesn't turn into strip malls!

As a state preserve I'm pretty confident it won't.

That's like the perfect kind of path for meandering. If I lived there I'd have the doggos out there all the time. Love it! (Is this one of the places we went when we came down??)

Yes and no. This area is the less popular section of the preserve. You didn't see it.
