I've finally managed to get a copy of The Patriot special edition with this deleted scene, so I thought I'd share it. Jason Isaacs is simply amazing in this role, he does villainous so well.
Considering he's based on Banastre Tarleton, who himself was a badass, I'd agree. Though the real historical character is often exaggerated by American propaganda.
How could you not love this guy? I wish that scene was added in the movie. As a matter of fact, we all know what happens to the thief when Colonel Tavington responded " I always do".

1 of my cousin's friends who lived in Rock Hill, S.C. at the time it was filmed in '99 met Jason Issacs and Adam Baldwin on location during a filming break. They both were very sweet and gracious to her. They posed for pics and signed autographs. She also got hugs from them. She told my cousin, Cindy, later she almost broke into a sweat being among 2 sexy guys.....lol
I understand why they might not have kept the scene in, because this torture room simply establishes that Travington is a POS, which is already established by other scenes ie. burn the church, but they should have kept it in anyway it is so good.
@Tim Loves Bacon nope, raised on colonial blood buttered biscuits, me. And tea sweatened with powdered yanky bones has been part of the diet for years. Pip pip old boy, and all that.. 👍.
No wonder why people been saying "the patriot movie is wrong" which my guess it's all due to because of cut of scenes of the movie which reality would make the movie more interesting to watch. But there again it's still a good movie even though they cut out certain parts, if you think about it it's no different then other movies with lots of swear words.
This is by far the best copy of this scene! I have a question though. Would it be possible for you to post it in an even better quality? I am making a video and this particular scene is nowhere to be found, which is heartwrenching because I simply must have it! I would be ever so grateful. Please?
This is from an original copy of the special edition dvd from 2000 which I managed to obtain on ebay. I extracted it to my computer with dvd ripping software and then rendered with my video editor on the highest quality setting, so am not sure it can be improved upon but I will certainly try :)
Severena Angel Oh my... Thank you! Perhaps you could try recording it while it plays with some programme similar to CamStudio? Or would that make the quality only worse? And I really appreciate the response!:)
