What Cummins did to INDIA is unfathomable. Even the Indian team must be still trying to figure it out what actually happened when they were batting. Seemed like time went very fast during India's batting and it was very hard for them to catch up with the strategies Cummins had planned against them. The type of field he placed for each batsman was out of syllabus. The number of bowlers he used and their shuffling according to the demand of the situation was a rare sight. Cummins did not play cricket, he played with Indian minds and he outclassed his game.

If India would have bowled first Australia got out under 200 in this pitch like chennai. Pitch behaved pretty good after the 10overs of the 2nd innings.Cummins knew that.And utilised that strategy after winning toss.Its as simple as that. IPL destroyed Cricket in India.And thats true.

I am from Pakistan 🇵🇰 and to my Indian friends your team played top class cricket and reached finals unbeaten and this is itself a huge achievement. Better luck next time. Pakistan I believe in 1999 WC were almost unbeaten but choked in the final with Australia. I always see sub continent teams fail in big matches to hold the nerve. Indian team has all the skills required but couldn’t take the pressure of a big match in front of a full house and PM sitting there. Pakistan team does the same thing in big matches specially against India. It’s like some other team showed up for the final. You can call it law of averages or pressure but they are runner up and should be applauded. 👏

As an Aussie, I felt the only team that could give us a hard time would be india. To be the champions, you have to beat the best, so I hope all teams want to take on Australia in the final. It would make winning feel so much greater beating Australia to win instead of any other team. Until that happens, I'm very proud of our Aussie batters and bowlers. Different players lifted in different games. India should feel good. Their opening bowlers looked super dangerous.
@naveent2785
@naveent2785 7 месяцев назад
Actually, I believe the tournament's favourites are England. They are the strongest team, atleast on paper. Not sure what their team is so ripped apart. If there is one captaincy which requires a change, I think it is not Babar Azam but the English Captain. Many termed Glenn Maxwell innings as the greatest of all time but no offense I think that it is most fluke innings ever played or it is Just some clueless bowling by Afghanistan. I agree Australians are champ but I think this is the weakest out of all its teams that won the world cups. I feel Newzealand team is more superior in terms of performance and talent currently. Just wait zampa will be belted like anything like Nathan Lyon by all teams and Marnus can only play a test innings. I don't know where is Matthew wade, he is most dangerous player in the current Aussie team after Warner.
@danratcliff5353
@danratcliff5353 7 месяцев назад
@naveent2785 England are mentally weak. They can claim the moral world cup, but they can't play cricket, and it showed. Now Australia did struggle at times, but there was always a mentally strong player to pick the side up and carry them to victory. Maxwell is a big hitter, but that's not what was special. It was the ability to do it while your body isn't working and score more runs in one game than everyone else. Australia have the metal edge from 5 (now 6) World Cup championship, and when the game matters, they win. It's why other teams will vaule winning over the Australians more than any other. Go ahead and hit zampa for 6, but it's starc and hazelwood you have to watch out for.

I'm an Aussie... India was clearly the better team going into the game. I think the Yellow Jersey in big games is like a superpower. It lifts Australia and intimidates any opposition. Every other team at the top level has scars that run for generations from what Australia has done to them in big moments. India lost because they were intimidated, and Australia finally played to their potential. The Yellow Jersey has power. Ask Afghanistan, they played a perfect game at a critical time for them, but they will forever be scarred by what Maxwell did to them two weeks ago.

After Rohit got out, we scored only 4 boundaries in 40 overs. No doubt Aus planning, fielding were brilliant and pitch was getting slower, but even against their 6th bowler Travis Head, we scored only 2 runs in his 2 overs. This is unacceptable when your top 5 batsmen were in sublime form. Somebody should have taken the responsibility to take calculative risk against Maxwell/Head/Marsh overs and try to shift the momentum. The defensive approach from the batting unit cost us the game.

@Seekingtruth239 would add Rohit got out to an excellent fielding effort and catch by Head. SKY is not the same as SKY of T20. Low on confidence, big occasion and the homework which aussies had done against him. He looked and played like a tailender. The biggest blunder was to go with this kind of slow, sluggish pitch for world cup final. Bowling could have only delivered if they had something to defend. Aussies were never in pressure or a spot of bother. Also some strange decisions when India was bowling. Anyways, the game and tournament is done and dusted. Hate this Motera stadium. Never host another big ICC game there.

Many might think that Australian bowling put early pressure on Indian Batsmen, but that was not the case. Cummin's brilliant captaincy and good fielding kept Indian batsmen tight in the start. That brilliant catch by Travis Head and quick wicket of Shreyas send India into a shell. Although when Kohli got out, India were still in the game and were aiming around 270-280 total, but when the ball started to reverse swing. it became difficult even to reach that 240 total. 240 was not enough total to defend on this pitch. In the Australian batting inning, I knew if Australian openers build a platform for Smith or Marnus, Indian bowlers will struggle to take the wicket of Smith and Marnus. Bumrah got Smith, but the way Marnus was middeling the ball, I knew he would stay until the end. Hats off to that brilliant inning from Travis Head 137(120) which was the key reason of Australia's victory today. Congratulations Team Australia for winning their 6th ODI World Cup! ✌✌✌✌

BCCI decided to lose this one to keep its face. Suddenly the old tried and tested Indian bowlers and batters became better than everyone else with a magic wand, I guess. Pitches can be created, balls can be tempered and empires can be bought. This world cup is very political and discriminative in nature. This is alarming that a 1st world country UK and its institution ICC is being run by a 3rd world corrupt (listed in the top 3 corrupt countries) India and its institution BCCI. This mixing up with corrupt cultures and capitalism will drown the hard earned Western civilization. Capitalism has made it possible for 3rd world countries to produce a couple of $ billionaires even though the system , culture and institutions stay ethically and morally bankrupt. We would like to know how deeply this corruption has spread to other institutions in the UK? Would we be able to get justice from the UK's, social, and legal system in the next 20 years?

I am from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩 Indians are talking about the pitch of Ahmedabad a lot but Rohit Sharma wanted to bat first so toss didn't matter, the matter was the fantastic captaincy and fantastic bowling performance from Australia. India struggled a lot after the 10 overs till the end of the innings. Australia managed to take wickets with a little break and didn't give any chance to score more than 280-300. In addition, the fielding of Australia was tremendous. The fielders saved 25-30 runs according to Sunil Gavaskar. In this match, Indian bowlers didn't bowl well because I feel that they panicked a lot, they bowled worst in fast 10 overs though they grab 3 wickets. Australia capitalized the conditions and acted accordingly after the 10 overs Australia memorized the Indian conditions and exploited those ideas in the final. For example, how Hazelwood and Cummins made a plan to get the wicket of Virat and SKY were simply brilliant

No doubt about it. They read it and came prepared for it. Fielding was just the best we have seen in this tournament. However, Rohit's thought was different on batting first. He wanted to bat quickly and push the game away from Australia. That doesn't mean the pitch isn't a concern here.... having pitch where toss can be a factor is poor on BCCI part ..
@user-ts1gv9kv9i
@user-ts1gv9kv9i 7 месяцев назад
Don't agree, no team would want to bat first on such pitch. You don't have any option rather than saying "we would have batted " You don't want to give advantage to opposition at toss. However i think india batted very poorly, though condition was tough due to reverse swing, the intent to score runs was missing

Part 3 - Aussie Team: It was so fun to watch the captaincy of Cummins. He shuffled the bowlers so well, brought in his main bowlers for quick spells and used the part time bowlers to create variations. Their fielding was outstanding, made Indians work for every run. Aussies not only suffocated the Indian batting line up but also the Indian supporters by tying down this enormous batting giant. Can you believe India only managed to score 13 boundaries and 3 sixes ( all by Rohit in the powerplay) in the whole 50 overs? That is how good Aussies were today regardless of how ever slow the pitch was. I just want to mention this that Labus , played his best test match innings to win the ODI world cup, but Head didn't perform so well because if he did, Aussie would have won in 25 overs.

Rohit reckless intent is sustainable in teams like Eng/Aus who bat deep till no. 9 or 10. If Shubman gets out early ...rohit should play his natural 100 strike rate game.. not hit every ball.
@jaskaran7418
@jaskaran7418 7 месяцев назад
The blame lies on team management going for such a pitch .it resulted in playing a double bluff.Had india decided to go with usual Ahmedabad track,they would have won.they were trying to cramp aussies on a slow track but it backfired on them.Secondly,there was lack of communication from team management when KL was sucking up the balls.the pitch was not that bad,i would say the approach was not good specially by Kl,he would have easily played 5-6 singles in over even if he was not going for boundaries.there was lack of intent in rotating the strike but more surprisingly the think tank doesn’t send any messages about it. People are appreciating rohit’s changed approach this wc but i would say he got out recklessly all tournament after getting starts.changing his approach,india lost the rohit who used to do big hundreds of 130-140+.after getting to a flying start he should have tried to play long even with the runner ball scoring rate after the start he got would have done the job. Also,they made a mistake by giving shami the new ball as all tournament he was first change,using slightly older ball.he failed to control swing resulting in giving lots of extra’s even with the wickets down aussies were getting runs in freebies because of this strange decision .Not only this decision reflected bad for shami but also siraj was taken out of the game. Ps-Aussies won on tactics and india lost because of relying on a slow track rather than their strength and making tactical blunders

The best team won! Australian intent was so clearly visible yesterday. Can’t say the same about India. We choked and crumbled under pressure. Just imagine knowing that over a hundred thousand people are supporting the team you’re playing against and yet exhibiting tactical brilliance every step of the way. Gosh, that’s beyond incredible! A very well deserved win for the Aussies! I understand a lot of us feel ‘cheated’ because we thought we ‘deserved’ the win. But that’s the entitlement we need to get rid of. From the semi final onwards, we cannot afford to carry the baggage of success we had till the semis. But every failure is an opportunity to learn. And so we shall!

Part 1 - About Indian Cricket team: I have been watching cricket for good 35 years and have never seen such a strong Indian team before. All the 11 players are in form and playing some great cricket. I don't remember watching any other team being so strong in a particular world cup before, perhaps West Indies in '79, even 2003 Australian team was not this good. However, Indian team played poorly in the final and this is not an one-of incident. Indian team has been playing poorly in finals and semi-finals since Champions Trophy final, 2016. This game really slowed down after Rohit got out. The middle order was worried, and only looked to post a decent total. In todays game, 240 is a low scoring match regardless of the pitch conditions. KL Rahul played a very strange game, scoring only 1 boundary in 107 balls, even Labuschangne hit more boundaries who was effectively playing test cricket out there. I am going sound like a cliché, but Indian cricket needs to be more positive when batting in big games.

India only won the game because of huge score and those 2 wickets by shami without that NZ was on course to chase down the huge target and Today also He allowed them to take easy singles and having scored 10 runs of 2 balls and again going for the same shot despite of having lost 1 wicket was the turning point and India lost the game there itself

Hello @danktempsey6110 The reason to be proud is the incredible cricket they played through the tournament. They weren’t some plucky underdogs, YES but never have they had 10 on a trot in WC and stats on individual performances is testimony to that. Agreed, not the final indian cricket team and fans would have expected. Australia played much better cricket and are deserving champions. Its the unfortunate paradox of social media and uncalled for, that Travis is facing those vicious comments. But please know there are enough indian fans praising him and Aussies for their incredible performances. Congratulations to Aus and warm regards to you.
