At the request of viewers, I came back to the ‪@DigiTechFX‬ SDRUM to cover some of the hidden features that are documented in the manual but require a visual demonstration to really make sense. Aside from giving you a quick and easy solution to create a kick and snare pattern, the SDRUM can also create parts for you with different variations, such as not having the snare or kick on the first downbeat of a bar, or no snare/kick at all in a pattern. Plus it creates a really great snare train rhythm for you country and folk music fans. And it even creates a great brush swirl pattern perfect for jazz songs. Whatever your song vice may be, the SDRUM has got your drums covered. I hope you enjoy this one!

I just ordered this pedal and fs3x footswitch combo from you.. Great pricing and I just cant wait to play with it... I retired from working bands about 7 years ago, after 35 years of playing.. Then had to battle cancer for the last 2 years, so I have really been away from all of it for a while.. Ran into my old bass player yesterday and he hasnt been doing anything for a while either. I asked if he would be interested in writing,, and he said yes.. This will give us a great starting point without having to many people involved and keep things creative and personal.. Thank you soooo much for what you do. I am so exciting to get this ball rolling..

Thanks Pedal Guy for this series on the sDrum, you've helped a ton on thing !! The more I use it the more I really like it. It helps when I TRY to be a one man band and lay down my own bass and rhythm lines on the looper, and now it looks like I'm the drummer too ... alls I gots to do now is slam out some leads ;) Thanks again Bro !!

Never heard of this drum pedal until I came across it in a video a couple weeks ago. Got a used one that came with a Ditto Looper for $100 dollars for both. Only had it a couple hours, and man this thing rocks! I absolutely love this pedal! Wish I had known about it 4 years ago! Would have saved hours of frustration, programming drum parts, or just trying to make my song fit into some decent drum backing track I found. Read a lot of reviews and people saying it sounds crappy. They are dead wrong! Perhaps they were trying to run it through their guitar amp or something? I put it through two 2000 watt frfr speakers, and it sounds like a live drummer! Solid 5 stars for this pedal!

When I first got the SDrum I was afraid it might be too much for use as a live pedal. Having watched a lot of Dovydas videos on YT made me realize he is basically doing the same thing with a few drum pads. Your videos on all the features are quite useful. Love that swirl and train pattern. Thanks.

This was fantastic. The advanced back of manual techniques here, the flexibility rocks! I've been using a Trio+ for years, which I love, but I have found myself more and more just looping my own basslines (using a pitch-shifter on my guitar) over one of the drum tracks. The SDrum seems excellent with very few of the limitations of the Trio+. Only now I realize that I can't use my Trio+ as a looper with the SDrum.... unless I record the SDrum as one of the loop layers. Which is nuts. But maybe? I don't care. I'm looking forward to this showing up at my door.

Cool. Enjoy. The lack of MIDI sync is a small shortcoming of the TRIO but other than that both pedals are great

@@ThePedalGuy Yeah! But I just realized a shortcoming of the SDrum with jamsync. With the Trio, you can record a song with up to 5 parts, each with different drums and chord progressions. With the SDrum, the bass loop never changes regardless of the song part. That is annoying. But thanks anyway!

I always use the pads to tap in the kick/snare pattern. I find it easier to do than strumming and I can do all the cool extra stuff too. Nice video. Are you doing one with the additional footswitch?

@@ThePedalGuy Cheers. Found it in part 3. You can also do some advanced stuff with the footswitch that isn't in the manual. In direct mode, you can pause then flip parts without a fill. You can also end a song with silence mid bar by doing a pause then while you hold the pause, stop the sdrum.

HI Karl. If you use the optional FS3X Foot switch in Direct Part Mode, yes.

Does the guitar audition mode work with a 12 string? Also, if you are in audition mode and strumming, does the drum pattern slow down and speed up in sync with your playing style?

I've honestly never tried with a 12 string, but I imagine it would work. Once the pattern is playing back, the tempo is set and can be adjusted using the Tempo knob.

No idea but that's an interesting question. I'll need to look into it. In theory if the HX Stomp accepts MIDI clock as a tempo source, it should work. You need the JamSync to MIDI cable though.

Both ways seem to work, but only sometimes. There's something I'm missing. Anyway, if somebody knows the proper steps, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

From the SDRUM manual. All songs are automatically stored to the SDRUM’s memory in real time. This means no action is required to store the current song’s settings-any changes will be stored immediately. To keep the current song and start on something new, just select a new song. To go back to a previous song, simply load that song.

Thanks for the tips. My SDRUM drops in volume. Most of the time hitting the footswitch and making it go to a chorus fixes it temporarily. Not sure why it's happening. It's connected to a 1A power supply.

Have you tried a reset? Make sure you back up your songs first. Hold the KICK pad, SNARE pad, and ALT (GROOVE/KIT) while powering on the unit. Once the HATS/RIDES encoder lights up, release the buttons. Wait for the HATS/RIDES encoder to flashes amber, press the it.
