I love seeing the evolution unfold to add story to a stock image, "maybe there's a coat rack, maybe a coat, oh and an umbrella" those little things add to making great work!
I have learned so much from Jim over the years and having video now only makes it easier for people to learn. Don't go to art school kids, learn from youtube. Jim in particular but there are so many other great teacher on here.
@@FadeToBlood Check out David finch and todd Nauk, both comic book artists who work for marvel/dc. They do live streams like this I believe and other stuff.
Seeing Jim Lee erase penguins arms twice before deciding on a look gives me so much more confidence in my own art since I need to erase things all the time
Great story about the "fear of injury"! I injured my wrist 2 yrs ago. Couldn't work/ Draw for 6 weeks! I need to get some insurance too!😅 Excellent artwork as always. Super enjoyed this!🔥🔥
Just found another reason why I love you man! When someone asked about erasing, and you erased basically EVERYTHING to show how not to be afraid! 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ❤
@@claudiurogojan7114 Well to be fair, they didn't have the permission to make the characters accurate like that because dc wanted that to be saved for the movies rather the series. eg They couldn't use the name joker either, instead had to call him Jeremiah.
Batman hush is the best comic ever made and now it is so easy to watch Jim Lee bc he posts/streams so much! We don't need to wait for the next issue to see his artwork now :D
Happy new year Jim. What tools do you use to draw when streaming? I'm trying to draw on line myself and produce courses. Penguin was always my favourite batman villain. I'm from Ireland.
how do you use the micro like that, all angled and using such quick strokes like that, without it becoming completely useless in like an hour? I always wind when I use the micron pens any way but precise, slowly, and 90 degrees from the paper, they break super quickly and pigment will barely come out at an angle
That’s awesome Jim, for me the penguin is not a cool character, but you make him look like a bad ass, especially with that pose of him about to take care of business. Great work Jim. Ive been a fan for you for 30 plus years. You really inspire me. I draw for fun here and there. Thanks!
Was inspired to do my own style of X-men ever since I read through your X-men series back in 1991. Created Psylocke and Wolverine Inspired painting for my Masterpiece series recently, adding onto it as I go. If you have time to check it out, I'd love to hear what you think! www.deviantart.com/gozinta82 Thanks for being my inspiration, Jim!
I hope J L reads this thread I have Bad Day for Ninjas 1989 Lithographs I wanna meet you have you draw claw Mark's on the Wolverine and A Skull symbol on the Punisher and have him sign both
