If they do a gender swap Clayface it will just come off as a wannabe Mask of the Phantasm and even worse Taskmaster from that awful Black Widow movie which will be a terrible move on Reeves part if so.

I'm just so sick and tired of "realistic" DC, honestly... it's gotten stale. Nolan did it, he did good with it, fine, but we never moved on from that. The director of "The" Batman even went out of his way to make the flying realistic with a wind suit... I mean... ugh. It's Gotham. It's not realistic nor should it be. Where are the airships? The color filters? The goblins? The headlights pointing at the sky? The constant night and rain? Where's Batman with white eyes? The Robins? The incredible and at times silly rogues gallery we have met in the comics? Why is it so hard to just adapt the Arkham games? Gunn better be delivering the Batman I just described or so help me God. Here's what I think, and I think you should make a video out of this if you haven't yet because I sense you agree: Hollywood looks down on comics. Despite their ups and downs, Marvel is not afraid to be bold, colorful, actiony with their superheroes. DC tho... it's like they try their hardest to ground the characters in reality and obviously it doesn't work. It should be unacceptable that the most iconic film version of Batman, to this day, is Tim Burton's, a film made in 1989! The Joker is the the worst of them all. That's not the Joker. It's an excellent film to raise awareness for mental illness and poses important questions on the system, highlighting the disparities between the haves the the have nots. Yea... that's not the Joker. Joker is not a victim and things don't happen to him accidentally. He's a Machiavellian, murderous, mastermind, who is mentally unstable but doesn't know it nor should he care, because he's a monster. Now Harley is not even called Harley xD I mean, come on. Tell me you look down on the source material without telling me you look down on the source material. And here's the funny part: no live action has EVER reached the level of the source material xD Matt Reeves, Todd Phillips, Ryan Johnson, even Nolan, all these guys trying so desperately to reinvent the wheel just so they can leave their stamp, their imprint on this work, what they fail to understand is that no amount reinventing is ever going to take away the fact that this isn't their work, it's the work of Bob Kane, Bill Finger, and some of the great writers who have added to the Batman lore over the years such as Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. We need someone to ADAPT their work to live action, not try to create something from scratch disregarding the incredible work they've done.

Hey Boba! Just wanted to let you know that the signs the crowd are holding at 0:34 in the teaser, have references to the Hangman from the comic Batman: Dark Victory. A sequel to the long Halloween. It's revealed that Sofia Falcone is the Hangman.
