The Penguin - Official Teaser Trailer Reaction 

My biggest takeaway from this trailer reaction is how the thumbnail was edited to show the light of the sun on their silhouettes. Quality stuff there.

I think having Batman 1 ending the way it did and following up by a show like this is a great opportunity for Batman 2. As Adam said, Penguin takes place right after Batman 1, so not only is there a power vacuum that needs to be filled but also a city that needs to rebuild which is a perfect space for organized crime. They can build up Penguin in a great mobster-like way but also evolve Gotham City into an even more crime infested hole, like we know it from other media. So when Batman 2 comes around it can take place in a changed city that bring us crazier villains. I love that and I hope that Matt Reeves gets the support he needs so he can build his Gotham the way he wants it.

It's great how Matt Reeves understands that Gotham City is a character in and of itself. And this looks spot on to the movie.

That is such an effective and concise teaser trailer. I am so hyped for more Colin Ferrell’s version of the Penguin.

what was going on with the choppiness of the trailer and the audio? don’t remember their vids of trailers being like that

For those that don't know, the mobster mentioned at the first of this trailer, Rex Calabrese, is Selina Kyle's biological father. I like this. It looks like a cool mix of Sopranos and Penguin: Pain and Prejudice.

I am not exactly the biggest batman or dc fan but i really enjoyed the twilight batman, i am really interested in this show.

This looks great, like Vito Corleone’s rise to power but in Gotham.

I loved how low-key it was. Having just finished watching The Sopranos last year, Farrell is totally channeling James Gandolfini in the best way. I can picture Reeves approaching the series as The Sopranos: Gotham, where the aim is to make the audience practically root for this murderous criminal just like we did with Tony Soprano. That would be an amazing achievement.

I hope that The Penguin is a companion to The Batman films, not a requirement. So much has changed since The Batman was released in terms of accessibility.

Seems like Adam should handle this project alone. He clearly loves the Reeves’ birth of Gotham and its characters. And this is a huge moment for ‘Penguin’ on screen. Maybe surpassing DeVito. I’m just a little confused because it seems like Agustin doesn’t care one atom about any of this and I don’t get why he’s here covering ‘The Penguin’ to just be like ‘yeah, it’s whatever’.

Stop butchering these trailers.
