Any links would be appreciated and thank you for breaking down the perception process so that I understand it a little more.
What if prior to selection, there already was an interpretation? Meaning, if one is not happy in life, then this could be present, whether realized or not, which could affect the perception of the experience (selection, organization, and interpretation).
