I’ve been having the mindset of “at least it’s better than the movies” now I can think more about it and say that I just wish the episodes were longer (even just 10-15 minutes longer), NEEDS FLASHBACKS (it can help with the tell, not show), and MORE EPISODES (when we get season 2, I want MORE EPISODES if they’re just gonna keep being this short. I really agree on the part where everything is told to the viewers, I mean they can’t expect everyone watching to be major pjo fans and know everyone backstory, but there’s almost no flashbacks showing us peoples stories and is just people telling us straight, it’s that way in the books for the monsters which makes sense but doing that for all of the character in the show seems kinda intense

I completely agree with your point about the fights. They all seem so quick, and my theory is so that the Ares fight is like, the big fight. But they’re really anticlimactic
1:34 You say in both the book and the movie he is lured away, and I would like to say it is the same in the musical. Even if the musical isn't official Rick Riordan content, it is a nice touch.
I agree with a lot of the points beside Medusa/acting/chemistry. I felt Medusa was very morally grey from the beginning. Someone who is only nice to you when you agree with her (there is a reason she has a room full of petrified persons and the fact that she preys on the trios mistrust between each other is very great imo) and i get why they didn´t show Medusas head (the movies where for a older audience imo). I don´t really need to see it tbh. I just wish that the eerie feeling she brought on screen can be allowed to be shown more often. I think they are really missing a sense of threat/danger, showing us the gods (Zeus for example - rip Lance Reddick, what a fantastic actor) could really help. I disagree with the acting & chemistry as well - i only felt the line reading was off a few times so far and Percys reaction to his mums death. They are doing fine for their age. For me they have the right chemistry and feel like their characters. The chemistry is really (!) important for me so i definitly prefer a "worse" actor if he has better chemistry with the rest of the cast. I think Disney is a big problem here (episode lenght, less action, no fights, not allowing tension to build up, fewer monsters because of budget) and honestly i think the show should choose some of the directors more wisely (More of Anders Engström as director and Monica Owusu-Breen as a writer). I think a moderation from Percy (or him praying to his mum at the beginning of episodes) or a part at the beginning of episodes that explains some of the stuff happening could really help the show having less info-dumping (and by that help the young actors to have more natural conversations). One thing i´m really happy about?: The show not trying to be the next Harry Potter etc. It may doesn´t sound like it but im really enjoying the show so far. It is more than i hoped for and for me they got the characters and their relationsships mostly right (or it feels right). That was the most important thing for me. I honestly just wish it could have been on a different streaming sevice.
Yeah true they should have edited more camp szenes like the sword fight training between Luke and Percy or like idk a "good luck" hug between Annabeth and luke infront of Thalias tree. They both could have stand infront of the tree talking while Percy and Grover approach. Then a small hug that would have been like 30 to 40 secound and not hard to do. Longer Episodes would have shown the friendship between Percy and Luke or the Family bond between Luke, Annabeth and Thalia so much better
I thought the same about the music, thepacing, lengh and the comedic relief also the vidged compared to the last of us. It was disappointing I really hope they improve next season it has much potential I still have a lot of hope for it
When the worst thing people are saying is hey we need more that's more of a positive then a negative. Hopefully Disney can grant them more runtime to give us more of what everyone appears to be enjoying.
There was also a moment in episode two where my brother (who’s never read the books) shouted out, “Wait, is Percy the villain?! I thought he was a good guy!” The line could have been delivered in a different tone so people like my brother wouldn’t think that. It was only 28 minutes? No wonder it felt so short! Also, when the Harry Potter song was about to play, my mom’s alarm went off, so I was wondering what show’s theme song sounds like an alarm? 😂
I feel like they’re rushing the show too much. Totally missing out on important details, like the three fates. Edit: My mistake, they were shown in the new episode. But I do not take back what I said about the rushing part.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed a Disneyification. Even though the books were published by Disney, they didn't take readers for idiots because the audience was children. What is your opinion of the show now that it's finished ?
I think I will disagree with some part of yours. 2 things I do agree first two ep felt VERY rushed and it was all exposition dump! And true if the episode was longer, It would have solved the issue. But about Grover being scared of Mr. D, it was depicted when Percy was trying to talk back to Mr. D and Grover stopped him, told him he is Dionysus and then, when Mr. D started acting like Percy's dad, Grover couldn't open his mouth to say anything as he was shut off! Again, when Grover mentions about Hades taking Sally to underworld, Mr. D threatens him to not say anything to Percy and Grover again cowed down. Those portion shows he was afraid. But in the end, he chose to not lie to Percy and stand up against Chiron and Mr. D (which I think was to show his loyalty to Percy). Next about Sally being matador. I did not find the seen funny coz all I saw was a mom trying distract a monster away from her son. And Percy did have a reaction, he first went 'no no no no no no' and then literally screams 'MOM' twice! And once he thinks she died, he was so shocked that he couldn't react. That feels so real. When you see something extremely shocking, you immediately do not get angry or start crying, you get numb with shock! And Percy then slowly came to realization and proceeds to kill the Minator! I thought this reaction makes sense. And next day he was shown to be crying and distraught. So some of the things I think should be rewatched!
