Finally someone else other than myself who uses apsc lenses on FF cameras. I use both FF and apsc lenses on my a7R3 and a7R5. I programmed the video record custom button to toggle in and out of crop mode. I bought the Sony 10-20mm f4, and then heard about this lens right after. I think I'm going to trade the Sony for the Sigma.

I do wish this the lens was available for ef mount, i was in the market for an ultra wide aps-c lens to pair with my 18-35. I guess im going to have to stick with the tokina ultra wide.

@1:45 So at 12mm+1.2x crop from active stabilization means that it is equivalent to a 14.5mm field of view?

Benji, I’m a real estate photographer in Tucson, Arizona. I’m currently switching over to Fuji from Sony. The only thing Sony that I have left is my a7riv and my Sigma 14-24 for work. All my events, headshot, photography, family photos are done on Fujifilm now. My question is, is this something you would recommend for Real Estate Photography? I’m considering the Fuji version, but this thing is so compact, and it looks like it would be a great fit. What are your thoughts please? Thank you for your time., Chris

Hey, there's only one information I'm missing! In full frame mode, is there black borders between 10 to 12/13mm and then it is usable up until 18mm ? Cause this works with the sony 10-18mm f4 and not in their latest 10-20 f4pz... Thanks for the video btw :)

Yeah it only really works in a small range before getting hard corners. Doesn’t work at 10mm or 18mm for sure. I found that around 12mm is the sweet spot.

Yes it will be a great option for the S5IIX 4k60p because it’s a 15-27 full frame equivalent.

Really interesting to see it does cover full frame so well at around 12mm. So when using this lens at your A7RV, when setting the lens at f2.8, does it let is as much light as a designated FF lens at f2.8? Or would we have to take the crop factor into account, assuming the lens lets as much light in as an equivalent of f4.0 on your FF sensor? Would be interesting to know! Budget 12-24 f2.8 GM alternative? haha

The crop factor only affects the apparent DOF, not the amount of actual light hitting the sensor :)

Does it feel like it would balance well on a Fuji X-E body? It is looking like a great replacement for my Laowa 9/2.8 and Samyang 12/2 AF, maybe even the Fuji 18/2.

100%. It’s a little bigger in the front, but in comparison to a lot of other lenses I’ve used on the X-E4, it’s really small.

It balances really well, it's a great size. Should be only slightly bigger than the Samyang 12mm. I sold mine off after testing it against my Laowa though, I prioritise sharpness across the frame for my ultrawide shots and the Laowa did a lot better in this regard, both wide open and stopped down.

When you say it works on full frame, do you mean it covers the whole sensor (with vignetting ofc)? Or do you just mean a full frame body in APSC mode

Full sensor use. It vignettes and gives hard corners in spots, but specifically in active stabilization, it crops slightly in which makes it useable.

@@benjhaisch ah that's awesome! Does it technically then maintain the 2.8 aperture? Iirc when using an APSC lens on FF the focal length AND aperture are adjusted...

I wanna buy this for my Fuji X t30 ii. But I can't find one amazon. The link you have on the bio, it says it's for Sony. Would that not work for Fuji? Please confirm before I buy the wrong thing!

I don’t believe it’s released for Fujifilm yet, but no a Sony E lens won’t work on a Fujifilm X camera. Sorry!
