Oh man, I am so excited to see coverage on Space Empires! I've been wanting to pull the trigger on that series but never have. We'll see if you can sway me! On the topic of backing games, have you had a chance to check out Cysmic? If not, check it out! It might be up your alley!

It seems that all roads lead for me doing a how to play for Space Empires.. Jesus lol I have checked Cysmic from the first time they got funded and decided NOT to release the game because they wanted more. Left a sour taste in my mouth, you know what I mean? Also, the price is quite high EVEN for a good production value. Hard for me to justify such an expense now, but we'll see what happens in the 2nd hand market. La Granja has always looked amazing to me. I have not played it though. I didn't know much about Dune, but have recently watched the movies and read a couple of the books.... Now war for Arakkis looks like something I hope to get one day. Just can't justify the price for me personally.

If I got it correctly, in the last episode you're playing like a groupe of soldiers coming to clean up some aliens.. and I personally prefer the scenario of clueless people trying to survive them. I might be wrong though

Hey EZ also I have now been playing a few games of Company Of Heroes 2E and OH MY GOD it may just be the best game I have ever played! It's amazing at 1vs1 and 2vs2 and the mechanics and ruleset are just sublime with the changes they made in 2E. It is tense and exciting from beginning to end with such a lot of juicy strategy and tactics and everyone I have played it with can't stop thinking about it. It may well equal Forbidden Stars to become my joint No. 1 game of all time. Seriously.

Enjoy your new games! Great picks! I previously owned Stardew Valley. We played it twice with my wife. (That's my personal opinion) The first few rounds were fun, but it became repetitive and it's suuuuppppeeeerrr lucky! (although, sometimes it leads to unpredictable and funny outcomes) Conversely, the game is adorable and very thematic, especially for people who are fans of the PC game. @@ezbgames I played Fractal and oh man it was so dull... the guy who bought it also sold it soon after without even giving it a second play. The mass of iconography is confusing and It was visually and mechanically really nothing special.

You did well getting first Nemesis! I loved that game the - sadly - only time i played it. Don't own it myself, and I've played lockdown a few times since - but frankly i found the electricity mechanic in Lockdown really annoying. The first nemesis was a great, solid game - and i think the two "re-makes" of it (now they're making a third one... raised a wild $15m on kickstarter, but you prob alreayd know that) - well i think those are just business moves to milk the franchise. Not bad games by any means, but i think the first was def best!

My own game has undergone huge changes also since you last saw it - a lot is streamlined now, it's still very much the same concept but very different gameplay now - well, every day it's getting closer but I'm still working out the kinks before i bother you with it again hehe. So good to hear from you!! 🤩 Yes, they made a nice amount of money from these games, but what's the difference between this one and another Marvel movie for example? They're just giving the people what they're asking for. Not to talk about another zombie game from another company haha For Ultramassive, I'm not going to review it (I never review games I get for free) but I will do a how-to-play video, yes :) I can't wait to see the changes you've made in your game and to playtest it again 😊😊 How is Heroes of Might & Magic for you? @@ezbgames I wasn't criticizing nemesis - it made sense to release sequels, in their place i probably would also do the same - and the sequels still are good games - i just think the first was still the best, so you chose well ;) I actually just did a playtest of the new version of my game last night, with Alex and another friend - like i said i think the game flows way better now, it's really different than before, the turns are much faster, a lot of the same concepts from before are still there - but they now serve different/simpler purposes, and the whole game now is effectively about a number of ticking clocks that are all pushing us to act and if we don't act fast enough, then bad things happen - but still a few things that i thought were gonna be simple/fun/useful - were not quite. So i'll do few more tweaks and will invite you for the next revision's play test in few weeks if you're up for it. I'm quite excited for the game, but also I won't lie - nearly a year later, i'm just dreaming of wrapping that project up already haha. It's closer every day - but still needs a bit more work. About Heroes - I started painting the minis. I never in my life painted anything or don't even think i owned a single mini - but for the sake of nostalgia (Heroes3 is my childhood) i delved deep into mini painting with all those figurines. A little voice in my heads screams at me over how nerdy and time-consuming it is heh - but on the other hand I've really enjoyed it. Between two work-heavy long term projects now (my board game and a completely unrelated movie project I've been working on in Syria in the last year) - I'm constantly working on something with no clear end in sight now so painting the minis in last weeks has become like a little meditation break from work hehe.

If you like Nemesis but you might find more satisfying killing other olayer rather than monsters, you will need to play Stationfall. Big disclaimer: it could look at first a big party game but it is actually much more deep than that.

Space Empires 4x should come with this text on the box: Warning, this game can ruin your social life, have you lose your employment and fuse you with your chair. It also carries the potential to cause severe cases of tourette and make random objects to randomly take flight and crash into walls. Also, tokens, tokens, tokens, tokens, tokens, tokens, tokens.... My recommendation for crowd funding at the moment is: The Thinning Veil - Cormac Mac Airt on the Other Side of Midnight Yes, that is the game's name. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Edit: I pass on the giveaway.

@@ezbgames If you hate tokens, many many tokens, square ones with small prints and information overload or if you are color blind, you might have have found your own personal hell. If you like upper-medium complex but super deep and widely open tactical and strategic gameplay with an emphasis on memory and quick mental arithmetic, that can stretch on time wise, you will be in absolute heaven. I'll be in France somewhen in October. Not sure if I will hit Paris. Since I live in Berlin, for a large part, and Paris is like Berlin, just worse, it isn't one of my "I really have to hit it again" places. 🥴

I've heard quite a lot and all of it was excellent. I don't know.. usually I don't pay much attention to their games, but this one has an incredible table presence and it looks interesting. So... why not..? you know? :)

I am sad to see SV go. We just played it yesterday for the second time. The first time we totally lost 😂 but at three players, we were much more efficient and we finished in the first round of winter. Also, you might need to do it updated 4X video because there's going to be a big Star Trek announcement tomorrow. Are you excited for it?

That's exactly the thing.. you need to play with most, if not all, characters in krder to win. So I'd say it's not well balanced..? I am definitely going to do another 4X video very soon because there are a lot of new things out there innthe last year. It's one of my next videos for sure!

Risk my first modern board game, still have it ahahaaaaha🤣 Have the Space Empires 4X in my shelf still waiting for me... My concern with this one is the "Civ flow"... because that seems you are really constructing a civilization very slowly and then after a while you get the good meat (fights!!!)... when normally I prefer a more early confrontation style of game (Exodus Proxima Centauri/Ecplise (and god I hate Eclipse 😡) )... Maybe it's my perspective but I'm dying to play it 😅 The Dune... oh boy I'm trying to get it so bad!!! I love Star Wars Rebellion and War of the Ring and Dune are getting a lot of amazing feedback and just like the LOTR I love the books 🥲 About CMON... Don't be mean to the Blood Rage it has the CMON old logo but it's still a CMON title ahahaahahah Amazing collection keep strong!

I'm not leaening Twilight Struggle and... even though this game seems simple, the rulebook is not the most friendly. But we'll see 😊 Thank you for always commenting my friend. I've been interested by La Granja for a while, but I get why you wouldn't want to keep too many farm games. The new acquisitions all look amazing! I'm intrigued to hear what you think about them. Also, I was wondering if you generally find your second-hand games in local stores or online? I generally find them locally, I look on BGG and Okkazeo but I haven't found that many good options (due to shipping, etc.) - except for Star Wars Imperial Assault, happy I got that one!

So happy you commented :) Well, I think 100% of the games I buy second hand are on line. Okkazeo is a super good website if you put the alert on time and you know the prices you want to get. Sometimes you can get some interesting deals on Leboncoin and also of course BGG.. Where do you find your games locally? I would love to find a place ☺

@@ezbgames I currently live in Switzerland and I recently went to different local stores around me to check what they have, and it turns out one of them has a "consignment shelf" where you can leave your games and they display them to try to sell them for 6 months. I recently got Merchant's Cove with all expansions (additional characters), it was around the price of just the base game and it turns out I really like it, so I'll probably visit again soon. They currently have some games I want to try like Twilight Imperium and This War of Mine, but I try not to go too crazy :) And if something looks good but I'm not familiar with it, I try to watch videos before I actually purchase it. Thanks for the tip on the alert on Okkazeo, I'll try that! And I didn't think of Le Bon Coin, will check it as well since my parents still live in France

@@denaiir4775 That's very cool to find a game with all the expansions for the price of just the base game. A few videos ago I did a review for This War of Mine and I got to tell you that this is an AMAZING game! I think you won't regret taking it. TI4 is a bit of a different story.. it shines with larger groups and take basically a whole day to finish. I would say that everyone should play at least once, but I don't know if someone should own it..

Another giveaway already? Crazy! Thank You for your video about Europa Universalis. I played it with 2 friends and I was soooo mad. I really want to like it. It has everything. But it is way way way to complex and just not a pleasent experience. I will pass on the upcoming Gamefound. Hopefully. Any chance for more Voidfall or StarCraft content?

Besides normal streamlined rules ;) I have 6 videos in total for Voidfall ;) Tell me what would you like to see for Starcraft! 🤩 I should do something to honor this game

Space Empires 4x is a unique but realllyyyy ugly game, which has basically remained unchanged in looks since GMT first made it, which I think is really a shame. They have now changed the cover art on the boxes but all the in-game art and components are still fugly as hell. There is a new and final expansion called "All good things" soon to be released which you can find on GMT's website. I ordered everything but I honestly don't know if it will make it to the table very often.

Oh and I forgot to mention that 3D printing or buying organizers is ESSENTIAL for this game, do not even try to play for the first time without them because organizing the tiles for setup each time without organizers takes freaking ages. Seriously.
