The Remoska is brilliant, I’ve used one for about 8-10 years in the house and hardly ever turn the oven on! I do Cottage pie in it, then have a spare dish, so the rice pudding can cook in that while we take the first dish to the table to dish up the cottage pie. It will cook a full English, start with the sausages, then after they are half cooked, add bacon, then towards the end add eggs. If you want mushrooms add them with the sausages or bacon. Jacket potatoes, roll in rapeseed or olive oil with salt then bake for a crispy skin. So many choices... Brilliant therefore for campers if you haven’t come across them before. Love your channel, while I dream of owning a camper-van. Loved your tour of Scotland, best things to buy, cupboard tour etc etc 😍

Bought our Remoska when we had our first campervan 12 years ago as we only had 2 gas rings. I still use it at home now. Makes perfect jacket potatoes and as I’m now on my own I use it to cook any ready meals I might have. Much more economical than putting them in the fan oven.

Hadn't even thought about jacket potatoes, great idea!

The Remoska looks like an interesting option for a campervan. Fresh homemade bread would be great to have. Its worth trying (Irish) Soda Farls, you can do them in just a pan (or the Ridge Monkey) - they are a flat version, that you flip over half way through cooking. Slice in half to eat - great toasted - they would be easy to do in a van. I've done them at home, just used normal blue top milk. A flexible panel like that is great to have as an extra , very easy to store and you can just pop it on or in the windscreen when you are parked up. Good info.

Thankyou for reminding me about soda bread, many years ago I used to make it.

The power bank looks great, can I ask though why you would need one if the campervan has two leisure batteries? Is it just as a back up?
@CampervanTime
@CampervanTime Год назад
Backup yes, but also in many campervans you can't use the 240v sockets when not plugged into the mains as they don't come with an inverter built in. So if you want to use a hair dryer, electric kettle, toaster etc, you can't without having some form of 240v. These give you that and are easy to move around too, inside or outside of the van.

Hunting out and bringing to your subscribers attention all these interesting and/or novel additions to the camping/campervan experience is the very best of your channel as it is not well covered on many other channels. You should definitely do more of - want to do this when camping - here are the options we have researched and these are the ones we will demo. They are great. How about an update one on staying cool? Seems to be very topical at the moment.
@CampervanTime
@CampervanTime Год назад
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. We did do a video on keeping cool a while ago, but these days it's a little outdated with things like portable aircon units etc! Check it out though if you haven't seen it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jIHjvq9O9TE.html

@@CampervanTime yes, watched that one, the air con and recent extreme heat was why I thought an update would be useful, I also expect you may be researching for your new van. Not too long now, you must have itchy feet!

The remoska is fantastic, we have one for our van - they do a recipe book which is great - we managed to cook a roast in ours, and soda bread! Btw, the lid has a built in stand - the black lump at the opposite end to the handle, simply turn it over and it will stand upside by itself, quite steady - just be sure to place it so you don’t burn yourself - it does cool down pretty quickly though. Enjoy! 😀

We use a Remoska, no need for an oven in the van. Even use it at home as it cooks using less power.

Víko po upečení otočte vzhůru nohama a to držátko slouží na opření. Remosku vlastním 20 let a je fajn i doma v kuchyni. Je v ní supr pečené kuře. 👍

Thank you for the tips! I’ve just popped this into Google translate and for anyone else reading: after baking, turn the lid upside down and the holder will slide off the support. I've owned a Remoska for 20 years and it's great in the kitchen at home too. it has super roast chicken in it

Hi both - great video, very helpful! I was so struck by the 99W output of the SF100 panel (in your garden in October!) that I'm thinking of buying some - hope it wasn't a fluke!! Can confirm how they perform generally? Thanks very much, Mick
@CampervanTime
@CampervanTime 11 месяцев назад
Yes, no fluke! It does seem to work really well and I think it is down to the way the top layer of (clear) plastic has been designed on the solar panel, which is textured in a way to reflect light from multiple angles towards the panel and make it so that you don't need to get it 100% lined up to meet the panels rated output. It's clever!

I use a cheap set of pocket "drug dealer" scales in my van. Works a treat and takes up very little space

Seriously thinking about one of these. My van hob will only take a pot up to 8 inches across the base, so could you tell me what the width of the base of the dua is please? If it's bigger than 8 inches I would need the prima. TIA.
@CampervanTime
@CampervanTime Год назад
We can measure it to be sure, but the paper inserts we bought from Lakeland are 20cm ones so the base is probably slightly larger than that. Remember if you bought a dua you can use it on its own stand and then in the future (or in the house??) you might have a larger hob maybe?
@lesleycrawford7244
@lesleycrawford7244 Год назад
Thanks for your reply 🙏. Our van hob has two burners, they can only take 8 inch base pans, and they are sort of sunk, so can't risk anything bigger. We don,t have an oven, and would run it off a battery bank, like you. Looks like the prima would be the best bet. I have a halogen at home, so all bases covered!! Thanks for the useful video 👍

I bought the R600 power station on this review and am now stuck with a dud unit. The customer service from this company is non-existent- looking at the complaints on trustpilot I don’t think they even have a UK based customer service. All I can advise is- proceed with caution!

Really sorry to hear that. If you haven't managed to sort it yet you can try popping us an email and we'll tell Allpowers via who we know to see if we can help.
