Kirstie as Santa. Puppies! The food. The table full of love. It is officially Christmas for 2023 in my heart! They all look amazing and the song is WOW! ❤❤❤❤❤
Okay so from what I've been hearing...the gifts (some easter eggs here)...the gavel for Matt is in reference to his wife just getting her law degree. The glasses for Mitch are in reference to his side project and alter ego, Messer (he wears those glasses). The book for Scott is in reference to the new children's book that he and his husband Mark just published, and the iffy one but is cool if it's true is the salt and pepper shakers for Kevin...PTX did a thing on Tik Tok where they all tasted a spoon of either salt or sugar. They never said who had the salt, so we think that it means that we finally know that Kevin is the one who got the salt.
The first thing I thought about the sunglasses was that it was a refference to the sunglasses he took from Matt all those years ago in the story Matt tells about when he 1st met Ptx, I think it makes sense because it was Matt giving the gift, but yeah both make sense!
Love how Mitch kind of scowls at the sunglasses. Since I discovered PTX, Christmas has not been the same! Their Christmas songs are the only ones I listen to anymore at Christmas time.
Home Free has some beautiful Christmas videos, too. I especially love What Child Is This on Chris Rupp's RU-vid channel! Home Free + Chris Rupp! All 6 HF guys together and it's amazing! And few react to it. But, yeah. Pentatonix IS Christmas! There's no denying that! ❤
This is an original written by lead singer Kirstie.. She looks great, sounds fantastic and those background singers are pretty good too. 😊👍 Loved your reaction and the song certainly has a Christmas sound to it because this talented group of people have the essence of Christmas in their DNA.
She’s so beautiful and so talented!! Her voice is powerful and this sounds to me like a classic already!! Love this performance and actually I end up here after watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade when I saw them for the 1st time singing this song and I was hooked!!!
Viking I commented during the premiere, and I just wanted to reiterate You Sir are a joy to watch. I love your uninhibited emotion and the fact that you wear them on your sleeve for everyone too see. Definitely becoming my favorite (notifications = instant watch) Reaction channel.
It is an original, but I agree with you 💯 it feels older and has a very much Mariah Carey sound to it. Absolutely love this song. Another great reaction to Pentatonix (my favorite artists). 👏🙌
The gifts reminded me of White Elephant gifts, where a group brings gag/joke/ugly/useless gifts to a party and randomly picks and opens them. It's supposed to be funny, but I've never fully understood it. But it was fun watching their reactions! (Personally, I thought Mitch looked hot in those glasses, but his fashion sense is much more stylish than mine, lol!)
I was surprised by the instruments to be honest! It’s a great song but I love their a cappella stuff because it’s so impressive. This is catchy song and they did a great job!
Good job jumping right on this one! I have no clue about the gifts either. But with Kirstie as the Christmas fairy, it’s perfect for the final gift to be puppies. She’s a dog lover through and through. I always enjoy your reactions, thanks. Peace …
Great video for a Great Song, Kirstie killed it! I've listened to this whole album twice already while running errands today. LOL This is one of the 8 new songs on the new Album "Pentatonix The Greatest Hits". "Pure Imagination' is beautiful with Mitchy's pure angelic crystal clear voice.
I was thinking the same thing! - the first Mariah Carey Christmas album I ever heard, what a nostalgic vibe. Takes me back to family holidays, heart and soul of Christmas, and (much) better times. Thanks for sharing this one!
omg 😍 this advent calendar idea is great! "joyful joyful life" and "Oh come all ye faithful" have to be on this list!! Please! Also, my personal favorite is "Thats Christmas to Me" but that's maybe a bit too unpopular...
Sure, I wanted to say that I've seen almost no one react to it yet because usually only the most popular songs get attention (which are sadly always the same ones)@@UserHorologium
This was written by Kirstie. There is a "behind the scenes that is so cute. I'll find the link and put it with my reaction as a "reply". Kirstie is the new "Diva". Scott and Mark got married on 7/7 of this year. That is the reason for the "7".
Yep, it's an original written by Kirstie. The 7 on Scott's necklace as well as his 7-7-7 tattoo on his wrist represent his wedding which took place on 7/7. Great reaction, and kudos for getting it in on day one!
Yup! They had a tattoo station set up at their wedding and both Mark and he got themselves tattoo'd with 7-7-7 ( day, month and year ) of their wedding The year 2023 adds up to #7.
Scott wears a '7' because he and Mark got married on 7/7 of this year - since 2023 adds up to 7 also, they both got a '777' tattoo on their wrist at the wedding. A triple 777 represents 'good luck', 'prosperity' and 'spirituality'! I might know too much about this group!! 😂🤣 Also, this song is an original written by Kirstie and I think Kevin - 🥰 It's a KEEPER for certain! As always, I love your reactions to this group - ☺
I'm cracking up because of the visual of your right hand reaching out - it looks like you are feeling Kirstie's um - Christmas bulbs? Your hand disappears from view - it's really funny.
I agree that this song should become a Christmas classic - but then, I've always thought That's Christmas To Me should have become a Christmas classic, and it's never gotten the attention I think it deserves. But the video on this has a little more action than TCtM, so maybe it will catch on a little more with non-Pentatholics - who I know are going to be loving it!
Thank you for the great reaction to this beautiful Pentatonix original song and video for it. They did an excellent job of bringing the joy. Kirstin is the Christmas fairy in this video. I will be looking forward to more of your Pentatonix reactions. When you start your Christmas reactions, please react to their live performance: Pentatonix - Joyful, Joyful (Live from The Evergreen Experience). It was part of their 2021 tour.
To me, this sounds like it's in the style of Phil Spector's "wall of sound" recordings from the 1960's -- lot's of vocal harmonies, lots of doubled instruments, etc. The style has been copied ever since, especially for Christmas songs. Spector did a seminal Christmas album in 1963 called "A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector", featuring some of his artists like The Ronettes, The Chrystals and Darlene Love. One of the other 8 new songs on this year's PTX album is a cover of Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" from that album.
First! Not me, but YOU! I saw the video when it was about an hour old and you're the first reaction I've seen to it. But you probably won't be the last reaction that I watch. This is a great original song and it has Pentatonix Christmas DNA running all through it. Great reaction! Cheers!
This was posted about the gifts and I think they are on to something. A few hidden 'Easter Eggs' in the new Please Santa Please song. Mitch gets glasses as a reference to Messer, Matt gets a Gavel for his wife's law degree, Scott with a book as he just published one, but what is Kevin's referring to? I can't make it out? Mitch looking gorgeous as usual. 🥰❣❣❣
Here's my theory on the gifts. Kevin got salt and pepper shakers. Last year they did a Tic Tok where one of the 5 ate a spoon of salt vs a spoon of sugar and we had to guess who got the salt. Many thought it was Kevin or Matt but they've never told us so I think this answers that. Mitch's sunglasses may be a reference to MESSER and a recent video he put out, the book for Scott may be because him and Mark just published a children's book, and the rubber mallet Matt got may be because his wife just passed the bar exam. All theory of course. Love to hear what others think.
There was a Tik Tok about who gives the worst presents. I assumed the gifts at the table may be a reference to that. Then of course the Christmas fairy, Kirstie, left a box of puppies. She is a huge dog lover. At least that's my take on it.
I think your on to something Melissa... Because that's something they would do in reference to see if the Pentaholics are paying close attention.. They are so clever
I believe it is Kevin who got that gift. My first thought was that is salt and pepper and represents his interracial marriage. He and his wife are ADORABLE together. ❤️❤️
For your information - Kirstin & Kevin were the main writers of this song. It has that classic holiday sound to it so even though it's a new original, it sounds like we've heard it forever. And, yes, Maria Carey classics do come to mind in genre. I thought Kirstin looked older here, but to be honest - Kirstin was sick when they filmed the video so the the dinner settings had to be restaged, - I think it worked really well since it shows friendship and holiday affection - and puppies! Who can’t love puppies forever on Christmas?!
Her voice has matured but here Kirstie has the same easy going, soothing quality that I loved in Sing Off #8. I wonder where she is as she is not there with the rest of the group.
