why shouldn't people care if it's quartz or not, if you like wearing mechanical watches then why would you spend $3000+ on a quartz watch... what exactly even costs so much money to produce the watch? If it was mechanical to get the movement to fit into such a small case is a work of art, for a quartz watch some factory in india could make it fit without spending 20 minutes figuring out how. it's stainless steel, so no precious metals, the strap is a good quality alligator leather, the design is unique but not hard to produce... the crown is quite nice and is probably a bit harder to produce... but it doesn't entice me to spend that type of money on a quartz watch

do you know anything about the quality or the quart movement? i'm just asking because a grand seiko quartz is superior to most mechanical movements. Also, Cartier is not about the movement, it's about the way it looks, it's a pure historic style icon.

@@yaakovhassoun8965 Functionally watches are almost worthless outside of specific social situations where you can't openly look at your phone. Outside of the most complicated of movements that are far outside of this price range, nothing is really impressive, and definitely are marked up in orders of magnitudes over its cost to produce. If you're buying a watch for its material value you're almost guaranteed to waste your money. The only real metric you can consider here is its artistic value to you, and to other people, if that's what you're going for, and that is entirely subjective. For me, the art is the appearance. For you, the abstract and heavily marketed historical pedigree and / or engineering.

With the Tank you are buying the icon and that is what you pay for. It is a very special watch. Definitely interested in seeing strap variations!

I own a watch very similar to this , a Eberhard made , tank homage. But mine is solid 18kt gold , has a onyx dial with only the letter E on it and uses the ultra slim Frederic Piguet Cal 21. Such a lovely little dress piece.

I recommend trying it with Cartier’s bracelet: Different look and feel, and perhaps makes it more like jewelry than a timepiece. I have the blue version of this and I’m quite pleased. The diagonal (or longest line) on the rectangular dial is ~30mm, which is about the minimum dial diameter for my round watches before I find watches getting too small for me.

I know it a quart movement, does it stop when you stop wearing it for a day? I noticed my large tank must with roman # stop when I don't wear it for a day.

Hi, so this one does not stop it keeps on running until the battery is done - thats the perk of Quartz movements. On the contrary it seems like you have a manual wound movement. It needs to be charged by hand by turning the crown. Hope that helps ✌🏻

It's a gorgeous watch, however not limited. I tend to shy away from "investment" watches. Will the watch appreciate over the years? - maybe. If you can find a good deal I'm sure you will enjoy it.

It still has hands , no? Not THAT hard to guestimate what time it is. Just divide the dial into 12 imaginary parts. Might be tough for people who lack spatial ability..
