I have had a business idea for about a year which I believed in, but was scared to take myself seriously and dedicate time to it because it would take the focus away from my studies. My business was stagnant and my personal life as well. I was living at my office, with three more months before my lease ended I came across your video the fear of success. In that video two things resonated with me very deeply I re-watched your video for one month straight every day several times a day while I was driving brainwashing myself so that my brain will take initiative so that it can react differently from what I’m used to. After that I signed a two-year lease to a brand new apartment bought the car that I want from there for one month I faced a very awkward timeframe which confused me because I was uncomfortable with luxury. I meditated for one month every day for 20 minutes and realize why I was uncomfortable. My father‘s voice in the back of my head , My family, friends, people I didn’t know their voices was putting me down judgment was holding me down I felt so uncomfortable I wanted to return the car. When I realize that it was those voices one month later I forced myself with every bone marrow and fiber in my body to get rid of it, now I can genuinely feel I want more from life in every aspect thank you very much for your perspective and your words of wisdom

I noticed that every good pitches Dan showed in the video all use the word 'help'. What I learn from that is,you are not trying to sell. You are offering a solution to a specific problem that people may have or dreams they want to realize. My biggest challenge right now is the narrowing part.

You literally changed my thought process. Now I believe in a skill economy than a job economy. I see your copywriting and marketing classes regularly which developed me as a person and a thinker. This is so true. I’m not (yet) in the business, I’m doing PhD, and that was a mistake I was doing during last 3 years - wanted to be an expert in everything, was ready to learn everything for everyone in a need and accordingly solve their problems. What on one hand is good as I’ve learned to quickly change the mindset in order to grasp a concept from a totally new area to me. But yes, being broadly oriented is a treasure but narrow down your service is what is needed to be successful. So yes, this is what started to be on my mind for a while, choose a subject to focus on. And as, unfortunately, it is hard for me to answear that. In that video, you provided one aspect to consider that I was not thinking about: "players with money". Again, thank you for sharing your wisdom and giving so many clues! Much appreciated!

Dan, my story is this.. Over 15 years ago I invented a method of stacking wind turbines with a unique and patented design. I made models out of balsa wood to prove it works and started approaching and impressing industry leaders. I'd never had much money but saved and saved enough to build a fully working prototype 3D printed version, again impressing industry leaders but they were coming back with "What does the power curve look like?" I saved again and three years ago I hand built a full sized aluminium and steel working version and had it tested at Durham University but my own knowledge of matching the blades with the power unit didn't produce quite the right results. I've since been to the European Wind Energy Agency Conference in Amsterdam and impressed many with my design. Again, I'm saving up my money to pay a specialist Electrical Engineering firm to prove my design with computer modelling. All of this time, as I move into my 16th year of the project, I've never given up my belief in my wind turbine design. I've just watched your 'What To Do When things Are Not Working' video and, of course, you're right. I'm going for the Championship! Some may say that 16 years is too long but I say 'Necessity is the Mother of All Invention'. As we're moving into the age of the electric car demand for power, remote power - will be high and, perhaps for me, my time will be here. Never EVER give up! Your videos are indeed an inspiration and for this I thank you from my heart. Keep up the fantastic work that you don't have to do. hey Dan, After spending nearly all my life in a butcher store knowing I have a gift to socialize and connect with people, and very able to get there attention and persuade them, I gave up my job to become a salesman, knowing I have a mortgage to pay or I will lose the roof above my head. I don't have a school degree of any descent background but im hungry! hungry for more! I have never been so motivated in my life to succeed! And tomorrow I have my first interview, people who are looking for young sales talent with little or no experience like me. and looking at your video's really motivates me and gives me a lot of self confidence! thanks for alle the inspiration!

Excelent video. It resumes a lot of the sales process in a few words. I was shocked with the last part: "I'm not in the business of turning losers into winners...". I need to rethink how I do business.

Thank you for this Dan. I am at the beginning step of forming a busniess. The besttake away from this has to be Position Narrow Reach Wide. It is really going to help me define my elevator pitch, lock down what I do and attract the right customers for my busniess.

I really enjoy the wording and approach you use to speak about the topic of niche marketing. "Position narrow, Approach wide" (Niche Marketing). Watching you videos have made me realize the concepts of sales and marketing is a constant but our approach and mindset needs to change to continue High-Ticket Sales.
