Right on Kris. Glad you love our new Dynamis amp! I am super happy with how this amp turned out. I am gonna have to get one for myself! I actually build these amps at Revv!
Aww man, I love it! I didn't think it's possible to make the original Dynamis even better but you guys pulled it off. Huge respect for making these awesome amps and pedals! Cheers dude!
Really nice feel in your intro, Kris. I too love that JTM45ish sound. If you don’t sell your 7/40 for the D40, a preamp tube change should give it more headroom. A cleaner V2 and/or PI tube might help. A 12AT7 in the PI slot might just do it. That’s likely where most of the overdrive on the clean channel is generated. A 12AT7 will stay cleaner at the same volume. Definitely check which power tube brand is in there, and if they might be biased hot. They may need changing anyway and are getting weak & fizzy. That can happen gradually so you don’t notice it. The designer/builder of Brunetti amps in Italy said the new TAD Redbase 6V6GT-STR (made by Psvane) ”are probably the best 6V6 I've used so far”, and they aren’t all that pricy. The older reviews on the TAD site can’t possibly be about the new Redbase version. I’d try those and bias to 60~70% at most to reduce distortion. I also wonder if you’ve ever tried the Tung Sol 7581A RI power tubes in any 6L6 amps? It’s a Mil-spec 6L6 with a 35W/500V rating, and is tighter, warmer, and rounder sounding than 6L6GC, like a KT66 without the high price or need for a high current PT to sound good. Make sure to get the “7581A” if you go for them. The older TS “7581” is just a rebottled 6L6GC.
That chug tone is great! IMO the sound of a mid gain amp being pushed over the top with an OD is much more pleasing than a high gain amp. There's a reason the JCM is a classic, can't do very high gain on it own, but with an SD-1 and humbuckers, you can get some of the best tones out there.
I attended a Revv Roadshow demonstration at Lidgett Music in Council Bluffs IA, (the greatest guitar shop ever)!!!!’ This amp and the other 3 they had were absolutely incredible. Probably the best amp I’ve heard in years and maybe ever. It seriously does everything and does it fucking better than good. This amp is absolutely Unreal
Absolutely! The list of awesome things from Canada is super long. 🤗 The Bros. Landreth, Revv, Phil X, Empress, maple syrup, etc. It’s an endless list. 😅
Great video! For small (and low volume) recording conditions, does it somewhat replace the OxBox function? Does it have a direct out to connect directly to an interface? Thanks, and great playing also!
Hey there, It's Shawn Tubbs with REVV amps. Yes, you can absolutely run this amp direct out into an interface or console. The amp comes with the Two Notes embedded reactive load and Dyn IR software. It basically has a Two Notes stereo Captor X built-in.
Thank you so much@@ShawnTubbs ! It's a very interesting product, I will consider. Don't know if you have representation in Portugal, but will look it up. All the best!
Doesn't seem like a bad price, compared to other high-end brands. Seems like good value to me, about the same as I paid for my Revv Generator 7-40 years ago...
@@phel21 The real cost is import duties, I believe, which are significant. I've imported a few guitars from the US to Denmark, and when summing up all the costs (shipping, import tax, extra handling fees in the import centers etc etc) it always ends up around +33% of the cost of the guitar, as listed in the US store.
