It's great that you illustrate how different sized riders and different sized horses have different contact points. I don't ride anymore, but I always felt like it was unfair that I had much different contact at 5 foot 3, than my friends who were 5 foot 6.
Thank you so much for this video! I have had many instructors that seem to not consider that people have different proportions and they just give corrections based on how THEIR bodies feel on THEIR horse, and don't realize that the things they are asking for are actually impossible without sacrificing some more important aspect of riding technique. I haven't thought about this issue for leg contact before but this clears up some of the questions I've had!
Excellent! I have long thigh bones and need a narrow deep or 'tear drop shaped' horse rib cage to be able to allow my legs to easily just lay on my horse's sides. My last 2 horses were the opposite shape: very wide backs that tappered inward. I'm looking for a new horse and will probably need a 17 hh TB again.
Oh my god, this is the video I have been waiting for!!! Since I started I have been confused about my lower leg, my new instructor is much better at telling me, but I am still not so clear, I can't wait to watch the rest!!!
