Being a Montana native, it got my attention right away! It is a little beauty on the eyes and carrying covert perfection. What I would like to see is Fischer Blades making a deal with you to do a complete training video on this blade (or ALL their blades). Their money would be well spent! I appreciate the training and tips you provided here. More women need to carry blades. A handgun has its limits and is much harder to conceal without carrying a purse. You are a true inspiration, thank you.

Enjoyed this video and thanks for posting. I ordered a Takumitak knife from one of your earlier videos and am extremely satisfied. It looks like a combination of Japanese appreciation for fine cutting instruments mixed with American functionality, and it is so very, very sharp. Very functional, simple, and for serious business only. Thanks for suggesting it in your previous video. Best Wishes.

I saw this knife the other day on Tactical Tavern's channel, and instantly thought you would appreciate it. That is one mean piece of AEB-L. Talk about a purpose driven blade. I think it's really nice and I would love to have it but 299$ is a little too rich for my blood at the moment. I might be better off buying a cold steel 4 Max scout. If I did have the money I would buy the 5 max instead but one of these days I got to get a Becker! It sounds too good to pass up. I recently got a civivi keen nadder and I'm really enjoying this recurved tanto. I figure it be a good little tactical knife and it's solid feeling, even more than my civivi brazen tanto which I also love.

Guys, in a clinch Situation you also need a sharpened top edge, and if even a short part from the tip to the half the top edge A reverse tanto ofers those option if double edged or tripple edged. And there are people who swear on the wharencliffe so a reverse tanto could give you definitiv MORE options, like slash and pullback slash in a row Please think always tactical, as if you were in every kind of Situation and movement as a non-perfectly-skilled Fighter as Most customers aren't 😉 But at all, a nice further tanto knife on the market, for those who need the thousands model. More clip options for the sheath are highly recommend for the next batch😉 I need options for natural, icepick and belt as only right handed man as most of people In my opinion MOST of the knifes are not intelligent enough designed, just traditional stuff without modern tactical ideas. There are three knifes I am thinking about in this Moment which confirm my thoughts a bit: TOPS Cali. Cobra TOOS Felony Stop T.Kell Nightguard tripple edged BUT all of this should have serrations to‼️

@@411Outdoorsyes I know😉, saw your Reviews. And thats what I am talking about, how many Holding positions and angles are possible with this Knife. Even If it is curved a bit to aggressive. But you can rotate IT so the tip ones shows down ones in a Clinch shows Up. Same Thing in the icepick grip, two different holds are possible, one less deadly more with the "Spike" and curved Blade the other as traditional karambit. Rotating is possible because it has a streight handle, No Ring. If the T.Kell Guardian 3-edged was a bit Pistol grip this rotations and Angles would be possible perfectly (excuse my Bad english)

Another great video! Re: Milk jug target I’m a big fan of using a roll of duct tape on the end of a string as a target. Drawing and striking a target at head height. Aim for the center of the roll and as the muscle memory gets better I switch to a roll of electrical tape for a smaller target. Then when it’s time let the target swing back and forth, now getting used to striking a moving target.

I like it. Don't know if I would be able to get one though. One of the other blades you looked at they don't ship to my location. Such is life with many of these blades. I have a number of blades I have carried in my front pocket. No clip, just the sheathed knife in my pocket. And I am able to draw them out leaving the ridgid plastic sheath in the pocket. I have my Cold Steel Pendleton Mini Hunter, a couple of the Kyoto models. They are very reasonable to buy and function well. This Beckwith Blade has my attention. Looking at that pocket clip, it looks like it's permanently mounted to the sheath. Does it come off? I like the idea of the blade being wide. If stabbing into an attacker, you can do more damage when ripping it out than some kind of thin blade. Just the width alone affects more area, greater chance of hitting something vital. That's what a fighting/defensive knife is all about. Doing as much damage as possible with the smallest amount of output. I have a number of knives that I really like and one that I have carried. That really appeals to me is my CRKT Strafe. I really do like this particular knife. Many other knives I have and like for EDC purposes are mostly too big. This Beckwith has a lot of very positive features. I like the sheath. The blade width and Tanto like shape. The thumb ramp can give you more forward thrust on the attack. And that handle size with the bird beak type hook helps keep it in your hand. Nicely designed EDC.

Thanks for the video. I don't think this knife looks all that visually attractive, but I don't consider the looks to be important for this knife's purpose. I'll never be good enough with a knife to justify spending serious money on this kind of knife. If I have to fight with a knife, I'm very unlikely to win. I might as well lose with something cheap or spend my money on some other tool that would give me a better chance to win. For someone who has the speed and skill to be effective with a knife in self-defense, I can see where buying a knife like this one makes sense. I like this knife being a fixed-blade knife. As you said, there's nothing to go wrong with deploying this knife. Moving parts are always points of vulnerability to failure. This knife doesn't look easy to carry, but you demonstrated the comfort factor very well. That factor is important. As many have said, the good enough knife in the pocket in time of need is better than the perfect knife at home in time of need.

Good morning sir. I'm so glad you did a review on this particular blade. I first saw this blade couple days ago on RU-vid and it definitely caught my attention. My concerns were being the blade is a bit on the thin side and was wondering how it would hold up if needed for defense due to the thinness of the blade. My mind I also compared it to the tops saw 02 in all honesty debating on which one would be a better suited for everyday carry for self-defense if needed. If possible is there any way you might be able to speak about the strength of this blade maybe do an example on your channel if possible?

I do like that knife but I've found a small fixt blade USA made also that size. The Bradford Guardian 3 in CPM Magnacut. It is also pricey at around $279. Comes with a leather scout carry sheath. I use a Armatus Architect custum Kydex sheath with the same kind of inside the pocket clip. The clip point sabber grind mades it easy to maintain the edge. For me it is the perfect small fixt blade that I can't imagine changing. Just thought I would put out another USA made knife that also checks all the things you mention about the Beckwith Covert. I also put carbon fiber scales on mine and my kydex sheath has a carbon fiber pattern.

While I don’t own a gun (yet), I am aware that it is not best to bring a knife to a gun fight. But at least with the Beckwith Covert, I am not completely unarmed. @@411Outdoors i know a lot of knife reviewers use the clip and it’s a tempting option but i think there are still a few advantages to static cord carrying method. string is widely available and costs very little. the sheath comes out of the pocket and then hangs outside of the pocket with the static cord method so it makes it easier to put the knife back into the sheath which just by being easier to put the knife back into the sheath opens up more carry options that you wouldn’t have with a sheath fixed in one place because it’s more difficult to get the knife back into the sheath. plus the pocket clip on the pocket is easier to distinguish as a knife so it is more noticeable. the pocket clip takes up the same real estate as a folding knife so you don’t get the additional benefit of comfortably carrying two knives in separate locations. like i can tie a fixed blade onto my first belt loop and it will ride in the corner on the other side of the same pocket as my folding knife and there’s room between them or i can tie it onto my second belt loop and it rides lower in my front pocket and higher up in my back pocket and i can switch pockets back and forth freely. it’s also good for driving because i can have my knife in my lap where i can get to it but it can’t fly around the vehicle because it’s tied to me which is also good for kayaking while fishing. i think the clips look great and i might get one but i think there is more educational value to the static cord and it is something that is so basic which everyone has immediate access to whereas the clip is another product with more limited function.

$300 for razor blade (AEB-L stainless) steel is over the top for a blade like this.
@411Outdoors
@411Outdoors 2 месяца назад
Definitely pricey, but a lot of custom blades in the USA are this way. I hate to say it, but I’ve spent more than that trying to find blades that I thought would be good that still didn’t have a good comfortable flow for everyday carry. And the catch with these blades is all about the design, their effectiveness, and their carry options. There’s also the mystery of knowing that someone that value and utilize what they don’t pay a good penny for. Just my thoughts, but I fully understand.

I don't mind spending money a quality product that is well designed, but at first I mildly regretted spending this much dough on the knife. Then I got it in the post, held it - and got to see and consume/feel the quality, care and all-around bad assery of the blade. This is an amazing little package. And the manual and other perks are really neat too. If you have the cash and like the concept - it is worth every penny and then some. A trainer would be a fantastic addition to the package. Great knife.

I absolutely love this knife! I love everything about it but the price. $300 is $150 too much for the steel you are getting. I bought a Dawson last month, MAGNACUT edc outcast $300. I carried it for two weeks before ordering it's bigger brother the marauder for $380 to be used as my camp knife. I say this because I've spent almost $700 in a very short period of time on just two knives. However both are a much better steel than the knife in your video. I love the of the covert. I really like the deeper pocket carry and could see myself indexing it on my non dominant hip everyday. I clicked your link credit card in hand only to exit the link and comeback here to essentially complain about the significant cost. Even D2 (also a better steel) knives in this design type are much cheaper. Why would a company charge so much and price out the consumer they are trying to target with with a defense edc blade? Great video though and if this blade hits a half off sale you better believe I will be all over it.

@@411Outdoors Thank you for your reply and a fast one at that. I have been eyeing the White river fire craft 3.5 as an edc defense/multi poupose blade. I went and checked and it's $150 on DLT right now. I say that because both the covert and fire craft have that pointy stabby tip but that's where the comparisons end. The fire craft is cpm 3v with cerakote, the fire craft sheath isn't easily concealable but it does have the ferro rod, the handle materials are about the same quality but one has a pommel and the other a finger hole with different ergonomics. I guess my point is that most consider the fire craft to be a custom knife from a custom knife maker or atleast the two companies are on par with each other, just one doesn't add an inflated cost to the consumer. As a fair comparison, both Merrell and Solomon shoes were worn on the bin laden raid. One cost $80 and one cost $200. Both were preferred by the tier one operators wearing them. Both got the job done and in the end I really don't think bin laden gave two s#its about the shoes the guys who shot him in the face were wearing. So I can definitely see fans of Beckwith overlooking the higher price to own a limited first production run. Thanks again for the great video and response.

@JohnGreyman
@JohnGreyman 2 месяца назад
@@fisherblades @fisherblades Thank you Mr. Fisher for your reply. I do realize materials used including the steel type don't encompass the complete process but it does normally affect the retail price. While I truly do love the knife you guys have designed please understand from a consumer standpoint it's expensive for the materials used in what is essentially a production knife. From the steel, to the handles and even the addition of the pocket clip on a kydex sheath doesn't add up to the retail price you are asking for the average consumer. I can also see some licensing fee's attached using the Beckwith name but that's essentially what the customer is buying with this knife, the name and bragging rights of having a Beckwith. My intention is not to offend but simply to point out that a lot of us guys (a wider margin of the knife community) out there look at materials used when justifying the price point on an addition to our EDC. Your design, the Beckwith name and product definitely scores a 💯 on the cool factor and that might just be enough for people to purchase it.
