The Perfect Rolex Watch 

The perfect Rolex for me is my 36mm Explorer (ref. 114270). Absolutely love how solid it feels, very easy to read, and understated. And if you think 36mm is too small, I am 6.2 and 178 lbs and it fits just right. It's just perfect!

I considered a datejust an OP and an explorer. In the end I went with an Omega Aqua Terra . It was just…there.

This has always been one of my favorites - I liked it several years back even before your first video about it when you revealed that y’all had bought these for each others and had a bad experience at the one AD before hand lol!! The white version that was produced only 2 years is the best OP they ever made. Creamy cool white with black dots, it’s just so timeless , classy and those who know know how rare it is!

At msrp sure, but not at the current prices. That’s how I feel about all Rolex watches. They are absolutely worth msrp but the inflated prices are too much. An OP that’s less than 10 years old used goes for $8k+, Explorer $9k+ and a Datejust $10k+. Look at Tudor, they offer most of what Rolex gives you for WAAAY less.

AD’s couldn’t give away the red grape OP’s when I managed to find my dark rhodium OP in 2017. I just sold it and cashed in on the current crazy prices. Don’t miss it.

Love the OP 39! I was considering (the black dial variant) one of these until they discontinued it. My daily wear is a Airking 116900 and also an IWC Mark XVIII. I would've been happy with the 114300 (black dial), the 214270 Explorer or my Airking. They all are excellent watches. The Airking was the only one that was still available at retail last year so that's what I got.

Love my OP39 blue. It makes a good argument for a true one watch collection. Mine has a 51hr power reserve. A home run for sure.

It’s nice, but perfect watch would have to have a date function. For me it would be a blue Rolex 126300 in oyster. Perfect all occasion watch that is obtainable with minimal wait time from an AD

I really wanted that watch at $5-6k. I saw it as the idea watch for me. It can be worn with anything from a blazer or casual suit to jeans and t-shirt.

That’s such a nice-looking, simple watch! I love it! I’d probably go with a 36mm though for my 6 1/4” wrist.

I feel the same about the Explorer. Simple, classic dial and a bracelet that is perfection.

The watch looks brilliant on you! I almost bought a white OP39, truly a perfect watch. Ended up going with the 114060 because I always loved the Submariner design especially without the date. Been wearing it most days though I mix it up sometimes. Also took it to Japan and the Netherlands so it's been in four countries including Switzerland.

Wearing my white version today, and most days! Is simply beautiful and elegant. And the bracelet is amazing. The clasp is great. No complaints. Thanks John.

I love your grape! I’ve been daily wearing my 14060m submariner for going on 17 years now and my 16 year old son is itching for it…. He will eventually have it on his wrist…. Just not yet!

Personally not an OP fan, I prefer the 39 mm size to the new 41 mm. I think the Stella color dials are better than the old dials in the 39 mm.

I agree. Even with the recent price increase, I still can't bring myself to sell my op39 rhodium. Even tho I should as I don't wear it enough, I won't.

Love the op 39, but i actually chose 214270, because a flat bezel looked a bit bigger on my 7.5 inch wrist, and i liked the explorer fliplock clasp with extruded rolex crown and ez link. Otherwise, i do love a op39, esp. The neutral color dial ones!

Great watch. I think people under estimate the breadth of the Rolex offering - there is a watch for all people for all occasions.

Op 39mm and explorer 39mm (which I think has the same case) are fantastic watches. Regret not getting the blue op when I had the chance.

Yes! I have one OP 39 gray dial model as well. And it only cost me 4000 USD in 2017. I really love it.

39mm is the perfect size i agree, i feel the same as you with my 39mm explorer, it rarely lefts my wrist, so comfortable and suits any occasion anywhere

Don’t even look for another daily. It is now you! It’s your trademark, it suits you so well. If you stop wearing it you will miss it….and so will we!!

Love it, I have the rhodium one and it’s just comfortable and dial catches the light. I really like the three lume markers as makes it stand out in a nice way.

I think the OP like the Explorer are great candidates for an only one watch person. Yours looks great on you. I prefer the sadly retired Rhodium with blue marks.

The perfect Rolex is different for everyone , but for me , it's the one that can be bought at retail.... Or the two tone DJ36.

I would be proud, yes proud, to wear a Rolex DateJust around my organ of generation.
