The PERFECT Way To Upright Rolled Containers. Hey RU-vid, I'm finally back in action on these huge wrecks and rollovers! Shoutout to Alex, Dave, my dad and everyone else who held down the fort while I was gone, but man does it feel good to be back in HULK, my 50ton rotator, handling business. I was joined by Alex in Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator, and Ricardo in unit 35, our 35ton wrecker. You'll notice my dad was on scene before us and that's because he got there first and straightened out the container for us to open up lanes.
We got there as he was putting the truck away and he let us work the rollover from there. The container was fully loaded with solar panels, so I estimate it weighed between 30,000-40,000lbs. Parking the rotators on the roof side would mean blocking half the freeway and that's not how we operate. In this case we decided to bring it to us, but room was pretty tight so barrel rolling the entire thing was the choice we made.
We've done quite a few barrel rolls, and I love them when you want to upright something in a controlled space. Not only does it look cool, but by having the equalizing sling on the wrecker up front it allowed the rotators to control everything and as you'll see, bring everything over so smoothly. Unfortunately, my camera equipment in Hulk wasn't fully ready and my camera died. I didn't have a chance to charge my stuff when I got back, and Alex's card ran out of memory at the end and he didn't notice. Not shocking, he did like 100 calls while I was gone for 5 weeks LOL.
