Content creator yes, Towing professional not even close. I'm in florida. We do recoveries every day on million dollar coaches in sand and mud without yanking the hitch off or stressing the frame by lifting it like that. Very educational on what not to do.
@bounderchris
@bounderchris 6 месяцев назад
Lol, I was watching this whole ordeal and thinking man, those people were dumb for bringing that rig in there and getting it stuck and even dumber for letting people who aren’t recovery specialists pull it out. They ripped the rear up, the cargo doors, the front fenders, I know they just took the front cap off so okay there maybe, but then to top it all off they lifted that rig up from the very back end of the frame, I could only imagine the sounds inside that rig when that happened…

This is a great example of how important it is to assess the situation. Extreme weight can result in serious damage. Using common sense and knowing the strong hook points of a vehicle is crucial to recovering a vehicle properly.

Agree completely. Don't EVER hook to a receiver without checking on the weight rating of it. That receiver was probably rated to pull 8k-10k at the very most. That wasn't ever going to be a suitable recovery point for this situation since that RV is probably thirty to forty thousand pounds.
@richardbause2453
@richardbause2453 6 месяцев назад
Observation: If they were first lifted from the rear axel and filled in the holes, maybe even swung it over alittle to some firmer material,then go to the front and lifted it from the axel adding just a little power when the pulling started ,then the damage might of been too severe. Doing things "gently" could result in a better outcome.🤔

Thank you SO MUCH for helping our family! After trying and digging all day long, we did not know how we were going to get that motorhome out. We don't think we would have gotten out without your help. You were a blessing and a miracle to show up as you did - giving. your time, talents and resources without asking anything in return. When we showed up out of the blue to ask for help, you didn't hesitate and said you would be there in a few minutes. You came back TWICE to help. even early Sunday morning, with all of your massive equipment - even when that meant taking time away from your families. AND then you took us up in your Black Hawk helicopter for our grandson's birthday! WOW! Thank you for that incredible experience, your huge generosity and your big hearts. It is inspiring. We will be forever grateful.

Please don't do this "swing it" stuff. In this video, there was several situations you created, maybe because of lack of planning. You might have: -Planed for an exit, before having the RV in tow. -Inspected the tow-hitch, so maybe you have decided otherwise. -Used radios, so maybe the parking break lock could be avoided. -Stopped at first chance to re-rig, to then exit out the best way. -Correct materials to have under the outriggers and could rest the RV on, so you could safely re-rig. -Secured the RV, so it could look safe to crawl under, to attach to the axle. Sorry, but this video looked lacy, and we all know you can do better.

But he wouldn?t come anywhere near us, Mighty neighborly, mighty neighborly. So we used a lot of our backs, a little of our brains We jacked up the jacks, and snugged up the chains, We all did our very best to refrain from shovelin?. We put what timber we had, underneath the wheels And we was all out of sand, but managed to steal Two sacks of the best modern canola seed you ever did see, That ?oughta give us some traction The Chev got stuck and the Ford got stuck But the Chev unstuck when the Dodge showed up But the Dodge got stuck in the tractor rut Which eventually pulled out the Ford We spilled genetically modified canola seed That was genetically modified for controlling the weeds And for big old yields and margarine oil, raised hell all over that native prairie soil Agriculture Canada is definitely gonna be looking for us

Idea: you guys deal with sunk tires all the time so why not get a big stack of aluminum military airdrop pallets? They can be modified and placed under vehicle tires to drive on or used as sleds to drag to better ground.

We have carried many sheets of 1 inch plywood on a trailer for jobs like this one. Lifting it and putting it on a couple sheets lined up in a path back to hard pack works for cement mixers. Lifting it a little with your riggers up and pulling at the same time sometimes helps. Of course no bungy effect doing this.

There's a certain point in recovery, where 'getting it out' is a whole lot better than leaving it stuck. What other/better ways could you think of to get it out? It's not like you're gonna sling it with some rotators 20x attempting to drive it out.

Probably why they weren't charged. I watch a program called Trucking Hell (which deals with Heavy Duty/HGV recovery in the UK including vehicles the same size/weight as that RV) in various scenarios (including stuck in Mud) and I don't recall one episode where they just continuously yanked a vehicle like that.

You need floatation matts under bus wheels, try 3/4 by 4x8 sheets glued together to 1 1/2 thick lay under wheels to get it moving . Over lap sheets so they don't jam under buss . Keep buss moving ! Thanks for helping them and keep up the good work !

You do realize that they fabricate metal and build vehicles, don't you? Being that they do these recoveries for free, I'm pretty sure they will completely repair any damage they caused and make things right. They have helped a lot of people in the past by fixing things for free that they didn't damage. You must not watch this channel very often.

In the beginning of the vid he says that the owner had some help attempting recovery before Dave and crew showed up and that he didn’t create the damage you see. The receiver did get pulled off, but it’s entirely possible it was failing before Dave attempted a kinetic pull. Judging by the damage beforehand, it’s a high possibility.
