South Boarder is the original of this song “Rainbow”… Jay Durias, he was the lead vocal of SB, jay is a big/huge dude but a gentle giant I’d say. Jay also composed/wrote this song. Shout out to my man Jay ❤. Extremely talented guy, well respected in the music industry in Php. And yeah you gotta react to SB’s original performance of this song. I had the chance to witness them, SB19 and Sir Jay Durias, perform it during SB19’s WYAT Homecoming Concert last December, which was a significant check off my bucket list as an OPM supporter 🤗. yeah, this is a cover. this song is originally composed and sang South Border back in the 90s. South Border' songs are mostly R&B that most of it became classic and/or official sound tracks for tv drama series. they had changed main vocals for the last 20 years, i believe, but they try to have the voice as close to the original main vocalist as much as possible.

It probably sounds familiar, because it reminds me of The Tony Rich Project's song, "Nobody Knows". At least that's what it reminds me of. I love this version, but also like the original by South Border too. It has that '90s R&B bass line to it.
