Based on my style and range of driving per day (15 to 20 KM) this vehicle would work fine for me in Jamaica where I live. There are no public charging stations available at the moment in Jamaica.

The lane assistant has two modes: 1st the one you mentioned with the break Intervention. And 2nd another one with the vibration alert by the steering wheel. The assitant decides by a intelligent logic which mode will be used. Furthermore there is an option in the car Settings how the lane assist should "recognizes" what you want to do: Did you want to change the lane (w/o blinking) or did you changed it accidantely. Of Course you can disable and enable the whole function completely.

You didn’t have much I info on range. I’m in the US, is there any chance we could see the gle350 de come to the states. Very disappointed the German brands have given up on diesels over here. Electric sounds great but for cross country adventures it’s Not remotely feasible for now. Please bring the diesels/diesel hybrids back.

I do not understand why you would mix diesel en ev. For the Netherlands that's a really stupid combo for roadtaxes.

You're carrying around that ancient technology called *engine*

I have argued for well over a decade that there is a business model for a Diesel plug-in hybrid. Yes, the costs of the battery and the clean-Diesel technology are high - but that is diluted in the middle-to-upper price range, and for people who need both (a daily shortish-range driver and a weekend long-distance get-away car with space), this makes a lot of sense. You pay a bit more but you don't need two different cars or the hassle and cost of tens of rentals per year. I would still like this approach extended to station wagons (lifted or not), because not everyone needs an SUV, and the lighter, the less battery required, which means lighter, so less battery, and so forth. Don't *over-battery* our cars! It is not wise and not really the way to go, environmentally. As to Diesels, as far as emissions are concerned, they are now way better than gasoline engines *in all categories.* I use "Renewable Diesel," which purports to use organic material not fit for human nor animal consumption, and not imported - and claims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 - 85%. That is on top of using 30% to 50% less fuel than a comparable gasoline engine...

Hey, hab mal 2 Fragen, 1. hat das Auto auch noch die Power von 320 PS und 700 Nm (Systemleistung), auch wenn der Akku leer ist? Und 2. was passiert mit den Fondpassagieren, wenn mir einer hinten reinfährt, der große Akku ist ja im Kofferaumboden und somit direkt hinter den Fondpassagieren??? Thomas didn't notice that there was another person in the car. That's kind of spooky.... Very interesting car But I can not digest the look of the side profile. That weird C side pilar is not for me. Thomas can you please move it backwards to where it should be....???

Will there be a 6-cyl PHEV or will it only be these 4-cyl?

The annoying part in plug in hybrid is the charging. Does it have the option of self charging, or the normal hybrid mood when it charge itself?

can we have consumption stats for this car and its petrol/electric peer? also how many km does one have to do to offset price premiums over non phev identical models? thanks

Can someone ask Mercedes to include the steering assist intervention in the lane keeping assist feature? I have this in the Volvo XC60 and it’s brilliant. Definitely should be included. It’s my favourite feature in the XC60.

I don’t think this car will last long….i see like engine switches rapidly from electric to diesel. So diesel engine is cold and getting rapidly 2500 or more rpm….this is brutal for engine
