All German brands are pretty much top notch in my book. I usually pick them through my own personal taste from the current looks. Currently, I like more the BMW looks (except the new 4 series🤮). So between the Audi Q8, the MB GLE and the BMW X5...I prefer the X5 without any doubt. As of now that is. But whichever you pick, you nailed it, they're all beautiful and awesome suvs. Can't go wrong on picking any of those luxury German brands.

Okay if you don't like floaty boaty then get the AMG. If you want max comfort which grandma and grandpa would enjoy and not "handling" because they don't know what that even means. Then get comfy. I don't think tech that's ahead of it's time is gimmick. Mercedes is always at the forefront of technology in automobiles. First air bags. A lot of tech in the 70s that didn't make it to maintstream cars until the 90s even 2000s. So these guys are always ten years ahead of other mainstream manufacturers . Save for other premium brands that compete directly with them

The leather seats I got in the 2020 GLE 450 are awful, the craftmanship is not Mercedes standard. I see better leather seats on the Hyundai cars. Still waiting for my dealership to replace the seats for me.

This looks like a vehicle designed for your wife... until she heard how much it costs.

I was shopping for a car earlier in the year and I was looking at the Benz C-Class. The bare minimum model starts at around $42K (and you'll never find a dealer anywhere that has the bare minimum model on their lot). When you start adding the needed features that are crucial in the northeastern winter conditions, the price jacks up exponentially! Even when you try to swap something more aesthetically appealing like seat colors or wheel colors/design, you immediately get a message that you'll need to upgrade to the AMG line. Seriously, MB is trying to sell the AMG line like it's the new oxygen. P.S This was the most fun Motormouth video of the year.....the bucking car, sailor hats, love handles et al. 😅

108K car then now being sold for 50K 3 years later. (by M-B dealership with 60K miles) So if you bought this for 108K you have to trade it in for about 40K max. thus losing 68K + another 5 K in tax. You would be losing around 70K after just 3 years! . Also the V-8 is very thirsty and you are supposed to feed it with premium fuel $ Add 10% if you bank financed it for interest%. that is 10K min. I estimate 25K for fuel and insurance over 3 years at 60K miles) Add another 5 K for maintenance. So now the cost to own it after three years is 110K . To spend 110 K cash you have to earn about 150K before tax. Avg loss 50k/yr. I know you can do it just saying it.

What a ridiculous price in us, I paid the gle 350 with full options more than 120k in Europe the gle 350 is more expensive than the 450 because of the electricity recharging which 450 don’t have the full version, the price of the gle 350 start from 108 k to 129k and the 450 is almost the same price even cheaper

Test drove one of those a few weeks back. One of the most boring and uninspiring cars out there. Feels like a RAV 4, only three times more expensive. The engine is a total joke and what is it with those cartoonish and silly screens? Jesus, this whole thing is just garbage. But hey, Merc will sell it`s bottom shelf crap to soccer Moms and folks who have no clue about cars.

You’ll be happy to know E-Active Body Control is absent from the 2021 US Order Guide. Guess the haters did it in. :( I believe it is available on the 2021 Mercedes S-Class if you really have to have it.

Even without considering the price difference, I think the Genesis GV 80 looks better on the exterior. Interior is a toss up.

To each his/her own but...I don't see why any one would want a firm ride in the CITY. Where there are pot holes galore. Surfaces that are less than flat. Entrances to condo or business driveways where the slope is not gradual enough. Air suspension I think is perfect for city driving. If you're honest with yourself. People driving Porsche 911's in the city...down Bayview Avenue...ummm...driving a tad too fast...hate to be you. :) Loose a filling. It's like the buyer who wants a "sporty SUV". WHY??? It's a SUV!!! Not a sports car. So much working against them (e.g. Ford Explorer ST, BMW X5 M..Lamborghini URUS...etc.). People buy into the marketing of "corners on rails handling" too easily. Not thinking about their road conditions. Or the fact that sports cars that "corner like their on rails" DO but on a race track where the pavement is usually well maintained. FLAT. Debris swept away before a race. Etc. "Ideal conditions"--where car manufacturers get their numbers and give to journalists to help sell their vehicles. No journalist says "...great ride but UNDER IDEAL TESTING CONDITIONS...". Never mind other realities such as--most buyers of high$ LUX SUV and sports cars/supercars don't h ave the skills to exploit the car's potential ev en 50% of the way. And 99% will never take their Lamborghini Aventador to the track...will be driven in the city at near speed limits.

My daughter just got GLE 350 used 23,000 miles on it, everything was great till start raining, leaking water left back side of the car, took it to the Mercedes dealer shop, . They told her they cleaned it up, it should be fine now. Then here comes heavy rain again , and start leaking again, and this time left and right backside leaking now. Call them, told her to bring it in, and they said they seen this problem before, then 2 days later, surprisingly told her that it is not covered with the warranty, and she should call her car insurance to get it fix.

Lease machine. Lease and dump.

9 grand for both suspension option is too much, considering you'll need to do pay for it against down the line once you need to have maintenance done on it. That needs to come down in price.

Good presentation overall - with one exception. No mention at all about the engine.

In my opinion, it's not an attractive vehicle. It looks too rounded, soft, and bloated-looking overall... And the front end looks like an angry pig with that giant Mercedes badge (pig snout). Plus their reliability and resale values are pretty terrible.Great review though, as always! Entertaining
