Philo will always be a legend. One of my favorite people to hear talk about the game.

I met this man at Maple Hill in 2016, and he's just as cool in person. He is a very humble gentleman, and just so fun to watch throw. Glad something like that epic throw happened to someone who deserves it as much as Philo.

Philo's shot is the reason I started playing disc golf. Playing in third tournament on Saturday!

Anyone, athlete or non-athlete, hopefully obtained the message Philo intended. Passion breeds success. Success garnered through achievement where there was one shot, and then to express by humble tone the appreciation for the opportunity, it is quite moving. Thanks Philo...

I'm from Oregon, and shot that hole many times - that hole is an absolute beast - you wouldn't think its even possible. Its' great to hear him talk about it. What a cool guy and an asset to the sport. Cheers brother!!

Philo is SO great. You never know when your big moment is coming and you're going to miss it if you aren't out there, playing, competing, and trying your best.

10 minutes everyone one needs to see for so many reasons on so many levels.

Listening to him you can hear his passion and love for the sport. And I love how he emphasized the "12 years of hard work...". A lot of people only see the final result, but never the hours/days/years put into something to place himself in that position to execute on that shot. Really awesome.

Philo is still as great of a player and ambassador of the sport today as he was 5 years ago. Innova should make a 2021 in the bag with him so we can see what he’s throwing these days

I had the honor to see Philo play at the Clash of the Canyons tournament at Dellwood in Lockport, IL this year's 4th of July weekend and he was dressed in a patriotic tshirt when I didn't see other players in those colors. Classy and respectful, right there! Great weather, great conditions, great players. I'm glad I got to see him play, along with all the men and women at his caliber. Everyone was cool. Great sport. Great time!

when i was first introduced to disc golf, I did some RU-vid research and saw a video with multiple great shots/aces, I specifically remember your Albatross, the flight of the disc and the tight fade at the end, the sound of the basket, the way you celebrated, it has always stuck with me and got me hooked into playing. Glad you are an ambassador to this great sport.

it was close to being my introduction to disc golf. i had only been playing for a few months and had just started watching tournament coverage when i found this video. amazing. and couldnt happen to a better man.

Philo is Disc Golf. A great player. A great Ambassodor. Now, my absolute favorite person to listen to on commentary from his course knowledge and insight to each throw and what it takes. Then his absolute joy when someone pulls something off that he knows is close to impossible or unlikely. I know he still loves to play and will play a smaller MPO schedule going forward, but he is the voice and joy of Disc Golf and I like it that way.

What a cool person, sweet and humble. You can tell he's still kinda in disbelief that it all happened how it did and more importantly, still very thankful it happened. Class act.

I love how a couple of the articles actually got it wrong and said it was an 850 foot hole in one! An albatross? No, that would be a gazelle. It's like a sheep bird horse thing with wings.
