Instead of being afraid, get prepared. We all know the government can not cover all of us in an emergency. Your family depends on you, learn skills, garden food, have chickens, have medical supplies.

The kind of cynicism that begets the acts that make you a billionaire…now THAT’LL make you project and fear people more than anything. I think you hit it. Also it can’t be ignored that these people haven’t had a normal interaction with the Rest of Humanity in some time. Imagine what they imagine the poor are actually like.

If billionaires have no hope for the future, why tf are we putting ourselves into so much debt by avoiding taxing them? Heck our government bends over backwards giving out corporate welfare and subsidizing losses. Why?

Yeah. There’s some freaky stuff. I guess I have enough faith in hubris to believe that a lot of these utopian projects aren’t going to work. I think they’ll fail. We’re never as smart or as powerful as we think we are, which is not to say that these kinds of experiments won’t cause a lot of damage.

3:05 If i might add nuance: it could be that money affords acess to stuff us normal people don't. Hence the belief that they have specail knowledge due to acess rather than intelligence. Not saying i fully believe the above statements but it could be thought differently when it comes to the "rich = knows more" idea. Keep up the great work!

I think toxic positivity can be more harmful than doomerism. A doomer might have clinical depression and be subject to a life with less control. A non-politically engaged optimist is just starfishing it and hoping the world gets better.

AI and UBI come to mind as "the solution to all problems" so agencies can act without a care in the world because the solution lies there, always postponed but definetely comming sooner than later!
