Was just thinking about you earlier today, Mark. It's funny what subconscious connections us viewers/fans build with people we've never met via this platform. I was wondering how things were working out and whether Neil had kinda taken you under his wing given the circumstances and - boom - here you both are. It's going to be a memorable Christmas this year for all of you. Best wishes.

Killing me on the Monster Joystick line, guys! Glad to see you in good spirits! I feel a little bad. I never got a like or heart from a producer, and it happened was when I was in not the best spirit, and then I took a YT break and came to see... that what happened... happened. So very happy to see you're continuing on and doing well. Nice to see Neil there too!

No word of a lie, I've been having this weird memory of a game that I couldn't remember for the life of me what it was, what it was called or even what platform it was on. I just remembered bits and pieces. It's been bugging me for about 2 months now. Not until now, and you mentioned different coloured keys in Castle Excellent that I finally remember what it was! Now I need to go find a way to play it. It was an amazing game! I think I must have played it on either the CollecoVision or the NES.

Following on from the fire safety question, I looked at getting a fire extinguisher for my workshop (corner of the garage). Check local rules as it looks like the cheap powder extinguishers are effective but NOT recommended in the UK. I'm still puzzling over which one to get but I'll probably end up with two, one CO2 and one foam...

6:50 - my choice would be a 1991 Amiga 2000 with ECS chipset and two floppy drives. Inside, I'd put a Motorola 68020 or 68040 accelerator, a hard disk controller, 4 MB of fast RAM (the accelerator would have space for more), an A-Max IV Macintosh emulator card (because of course I would, with floppy drives and a set of Mac II or Quadra 650 ROMs), a CD drive, a flicker fixer/scandoubler, an external genlock and, of course, a 1084S (the boxy one). Failing that, I'd grab a Commodore A1200 (not the Escom one) and enjoy SimCity 2000.
@MarkFixesStuff

An A1200 is a good choice I think.

About that "time travel and back of money"-question... I missed the most of "Golden Era" of rising PC-gaming... I was too young and things costed too much... I was able to see and play things like Wing Commander etc. at the time, but just absolutely no way to buy such a PC at that time. Also, I didn't have money for C64... So my path was Aquarius, Oric Atmos (yes, truly!), Speccy, Atari ST and PC. On computer side... I caught up about the time of Quake 2 and Unreal (thereabouts), which was fantastic. But the time before that, with much money... That would be great to experience (for the first time) ;D P.S. And ALL THE BEST FOR YOU, MARK!!!!

Hi Mark, it may actually be good practice to remove *ALL* charging plugs overnight - as well as television, computers/consoles and music systems. A fridge freezer may be all that's necessary to have plugged in all the time. As well as this, whenever I go away (usually overnight at the least) I'll remove the batteries from all the smoke alarms, place them beside the alarms, and leave them by the front door (just incase that really annoying "beep" from a low battery every 30 seconds upsets my neighbours - and as a security precaution). It might also be a good idea to keep anything which may overheat away from carpets, curtains and other textiles. I'm guessing you won't mind reading this, as of course I'm sure you could've done with this at the time, but I think one or two fire extinguishers (the handheld ones) should be kept to hand near anything that could catch ablaze. The condition of all electrical installations in your house would be good to keep on top of - I know this may be the case for some people, but there are many out there, who don't handle plugs and plug sockets very sympathetically. If you're testing/charging anything in the house, doing so at the highest point upstairs may also minimize damage in the future. The machines themselves that you receive might benefit from being PAT tested as a further precaution. There was something I nearly forgot to ask...have you been able to save things such as family albums (in whatever form they take), as well as sensitive documents/sentimental items etc, *BEFORE* everything may just get thrown out?? Preferably, it should be left to all of you and your family to categorically throw away what you unanimously decide to get rid of - no one else.

@@richardblack5710 It's an 8296 SK model, a later and somewhat harder to find PET model. And, yes, very sexy. The PET lineup was discontinued in '82, later resumed in '84. And in between there was the CBM- II line, the B (for Business) series of which was aesthetically quite similar, which is confusing.
