You are right but now as God promised that he will give kingship to each generation of Noah's sons. So now it is Jepth's generation or Gog Magog generation who are settled in West, USA and Australia will rule the world till the end of Time. Their movies, their educational and banking systems will be dominated. Typical Muslims and Arabs have ruled their time long ago

I can understand where some of the criticisms are coming from. I noticed a handful of historical inaccuracies, like how it shows Muslims expelling Christians when they didn't, how it focused so much on Muslim fundamentalists when they in fact had very little power in Muslim societies of the 11th century (their role in the original book was fairly insignificant), how Ibn Sina's breakthrough discovery of the way contagion spreads during a plague was credited to fictional Rob Cole instead of Ibn Sina himself, or how he committed suicide when he didn't. However, historical inaccuracies like these exist in most historical movies in general. And the portrayal of Islam/Muslims/Iranians in this German movie is at least far better than almost every Hollywood movie out there, with very few exceptions like 13th Warrior, Kingdom of Heaven, or Prince of Persia. And it's one of the very few Western movies actually showcasing the Islamic Golden Age's scientific culture. It has plenty of flaws and historical inaccuracies, but it's a good start towards a more balanced portrayal of Islam and Muslims in Western movies. It could have been better if they stuck more closely to the book (where it doesn't exaggerate the role of Muslim fundamentalists), but still, it's a good start. And I really enjoyed the movie.

And they are showing muslims as bad people like they kill christians etc and 2nf muslims never kowtow in front of anyone accept Allah (God) during praying. 3rd while prayer half people were facing towards makkah and half were toward other side. And 4th thing muslims never leave the orphans behind specially girls. It was Islam who gave rights not to bury baby girls alive 5th thing islam also tell to spread knowledge and learn as much as u can they know nothing about islam. +Abe Amen... Abe, are you Muslim? If you are, I want you to know, I love true Muslims.. I'm a Mormon. My Great Great Grandfather was there at the restoration, and the beginning of it. He spent months crossing the prairies to get to a valley, with a great salt lake, and a desert for a home. One tree was growing in that valley. To the south was a fresh water lake and a river connecting them.. they called the Jordan river. Today that valley is lush with trees.. and life. My people were killed, beaten, tared and feathered, and driven from their homes for years, good Christians, because we flourished. Mormons are Christians as well. Muslims are being persecuted for how they live by, as we call them, radicals. You will flourish again, once the radicals are dealt with. Many Americans know the difference between radicals and Muslim... We want nothing more than to see all people able to worship as they choose in peace... There will always be the people of Satan though... and that's what we're really battling. I hope you don't mind my words.

A lot of inaccuracies, but that happens with every film in a historical setting. This is similar to "Braveheart" in that respect, where real people are used but a broad stroke is used rather than a fine detail brush. The goal of the film is to entertain, not to be a documentary, and most westerners won't take it as fact. The English protagonist exists obviously to act as an empathy window for western audiences who have a real problem putting themselves in the shoes of other cultures, filmakers know that even a great film will not make money without that. Western audiences in general know very little about how the Muslim world helped to kickstart the European renaissance, and need to be coddled a bit into finding this out. In the end if it gets us westerners curious about the origins of medicine and learning the truth while inspired, it will serve cultural relations better than a listing of facts. Watch this movie while contemplating the difference between "truth" and "fact", and if the film inspires you, open a history book and learn about the rich cultural exchanges of the past. You might be surprised by how often they were less violent than they are today. ...Wow you read all that? Respect friend.

Some movies are "Teaching-Films", and The Physician is a really good example of this. It is entertaining, exciting, well written, and beautifully directed. The locations and the sets are amazing, and they play role in the film just like a character, without being self-conscious of it. And most important, I was drawn into the story, in the main characters goals, his challenges, and his discoveries. I went on his journey with him. And after the movie was over, I knew a lot more about the world than I knew before. And I learned everything without even realizing it. I recommend watching The Physician, both as a "Teaching-Film" as well as a beautiful piece of great Entertainment.

This is NOT a teaching film as it isnt historically accurate at all. It only exists for entertainment and disrespects ibn sinas life work.

Basically you Godless Atheists when see that the marvellous created by a believers and shows strength of God and faith, you can't tolerate anymore. Either you try to justify that as Atheist Godless Achievement, or you defame the personality. About Inb Sina you tried both. Tried to prove him as a Godless Atheist, failed, tried to defame him saying he learned it from his student who you don't know even.

READ this all those 39 or more of you who have liked that comment okay lets take this logically i found out after visiting many website its been misattributed to him its actually by Al-Maʿarri (an anti religion , writer and poet) The world holds two classes of men; intelligent men without religion, and religious men without intelligence. - Al-Maʿarri A Short History of Freethought Ancient and Modern (1906) by John Mackinnon Robertson, Vol. I, Ch. VIII: Freethought under Islam, p. 269 This form of the statement has been most commonly misattributed - to Avicenna, in A Rationalist Encyclopaedia: A Book of Reference on Religion, Philosophy, Ethics, and Science (1950) by Joseph McCabe, p. 43, and later to Averroes (another muslim thinker like Ibn Sina), in The Atheist World‎ (1991) by Madalyn Murray O'Hair, p. 46 The inhabitants of the earth are of two sorts: Those with brains, but no religion, And those with religion, but no brains.- Al-Maʿarri As quoted in The Crusades Through Arab Eyes (1984) by Amin Maalouf, p. 37 it makes sense Ibn Sina says this too : Prayer is that which enables the soul to realize its divinity. Through prayer human beings worship absolute truth, and seek an eternal reward. Prayer is the foundation-stone of religion; and religion is the means by which the soul is purified of all that pollutes it. Prayer is the worship of the first cause of all things, the supreme ruler of all the world, the source of all strength. Prayer is the adoration of the one whose being is necessary. and this: God, the supreme being, is neither circumscribed by space, nor touched by time; he cannot be found in a particular direction, and his essence cannot change. The secret conversation is thus entirely spiritual; it is a direct encounter between God and the soul, abstracted from all material constraints. and more stuff but if would make this comment too long. wow!! this just shows me how easily history can be manipulated . Its a known fact Ibn Sina was extremely religious person Use your intellect to understand something when you hear about it-the intellect that examines, that is, and not just the intellect that repeats what it hears, for surely there are many who repeat the knowledge that they hear, and there are few who examine it.

Why do so-called Christians conveniently forget the teachings of Jesus when they converse about different factions of religion? One prevalent example is the judgemental criticism,venom, hatred, & prejudices that spew forth when talking to or about another and their beliefs. The point is that he was Persian but Turkey was part of his identity as he learnt a lot there. Your at the end of the day lets not forget that it's not about where he was from but the fact that he brought so much knowledge and how elevated his state of mind was

Man, the film makers truly butchered the history! First of all whoever is saying that Ibn Sino was a persian is lame wrong. If you live in the UK and you are indian, that does not make you British, you are indian. I am giving this as an example. It was common to travel to Turan (Uzbekistan) and Iran for exchange of ideas and trade. Ibn Sino traveled a lot to different countries, but he was from Uzbekistan and Turkish origin. 1. Ibn Sino was from Bukhara, Uzbekistan. He was from Turkish origin. 2. It was not Saljuki's who were a threat to Iran, It was G'aznaviy's! Under Mahmud G'aznaviy who eventually takes over Iran and Persia. Mahmud G'aznaviy was also from Bukhara. 3. Ibn Sino never stayed long in Isfahan, It was in Hamadon where he stayed longer when he was traveling through Persia, but lived most of his life in Bukhara, Samarkand, Kharezm. 4. Yes, there was a man called Masihiy who was a learner like Ibn Sino, but he was not from England, he was from Gurjustan, Georgian area. Masihiy means Christian, but he was a muslim. 5. It was Ibn Sino that opened corpses to learn the anatomy of people, not some lame british made up guy. He got into trouble for that from Samarkhand ruler when he was caught and was ordered to take 80 lashes publicly. That happened in Uzbekistan. 6. Ibn Sino worked together with Beruni and other guys who were all active scholars of Khawerazm Academy of Mam'un in Uzbekistan, not in Persia. Modern Uzbekistan at that time was called Mowaraunnahr or Greater Khorosan (part of it). The movie was made beautiful, but wrong wrong history.
@DoonM
@DoonM 10 лет назад
There are a lot of statements that you wrote which aren't true at all. I can correct you in every point you wrote but I'll begin by correcting the most important; what ethnicity he was. He was pure Persian. Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kirgizistan, Afghanistan etc. were all part of Iran at that time and was populated by ethnic Persians before the mongols invaded Persia. At the time Abu Ali Sina people living in that area were still pure Persians. You can wish he was something else but wherever you read you have proof that he was Persian. Many have tried to steal the achievements of Persians and to steal and destroy Persian history but reality and true facts about Persia will always win in the end, like it did now. End of story.
@alimir84
@alimir84 10 лет назад
correct me. Ibn Sino was born in Uzbekistan and was a member of Ma'mun Academy of Khwarezm which is also in Uzbekistan. Abu Ali Ibn Sino is one of the scientists like Al-Khorazmi, Al Beruni, Farobi and others. They wrote all their books in Arabic.
@DoonM
@DoonM 10 лет назад
Man, you clearly don't know Iranian history well. It's all right I'm going to explain for you. Almost every country which in its name ends with -stan was part of former Persia. As I said, current Uzbekistan was part of Persia. The current name of Kharazm is Khorasan which is in modern Iran. Both Abu Ali Sina and Kharazmi were ethnic Persians. In fact, 70 % of all "Islamic" scientists were Persian. The reason why they wrote in arabic was because the arabs had made the Persian language forbidden for ca 200 years Iran. If the Persian scientists didn't write in arabic they would never had published their work it they could get killed by the arabs. I hope you learnt some more today.
@alimir84
@alimir84 10 лет назад
I understand that you are persian and you are proud of it. But claiming other countries' and nationalities' glory is actually downgrading. You said that you would correct me, but did not provide anything. It is your right to be proud of anything. But claiming that Persia consisted of Central Asia. That's absurd. Actually Central Asians controlled most of the Persia. Let's remember - Mahmud Gaznaviy (from Bukhara) took over Most of Persia, Temurids controlled most of Persia, Husayn Boyqaro controlled most of Persia. The only time that Uzbekistan was under Persia was at the time of Doro 1 and Kir 2 which were a great emperiors from 3 thousands years ago. But after that, Persia has never been great. There are two geographical regions - Iran and Turan. You already know what is Iran, but Turan, you probably don't know. Turan is all the stans including Afghanistan. You said Kharezm was in Modern Iran. It looks like I need to teach you geography as well. Kharezm is in Uzbekistan. It was common at the time of Ibn Sino to travel other countries and learn and teach others. That;s what Ibn Sino did in Iran. He was from Uzbekistan and the people who lived in Uzbekistan and He is not Persian. He was from Turkic origin. His father left Bukhara when there was a threat from Mongols and he moved his family to Balkh (afghanistan) and then moved back to Bukhara again and thats where Ibn Sino was born and lived most of his life. Because he was sick in Hamadan, he died there and was buried. That's why people like you who do not know the history think that he was persian. Hope you learned something today!
@DoonM
@DoonM 10 лет назад
I provided historical accuracy and all you need to know. Then if you don't accept it is your own problem. It has nothing to do with if I'm Iranian or not. And I'm not claiming other's history like you are trying to do. We are talking about Iran and no other country. We can argue forever but you will still be kept in your misleading information. Let's make it simple, here are facts for my statements: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Iran And in another text it says "The people of the Khwarezm were from a branch of the Persian tree." Source: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khwarezm I see that you're trying to mislead the conversation. I was talking about the people in the area not the rulers. The people were of Persian origin at that time. Rulers may have been of Turkic origin for some periods but anyway all of them were Persianized. I hope you've become wiser and accepted Iranian history for what it is. There are plenty of people like you trying to deny the glory of Persia, you're not the only one, but fact will always speak my friend.
