Cool video! I have a question though: wouldn‘t Newton‘s 3rd law still apply in this situation, so that the screwdriver is pushed in the opposite direction with the same force? If so, the doctor would need to push the device up with the same force, so it wouldn‘t be easier than opening the door with his hands. That‘s no to say that doctor who needs to make perfect sense of course…

Yeah, that's a good point. If the Doctor uses the screwdriver to push the molecules of the door to open it, yes. If he uses it to activate some mechanism inside, that opens the door, then no.
