Yeah, i build a base with several floors but noticed that no pal would go up to do their tasks. At first i thought it was a size problem, maybe the alphas or the ones like Jormuntide or Mammorest didn´t fit but not even Cattivas managed to go up the stairs. Even after i raized the ceiling making a two wall high floor.
@@teamofone1219 strg backspace deleted my whole comment. who tf added this to windows. anyways...it is not that time consuming or error causing to just flip that corner piece. Its like giving us a bench but we cant sit on it, not interactable. but we have a bed we can sleep in. so there is coding for you interacting with a building piece to get your character to lay down animation. an early access solution or alpha dev behaviour would be to just copy paste that coding for the bed and put it on the bench so we can sit on it. no! first we need a whole new Island new Pals, Arena mode, new buildings new tech new this and that. but they cant flip that corner piece? they cant just copy paste sitting on a bench. where is my minimap. why can i only see my marker when im like 200 meter away. its just like they copy pasted ark survival evolved and now they are out of ideas. or they didnt even play their own game for more than 15 minutes, otherwise they would know that you cant close your god damn staircase with a triangle piece before even reaching lvl 10 in the game thats frustrating.
@@EkkoMr It’s a small team they only have like 55 employees working on the game. They probably also have other projects they are also working on to in between.
@@teamofone1219so? Adding an entire new island and all sorts of other unpolished junk was more important than fixing up and FINISHING the key systems of the game? I'll admit that it's not as bad as some games but the building in palworld is still pretty bad and that's a huge part of the game. Dont even get me started about some of the other very important key features that are still terribly implemented... *cough, cough* climbing... like, oh great they (sort of) fixed the grapple, BUT I STILL CANT CLIMB WORTH S*%&! Like there are plenty of references on how to do a climbing system like this well from games like breath of the wild or genshin but they literally just copy-pasted the completely non-functional climbing system from craftopia and said "yeah, this is fine." 😑 but no let's just completely ignore ALL of that and more and instead push out more janky unpolished "content" because our concurrent players fell off. Its literally a scraped together proof of concept so they can make a bit of money and move on in another year or two like they did with craftopia. 50 people is plenty considering there are games (albeit smaller) that have 1 to 5 people working on it and they're way more polished with half the development time. Don't give them a pass because they have a "small" team. It has nothing to do with the quantity, it's the quality that's the issue. The only excuse is that they lack the experience, not the manpower. They game still has incredible potential if they shift perspective and make a masterpiece of the scrap they have, instead of adding more junk to the pile.
Pillars are one of my favorite things about the update! I've added stone pillars all through all the walls of my bases & now my buildings not only look tougher now, they don't have the awkward gap you can see when looking closely at connected walls. & thanks to this video, I now have a deeper understanding of how they work & I like them even more now!
Building in this game is still pretty scuffed. I know it's not the main point of the game, but it's still a pretty important part of it. Hope they can continue to improve it. There are like 50 other survival games for them to take inspiration from when it comes to better building.
Pillars are amazing; all of the benefits of a foundation with none of the drawbacks with what I'd like to call "backwards compatible snapping". Being able to snap pillars to existing roof tiles makes building on slopes so much easier. It let be build something akin to a land based oil rig on Mount Obsidian to keep the oil pumps out of site (since they don't need to be maned) with a perfectly flat factory floor well above it. And then when I realized that I could really use a pathway down to the oil extractors so I could have a transport pal collect it instead of myself, it was super easy to make a new set of pathways down there going from pillar to pillar with roof tiles and stairs. If you're building on essentially a flat pad (the game includes a number of such areas that encourage such base building) then foundation pieces do well enough, but anywhere else and pillars beat foundations in every way.
Man i spent so much time trying to make a flat surface there... because placing your palbox on a foundation and accidently deleting said foundation is too tedious to ever try that again.
@@Quintessence4444 I tried making my first major factory (on my second playthrough) in a dessert island coal area that was nothing but slope because I thought it'd be a really cool looking multi-tier base. I gave up after several hours of failing to get higher elevation foundations to line up because foundations don't snap to roof pieces (as far as I'm aware) leading to a base that looked completely jank that I couldn't make multiple stories for lack of support in the right places. If pillars were a thing back then, that base would have been a breeze to build and I'm sure would have looked amazing (barring the fact that there'd be gaps where the walls can't go into ground I'd need to plug in some way).
Also if you build a 2nd floor covering the entire zone you can delete everything supporting it except for a single pillar and it'll support everything somehow. Idk how that works but it did when i was destroying my bases to relocate for oil.
I've not really messed with the new stuff yet, I started over on a public server. But, I did notice that my base by Penking is no longer immune from raids.
I dont have any problems building stairs, if you use the change building mode key it ONLY builds them going DOWN. I want to be able to build them going UP! 🥲
In the latest update they said they have improved the use of pillars in water. There's a nice pond/waterfall at 303,-33 (close to the lava flow where people farm Minimogs) that I just cant build pillars to the floor of the pond. Is there a depth limit?
Square base zone would be amazing. Also vertical sight lines or some other way to see where your base's edge will be at to figure out where to place it down.
With that tower boss outfit I'm guessing you have to defeat the hard version of the tower boss twice to get the full outfit? Cause I only got their hairs unless there is a shop where they let you buy their outfits I don't know about. Good vid though.
this video is super high quality and relaxing, i think you could gain a substantial following if you keep to what you're doing regarding palworld, thanks for the video and good luck man! :)
U know what. I had to rebuild my town base since pillar is out.... And now im just thinking. Should i just left this game for a year for it to release all the necessary update to building and functionality?
maby this is stupid question, but, if you build a fundation thats conected to yours base but this certian fundation is oudside the ,,base area" will be destroid after some times? or only building and chests etc will be destroid? soryy my eng is bad
Love the pillars, it helps my base have a more open space rather than all the walls I had to use for support. I don't know how to flip the triangle walls to be upside down on console and I have spaces everywhere that really bug me! xD. They really need to make building less restrictive as it seems to hamper my build projects I need for my sanity rather than spend hours trying to fix one thing that could easily be remedied.
You actually can't flip triangular walls upside down. This has bothered me so much since the first time I played the game. It's the no. 1 feature I'm waiting for every update. Edit: you can't on console, pc or any platform AFAIK.
Interesting addition to building. Artful base design is the one area of the game really lacking imo, but it's not so noticeable since there's so much else to focus on with a base.
I agree actually, bases typically have to be super space efficient and functional. But I think with them raising base limit up to 10 you can utilize some of those extra bases for just fun design! 🙌
I rly hope ur vid becomes 1 of 5 top search results when others r looking for Palworld building tips. Super concise, laid back, informative, just the right pinch-ful of humor; heck, go give urself a treat for the amount of time u put into this! The research quantity and quality is above expectations! I hope this is read as genuinely thankful, until now i did not fully understand Palworld Piller Power! Ty and be blessed brother❤
Cool thanks,I had no idea there were pillars and you could do that, just updated it the other day and still finding out new things,so this definitely helps,thanks.....btw I think they should let us increase the size of the circle of our bases to either make a massive base or a smaller one, that would be dope asf imo
@@priqe for real,I feel like I could create so much more cool looking buildings and since you told us about these pillars it's gonna make building stuff so much more satisfying, but an increasing or decreassing of the bases circle would be fantastic
Did everyone build in this exact space? I screwed up and put my storage towards the cliff at the end of the waterfall, so the large cliff behind doesn’t fall within the outline of my base. Things I wish I knew.
Thanks this made me want to come back to palworld. Now they should just add cliff- side support and we can basicly build anything up in the mountains for really cool hideouts =)) Add artillery base cannons that can aim in any angle place cannons outside the base or through windows. and we got cliff base warfare XD. Fun pvp skirmishes to take down others cliff war bases :P.
seeing a pillar in this game makes me moist ngl I played on launch and the building was aids If they fix pal pathing and hitboxes too then Ill explode.
I have a building on the side of a cliff, it was hell to make and now we have pillars! It's been so long since I played this game, so much changed. And I can't stack 2 of the same pendant anymore :(
The pillar is a nice object, but the building feature is still not even on par with Fallout 4. -the collision of most objects is BS (can't build chests and wardrobes under a roof) -most objects shouldn't align to the slope -you can build totally unrealistic structures but not the realistic ones like roofs on pillars -there are still a lot of bugs and senseless restrictions
You motherfuckers, I spent the best part of 2 or 3 hours trying to build a bridge over the shrine area and it just wouldn't work no matter what I tried 😒 thank you 😊
Thats pretty cool now i just need them to add about 3x the content thats currently available in the so i can come back and actually play without clearing everything in one night
