Roger Robinson is a Tony Award winning, classically trained stage actor, and I love the way he chews the scenery in this scene. The way he says, "I respect your ambition, Willie, but you got to have VISION," is just priceless.

Yep Roscoe Orman! I got into an argument with 3 co-workers about this 10 yrs ago. They didn't believe me when I told them that. Clowned me and everything, until that Receptionist did a Google search and f'ked everybody head up lol.

I miss that era of real acting...💯. Willie Dynamite played by Roscoe Orman was a versatile actor to go on to play the famous Gordon Robinson on Sesame Street...
One of Diana Sands last movies before dying of cancer. When she wasn’t strong enough to do “Claudine” she suggested her friend Diahann Carroll as her replacement. She died soon after at age 39.
@@jaystew730 Yes That's A Classic One There!!I Even Liked Him In A Compromised Position,When Willie D,Had The Gun Pointed At Him!Willie,Willie,Willie,Pleading For His Life!!!!🤣🤣
Willie Dynamite was hard headed and ended up jammed just like the man said he would. Working alone or depending on your efforts alone to make it in this world isn't the way to get ahead or even make it through the tough times. You have to collectavize and make joint efforts and let your money work for you even when you're not working, and you have to rely on the efforts of others!
This was one of the greatest scenes of all the Blaxploitation movies. I saw this movie as part of a double-feature back when I was 8. Yes...8! You didn't need parental consent back then. They would let the older kids in the neighborhood in, and the older kids would purchase tickets for us younger kids. I spent the next couple of weeks emulating that whole "vision" hand thing. A year after this movie, Willie Dynamite suddenly appeared as Gordon on Sesame Street. It blew my mind because I kept thinking in the middle of some of his Sesame Street skits that he would suddenly transform into Willie Dynamite.
Thanks for your life! Thanks for sharing your experience..Sesame Street tho? Wow. Willie had the the gold glasses, right? Never seen this movie before. Today is my 1st time ever seeing this clip..muchos gracías tambíen (again in my mind). shalom
Willie had a point but he didn’t understand how politricks work. Either get down or lay down. Doesn’t matter how big ur stable is if the entire world is on your back
@@mo33chief3 They dont encourage freelancing. As a pimp you want every dollar and every opportunity to it. And if you cant control it, usually you dont want it around you or and especially you dont want it around your hoes.
Naw, it's independent vs syndication. They're all still capitalists, just in a united formation, just like the NFL. Each pimp is a team owner, the hoes are the players and the overall syndicate is the league itself. No governmental agency has any control whatsoever. It's definitely not communism.
There's a level of really fine acting to this scene that probably goes unnoticed because of the flashy pimp atmosphere. The way these men deliver lines and sell the exchange is something to be appreciated for sure. Black excellence.
This is one of the rare blaxploitation films that didn't come across as a complete cornball train wreck. IMO, Willie Dynamite is actually a solid movie.
@@yasielpuig9991And that ladies and gentlemen, is why the American Mafia enjoyed a decades long reign of rule as opposed to a coalition of Black pimps(one white notwithstanding) who objectively voted against free enterprise
It's the opposite. He was trying to scale.Think of an IPO.Valuation increase by crazy multiples, instant liquidity, revenue by crazy multiples. If you add Mergers & Acquisitions program this is crazy acceleration that everyone benefits from.It sounds good in theory not to join but it's financially irresponsible not to join
Some of us have big stables. And I'm in control of some mean tuff looking animals and U tellin me that their only allowed to run in one part of the jungle... I got to split
The screenplay is earth shattering, I can't tell if this I a real gathering or a scene. You can just feel the energy and life force of these pimps acting as actors playing pimps. 😢
No records are kept during a pimp conference. These meetings are rated top secret in nature. The camera man did a great job blurring the faces...oops. Blurring the loud obnoxious outfits...oops #2. 😎 I'm out.
You gotta give props to Jamaica because they were the first to have dance parties featuring monster bass speakers, turntable, mixer and someone rocking the mic. Kool Herc who was jamaican took the same familiar concept but instead of reggae and ska he played american records.
One of the MOST VITAL Scenes in this Film..Sampled from Many of the Hip Hop Legends of the Era..WU TANG,TRIBE CALLED QUEST,PLANET ASIA, KILLA SIN,and Mathematics!!! Too RAW!!!
