I'd imagine the method she's using for her growls is the "False Chord". A quick lesson on that, the "False Chords" are also known as the "Vestibular folds", which are not your primary "vocal chords" you use to speak and sing. It's possible she's using this technique over the "Vocal fry" so that she can keep up with her singing and not switch back and forth between fry screaming and false chords. Here's another indicator, at 7:02, when she switching between Falsetto and Screaming, the pace she's doing it at, and the fact that "some" of her voice can be heard in the scream, it sounds like a very breathy false chord, where it's not "completely" registering, she's using a lot of air pressure, but she's not constricting her false chords enough to get that more "deathcore" scream. This is intentional, meaning she's done this a LOT. Given that she so easily switching back to singing, that's fucking scary impressive, and the fact that this wasn't the last song on the setlist.

This performance, which was in the middle of her concert, seems to be the 7th out of 20 songs. Extreme vocal coaches say she has all the skills of professional metal singers. But she also has speed rap. To understand everything she can do, you need to listen to about 10-15 songs

@@user-ii1ke9ex4u Oh yeah, "Fleeting Lullaby" for example, hell even "Show" display her more faster paced vocals. I've listened to nearly her entire discography, honestly her capabilities aren't just extraordinary, it's batshit insane how rare someone like her is. She has a 4 octave 4 semitone range (or atleast so far) as researched by many on the internet, this is including the notes she's hit in live performances. I've been following her since before the One Piece FILM RED involvement, honestly watching her capabilities grow, and seeing all these new techniques has been an absolute roller coaster. I always can't wait to see what she'll bring next.

@@user-ii1ke9ex4u Oh, that's really cool! Hadn't heard about that. I think I may have seen a clip or two shared around a while ago. Honestly, there are so many reasons why I'm planning on learning Japanese, I would hope that at some point I'd be efficient enough to do some translation work, as there are only a few channels out there that do some of this, especially for the more rarer and exclusive stuff. I think in time as Ado gains a lot more exposure, we'll probably see a lot more subtitled stuff. I'd love to hear more of Ado's insights, she's incredibly entertaining. She recently did an interview on CrunchyRoll which had subtitles. Previously I've read translations in the comment sections of various clips, so it's nice to see.

You should check out her first song, Usseewa. It triggered a rather large controversy in Japan, conservatives even wanted to get it banned from the airwaves, because the lyrics harshly and sarcastically critcize the archaic rules of Japanese work culture. I hope she one day uploads a live performance of it, too. I've heard/seen three so far and one was crazier than the other and puts Unravel to shame when it comes to "ad-libbing", as you called it, and going totally off the rails. There's a sound only version of it from the Mars Tour on RU-vid, but it's pretty quiet and not official, so I don't really want to advertise it but it's absolute batshit and I really don't know how she's able to sing afterwards for the next two weeks.
