wing t is not a formation or a play it is a system and a philosophy! wing t concepts will fit any formations!

I'm a defensive cord. for little league. The offensive cord brought the wing t offence from down south. At 9 years old the line, backs and QB did a very good job of learning basic fundamental responsibilities. I was honestly amazed on how well they learned and executed. The last 2 years we have averaged 31 points a game and 32-0 over 3 years.

Great job coach. This "system" has 22 DVDs and 4 books and a 500-game HUDL account so it can be ran 2nd grade thru 12th grade.

Flexbone offense is based in option plays and wing T is based in missdirection plays. in flexbone line splits are wider and slotbacks are facing foward not inside

This isn't the true wing t. The wing backs should be 2 yards wide 1 yard deep shoulders square because they are still receivers. Cocking them inside limits you and just isn't very smart to say the least

B Ross I've never been a fan of having my WB's slanted in either With or without a TE I'm getting my guys to hustle to the point of attack

There are many ways to skin a cat. At the national wing t clinic, 800+ wing t coaches show up and one of the main debates (probably 50/50) is whether to tilt wings or have them square. Either way, works. I learned the offense from Randy Blankenship, who has won 400 games and 9 titles in CA, 6 of those at the highest level CA plays. He has his wings tilted so that they can go in orbit motion, angle blocks the End, and go out for a pass. I won 42 games at a school of 1800 playing D3 out of 12 divisions in CA with tilted wings. One of our wings ran for 1,000 yards and caught 1,000 yards in the same season. In 2015 we had WA and IL state champs, in 2016 we had WA and WI state champs, and in 2017 we had a NC champ at D4 and D3. So it works.

good job coach! As previous comments note, we did not have 22 players get out of bed to film after returning from a road trip the night before. So the two split end wide receivers are missing.

isn't this flexbone?
@coachredbone
@coachredbone 8 лет назад
The formation is flexbone but the difference is that you can use any formation and still keep your core plays intact. If Paul Johnson or Coach Ken at Navy wanted to add bucksweep they can do so. Keep in mind coach many formations, few plays.
@rickstewart5305
@rickstewart5305 6 лет назад
the Flexbone philosophy is to run triple option at two unblocked defenders. There are many formations that you can do that in. The Wing T philosophy is to have everyone down block and a puller kickout, with look-a-like backfield action. Backs fake instead of block. This philosophy can be ran out of many formations.

Sorry to say this, but "core" and "20" don't belong in the same Subject line.

QB needs to stop throwing behind his receivers.

Those are not my players. My school would not let me film my players and put them on RU-vid (this was in 2011) so I had to fly to Iowa and use college kids on a Sunday morning after they had just got back from a road trip the night before. I had about 5 minutes to teach them the play while the camera was off, then we filmed the play. If you buy the DVDs from me, you will see my players running the plays because I put my players on there after I left that school.

There a diffrence between the Flexbone and the Wing T?
@coachwest8683
@coachwest8683 7 лет назад
Matt Moseley yes there is a difference flexbone( flexible in bone )is a offense designed around option football principles veer midlife counter opion. wing-t is a offense designed around angles and misdirection and playaction

The only bad thing about the wing t in high level of play is more times then not all you have to do is key the guards and they will take you to the play
@BillMcGuyer
@BillMcGuyer 8 лет назад
+Kevin Riley You got that right. The school system my son plays for runs the wing t and schools have started keying on the pulling guards....backside blocking blitzing LB's is very difficult. Many tackles made in the backfield comes from backside LB's or DE's following the pull and beating the backside blocking.
@1B-ROSS
@1B-ROSS 7 лет назад
Actually that's not true because you can pull guards and influence the defense opposite of where you are running the ball. Not to mention you can pull anyone on the line and mess up the reads. You key the guards and their is a counter for that both run and pass. So that may be true sometimes but that's not how you stop it
@rickstewart5305
@rickstewart5305 6 лет назад
Univ of Delaware won 3 Div 1AA NCAA championships and U of North Dakota won their league running the Wing T. I am sure those college defensive coordinators knew how to read guards. There are answers to teams that are very good at keying the guards...false pulls, change formations (I will run 15+ formations in one game), freeze motions. Some coaches run the Wing T PLAYS....but don't have answers, therefore do not have a system.
@MrCTWIST

Kevin then the false pull on your jet series can be deadly as it takes the middle backers completely out of the picture. Definitely helped me when I combined it with rocket toss from under center.

This isn't a wing T, this is a double wing T.

How do you figure? I have spoken at the NATIONAL WING T clinic with the inventors of the Wing T in the audience and they all agree that this is Wing T. The Wing T is NOT a formation, it is a system of play calling using look-a-like backfield and look-a-like blocking to put defenses in conflict. It is a system...not a collection of plays or a formation.
@codislife3095
@codislife3095 5 лет назад
@@rickstewart5305 Rick Stewart There is a difference between the wing T formations and philosophy. They are both real things. This is a flexbone formation with wing T concepts. However, wing T is a formation, it the the T with a wing brought down. Hence the term wing T. They took the T and moved a back down to the wing. I also highly doubt you were with the inventors of the wing T unless you are pushing triple digits, it's been around awhile. Like a long while. You may have been at the national clinic, but you havent talked to people that are more than likely deceased. The wing T got its roots from the 1930s and is basically the T with a back moved to a wing, and the T has been around a LONG time. Like we are talking 1800's.
