The Pit Martial Arts: Hawaiian Kempo Self-Defense Class, April 18, 2016
In this video view legendary martial artist "Pit Master" John Hackleman, teaching his Hawaiian Kempo self-defense class at, The Pit Martial Arts & Fitness.
Hawaiian Kempo, is a martial art self-defense system created by 10th Degree KajuKenBo Black Belt John Hackleman, taught at The Pit Martial Arts.
Hawaiian Kempo classes are fun, and practical. The classes involve a lot of heavy bag work, pad work, stand up striking, boxing, karate, and grappling techniques. The classes are always finished off with heavy conditioning, making it a complete martial art.

Thank you.

Thank you Sensei John for sharing a great class of Hawaiian Kenpo combined with Martial Arts. My training days were back in 1974 with GM Bill Ryusaki. It's been a few decades since I trained but I share a little bit of what I remember on RU-vid. I bow to Sensei in Honor and Admiration.

Thank you for sharing great strategies on applying Martial Arts and Hawaiian Kempo specifically in the streets.

Sir, the way you conduct your classes is outstanding. I love your approach. My father trained in Kenpo many years ago under Tigi Mata'ale. You may know of him. I am an Army veteran who served over 27 years. Originally I am from Cali. Please tell me where you teach for I would love to visit your school when I visit my parents. Keep the videos coming. Your methodology is very sound, very simple and very direct. Shaka 🤙🏼

Thanks for the quick reply sir. I appreciate the invite. BTW, in Episode 1, my daughter and I were cracking up the way you were grooving to the song "More Bounce To The Ounce" by Zapp. You have those old school moves down lol. We also saw the video where you were making fun of the student who had that pony tail on top of his head. That was hilarious! The way you interact with your students is outstanding. What is most cool about you is that you don't allow the position of sensei to dictate who you are; you dictate the position. Again, keep the videos coming. Shaka

I recently started doing Kara-Ho Kempo after studying some Shotokan when I was younger. It has taken A LOT of work to unlearn "chambering". Lol

What is the difference between the Kenpo(Ed Parker) & Kempo?
@scarred10
@scarred10 3 года назад
None,they are synonymous ,kenpo just refers to its kung fu origin but there are lots of different branches and styles now,many completely unrelated to the parker system.

That’s exactly like my karate class, except for the realistic techniques, the BJJ, the intense conditioning and the requirement to be in class a minimum of three days a week, but besides all that it’s exactly the same. 🤥

I know what you mean. It's like my Kung Fu class. Except the Pit material works.
