@@ItzYinzburgh hey bro...love ur content. inlight of tunch retiring and being ill, can you do a highlight video of him? playing days plus some of his game commentary? Thanks for the excellent content bro
This just reminds me how big of a loss Yancey Thigpen was to Kordell... say what you want about his OCs during the down years when he struggled but man did he miss a great receiver like YT
Kordell had his good games like this one, but he had a habit of having poor first quarter performances. He admitted that he would get so jacked up to play that it took him a full quarter to settle down enough to think straight. Kordell had a strong arm, but he was painfully inaccurate. He would over and under throw his receivers and he also bounced balls off of the turf. When Heinz Field was finished being built, Mr. Dan Rooney said, “We like to think that this is the house that Kordell built.” 1997 was Kordell’s best season. He totaled 32 TD’s through the ground and air on his way to leading the Steelers to the AFC championship game. He earned his first and only pro bowl selection in 2021 and was named the AFC Player of the Year. In 2002, Kordell lost his starting position after an 0-2 start. The Steelers were playing the Browns and were down 13-6 in the fourth quarter and Cowher had enough of watching Stewart ineptitude. He benched Stewart and put Tommy Maddox in. Maddox lead them to an overtime victory. Kordell went on to play for a few more years with the Bears and the Ravens. The only time he saw the field with the Ravens was as a punter. I saw Tommy Maddox signing autographs during the 2002 training camp. When I got to where he was sitting I told him that I didn’t come for an autograph. I came to tell him that he will be starting by the end of the first quarter of the season. Tommy was expectedly diplomatic about his answer. That’s when I leaned toward him and said, “Mark my words. You WILL be the starting QB by the end of the first quarter.” I’ve often said that Kordell could have been a pro bowl wide receiver.
We had some great teams in the 90s and the way the game was played back then was so much better because there wasn't so many crybaby punks then and the refs just let them play most of the time and the Steelers D was very feared and if we had a great QB then we would have won a few SBs in the 90s and early 2000s.... GO STEELERS 🖤💛🏈
@@scottt3100 you are so lucky that you got to watch are 70s teams and see all of the Super Bowls and the way we was able to play back then because are defense just beat the crap out of every team we played... Take care my fellow Steelers Nation family because if you are from Western Pennsylvania everybody stuck together if you are a Steelers fan that's why I say my Steelers Nation family because Steelers fans around the world stick together like family and I don't have to say that because you know but take care in this crazy world
5:36, That devastating "HIT" by Norm "BIG HIT" Johnson...WOW!!! I thought the game, back then, was great, that made it amazing but, what would you expect from my AMAZING PITTSBURGH STEELERS? Awesomeness! thanx again Itz Yinzburgh...beautiful, Artistic Content. I can't even watch anyone else.
I remember watching this as a kid.. The only time my Dad would let me stay up late was to watch the Steelers games.. Kordell and Greg Lloyd were my Favorite players.
@@Mr.Kachoochoo Steelers had many great defensive players in the 90's. Not sure what you mean. Are you talking only lb's? I'd say Jason Gildon, Greg Lloyd, Levon Kirkland, Earl Holmes and Kevin Greene answers your question.
As a 80s baby I grew up as a Steelers fan in the 90s. I was six years old when I first started watching them in 93! I just wanted to say please don't stop uploading your content these bring back so many memories!!!........BTW Hines Ward 1a and Kordell Stewart 1b as my all time favorite Steelers. 😭😭👍👍👍👍👍
All types of videos coming! Generally, offseason will include plenty of throwbacks & the season will focus on the week’s games & past games as a part of the hype video! Thank you again!
I've been a Steelers fan since 1974 and have been watching them ever since then. The good thing about these videos is I get to remember guys that at my 56 years of age has somewhat forgotten and get to hear all those old guys names that I haven't seen in such a long while. Thanks for all the videos.
@@ItzYinzburgh I know a lot of Steelers fans a so when football season comes back if they're not already fans of your RU-vid page I'll guide them this way.
oh...i've been looking for video from Cordell "Slash" Stewart days where "Slash" from Guns n Roses played in our illustrious end zone, i believe it was against the Colts, late 90s, maybe, i think you'll enjoy. thanx.
the helmets, and the pads, clickin', and crashin', and the other team trying to gouge out your eyes at the bottom of the pile, is what fans don't realize is something, well, terrible. but i miss it everyday. thanx Itz Yinzburgh. ; )
Hey Yinzburgh, I know I’ve said it several times already so I hope you know I’m not trying to irritate you but man I CANNOT wait for this upcoming seasons hype video!!! It’s been over a year since the last one so I’m eager to see it ASAP! I watch it before ever game if I can, and I’m excited! Lets goooooo Pittsburgh and lets goooo Yinzburgh! Don’t let me down!
@@ItzYinzburgh I have and love the content! I have forwarded many of your vids to buddies and a few rivals! Wk, wk. Hope they've subscribed! Keep up the great work!

Joe Theisman...."I think his knee's are down before the ball comes out"..................................................ever wonder why Joe Theisman doesn't do NFL games on TV anymore????
As a Steelers fan, the '97 Ravens are especially gratifying to despise, with Eric Green and Bam Morris on the roster. Oh yeah, and that old logo that they stole from a fan.
Was 11-years-old and there that night. Was yelling horrible things at Bam Morris, related to his off-field issues. Not that he could hear me, but still not one of my proudest moments of fandom.
This was LITERALLY our SECOND YEAR in existence...congrats. Since the Ravens became in 1996, the Ravens and the Steelers have won the same amount of Super Bowls...2
For being a " defense minded HC " the one thing Tomlin never seems to put on the field like HC Cowher is the tenacious defense that swarms the ball.. Tomlin is overrated, he was given a SB winning team.. Pittsburgh should have had 3 more SB wins with the team he was given by coach Cowher.....
The beatdown a decade later is uploaded too 😉 One thing I did notice when editing the footage.. Ray Lewis was so damn good. Even during a game like this, he was unstoppable
