Love your content so thanks foremost. As a Browns fan they are a legitimately talented defense and a well coached defense. Their offense needed a new OC that gave them anything to believe in and instead grabbed Arthur Smith. I could see them do worse or just as well as this past season with a wildcard exit being their ceiling. That's considering their schedule and upgrade at QB.
The Steelers offense is not "going to be fine." They are not going to win nine or ten or eleven games. Their division is extremely tough, their schedule isn't just "hard," it's murderous, and they have a HUGE question at quarterback. This team has 7 and 10 written all over it, IMHO. Still, your take is not unjustified. If it's any consolation, EVERYONE in the comments has them doing better than I do!
@@Unknown17 Everyone is so worried about our division. I can’t even remember a time when we were ever below .500 in divisional games. The Ravens are basically in our pocket, Groper Cleveland ain’t gonna get it done, and our defense has been adjusting to Burrow. And out of the other 11 games, Dallas, KC, and Philly are the only serious contenders.
Because the Steelers couldn’t beat the patriots in the 2010s. 2017 & in 2018 was probably their best shot to win with TJ. a bunch of QBs are coming up and draft instead the Steelers decided to stay with Big Ben and not get a replacement matter fact they sent a first round pick for safety.
I honestly think the Steelers are being slept on. The pass rush and running game is going to keep them in games and I trust in the development of the younger guys to step in and do their part. The Steelers are going to play some solid football. As for the QB situation, I'm among those that thinks Russ is washed, but can still be serviceable with the right support. I actually at first liked his signing as I liked the Steelers situation for that. Then the Steelers got Justin Fields and flipped the entire script on the situation. Not only do I think Fields will take over the starting job at some point (or win it outright in camp for that matter), but I actually think he will, in his own way, excel once he does. I'm not blind to Field's limitations as a passer, but I do feel he can improve and be good enough in the right situation and again I love the situation for him with the Steelers. Add in his threat as a runner and that for me is what will spark the Steelers offense into being good enough to not be a liability. A three headed ground attack of Fields, Harris, and Warren has me expecting the Steelers to at least be a top 3 rushing team, if not lead the league in rushing outright. Exploiting that and personal improvement from Fields I think should be enough for the Steelers to have a respectable passing game I see a 10-11 win season with a Wild Card berth and dark horse Super Bowl run potential, although a Wild Card round loss is the most likely outcome. The real win however is Fields proving he can be the guy in Pittsburgh
This team just went 10-7 with no qb, no oc, and no mlb. A Super Bowl winning coach and a qb that is miles better than last season. It’s worth at least two more wins.
It depends how strong the rest of the division is. If Cinci, Baltimore and Cleveland are all strong, it's tough to say we will just win 4 out of 6 or something.
If either Russ or Fields are actually good, he might get it. The team isn't stacked this year, but the defense is great and we only need mediocre QB play to make us a very competitive team.
@@James-tp4nc the team that trades for him would have to give up a ton of players and draft capital to get him plus who says the Steelers would trade him
wrong. Maybe with his pee wee offense playbook but he was fired after the 2nd browns game. Also Picket was trash. Always ran into a sack like vs Myles first play of the browns game almost a safety
@@yogib37 november 21th is quite deep in the season. Couldn't care less about what you have to say whent they were 10 games in wich is more than half. They were 6-4 when he got fired. Week 11. And here you are saying "wrong" when they went 4-3 after he left.
@@cooper23231 I'm a Steelers fan Mike Tomlin took that team with probably the worse offensive coordinator in Steelers history to the playoffs Arthur Smith is an upgrade
In his rookie year, the Steelers should’ve won that Pats game but the NFL screwed us over with that potential Jesse James game winning TD catch. We could’ve had the #1 seed that season. In 2018, Bell held out and AB turned into the man he is today. 2019 Ben was out for the entire year. 2020 was the year he should’ve won his first ever playoff game but we decided to start 11-0 and finish the season loosing to the Browns. 2021 was Ben’s last season. 2022 was a retooling year for us. Then last season was a huge letdown all things considered.
15:22 I usually love your content man but this is a miss. Troy is absolutely not going to be our starting LT and respectfully I’m not sure where you got that from. At best he’s our third option behind Broderick and Dan Moore and Khan has said multiple times that we drafted Broderick to be on the left so there’s a better chance that Fautanu moves to RT when he’s ready to start. Which also makes sense because he played with Pennix who was a left handed QB. There may be a chance for Frazier but he hasn’t locked up the starting position either. The starting line looks like it’ll be much of the same from the end of last season with Dan Moore at LT, Seumalo at LG, James Daniels at RG, and Broderick at RT.
As a Steelers fan I’m excited to compete … our D is still top 5 in the league TJ earned DPOTY last year imo… if our offence pounds the run and can find a solid play action offence we can have an 11 win season and compete
Patrick Queen’s contract is a steal… $13mil per year is great compared to Tremaine Edmunds’ $18mil. He’s only 24, an all pro, and anyone claiming he needs Roquan is just a coping Ravens fan 😂 Queen is the real deal and exactly what the team needed. And i agree about Deshon Elliot, he is extremely underrated and a major upgrade from what we’ve had over the last several years. Also, Highsmith and Donte Jackson are very underrated so far
There have been ravens fans saying Queen is only good because of Roquan since he was brought in, so for a year and a half. I’m not one of them. Queen is good but Roquan is way better.
Wilson is going to be the starting QB but I would not mind seeing Fields in some kind of offense schemes and get about 10 to 15 plays a game. He could be a weapon.
As an Eagles fan the Steelers have tomlin which will get them atleast 9 wins. Say what you want about their talent but tomlin will get the most out of them. As a Birds fan, I really wish we had tomlin imagine him with this roster 🦅🦅🦅
@@BiggusJakeuscan’t wait for you fools to finally fire him so you can see how good of a coach he actually was when the next guy comes in and can’t do nothing with that roster lmao
A lot of changes have come since you did this video. You should be singing a different tune if you've caught up to current events. This video is far behind the times. Justin Fields was acquired and will play. Calvin Austin 111 is doing amazing in camp with and without pads. Pat F is getting a lot more looks with new routes. Van Jefferson is doing very good. Big six foot eight inch Washington is being used more and doing good. The OC coach has the team fired up and they are buying into his system and it is working fine. Our D Line is powerful from end to end, our outside linebackers are top in the league with four very talented players. Our inside linebackers include Elandon Roberts and Patrick Queen along with Payton Wilson, and that should scare any team when combined with the rest of the line including Cam and Keneau Benton. Our defense will be living in the backfield of the teams they play. We have Beanie Bishop who is doing amazing in camp, Joey Porter Jr., Minkah and more to hold down the play at CB and we have the rookies who are already acclimating well to NFL speed on the O line. The arrow is pointing way up for this team. Get updated friend.
So, Josiah Scott has been released. Atm Donte is our second outside corner and the slot is looking good with Beanie Bishop atm. Corey Trice is getting more reps, so we'll have to see about him. Our biggest off-season pick up would have to be Arthur Smith. Looking at the Atlanta film, Smith's schemes were legit and his Achilles heel was how he made his QB room. Him paired with Justin Fields is looking 🔥. Russ might lose his job, if he stays injured.
The losses to Arizona, NE, and Indi last year were embarrassing. That whole situation pretty much encapsulates my issues with Tomlin. Playing Trubisky once is understandable, playing him twice is questionable, but playing Trubisky for a third week in a row after losing to two, two win teams is an absolute failure of coaching. Imagine if they put Rudolph in the Arizona game after Pickett got hurt, we’d of finished the season 13-4 which would’ve won the division AND the AFC since we had tie breaker over the Ravens. Make no mistake, that game in Buffalo was closer than the score would make it seem. That team really could’ve done something last year if Tomlin made better decisions as a head coach.
@@Reese_Annaratone What that I said was incorrect? Mason Rudolph stepped in and beat 3 solid teams, why would he not be able to take a few bummy loser teams?
@@wickedsickfunkyfreshroller2037the Steelers got blown out by both Indianapolis and Arizona so odds are they lose both of those games and go 11-6 Steelers still have the 7 seed as they lose the tie breaker to Miami and lose to Buffalo in the wildcard. The Steelers over performed last year and in the division they are in with the afc just getting better I don’t see them making it back to the playoffs
@@Reese_Annaratone I simply disagree. I think we win both those games with Rudolph at QB, maybe Indi makes it close, m a y b e. You’d be amazed how much complimentary football can flip a game. The Steelers had a very good roster last year, I’d actually say they underperformed, and most of their issues stem from coaching decisions. 1. Matt Canada should’ve been gone before the season started, that’s on Tomlin. 2. Rudolph should’ve been the starter from week one, we didn’t need Trubisky or Pickett. That’s on Tomlin and Colbert. 3. Constantly using Zone coverage when you should be playing man with a 4 man pass rush. That’s on Tomlin and Austin, our DC. Frankly, you fix those issues and you have a contender. They’re just wasting talent at this point.
Theyre going to be a top rushing team like they were at the end of last season, and theyll have a top 5-10 defense. Thats good enough for 9-10 wins. It built to win this division specifically. If Russ gives us good play that could be 11-12 wins with a possible division title but if bad then 8-9 floor. Either way this is one of the beest consrtucted rosters in football and they will show everyone this season.
And even Russell Wilson to throw a sexy deep ball. Why not? When we were a serious SB threat it was always because of strong D, running the ball and a QB who could improvise.
@@lostalone9320 It's amazing that the Steelers have ran the same 3-4 defense since the 1980s and have had some legendary defenses throughout As a Steelers fan since 1992 it's been fun 32 years
The Pittsburgh Steelers are HOPING that either Russell Wilson or Justin Fields goes off for them temporarily, this team isn't competing for anything, it is a desperation move. Who are the Pittsburgh Steelers? Where are they going with Russell WIlson & Justin Fields? Those will be questions for the next 3-4 seasons.
No, its not desperate to take a superbowl winning vet and a young guy with potential, pay them almost nothing, and see how they play. Sure, we don't have a franchise QB, but those aren't being given out like candy.
We can’t win in Baltimore when it matters most? How many times has Lamar beaten my team? Why do people forget about that. If we face the Ravens in the first round, we are more than likely gonna win.
So to any Steelers fans...notice how we took no sacks with Bo Nix...how the offense had rhythm...you are all about to trust a defense minded coach to bring out the best in a QB PAST HIS PRIME💀
Took a much needed break from youtube. Which means i have a solid week-10 days worth of team previews to binge! Great work as always! My brother is a huge Stillllers fan and so is my gramma since she's from Pittsburgh. Anyways solid work as always boss! Keep it up!
I'm not here for the Donte Jackson slander. Dude is a solid CB2 and was a great addition to the team. If he stays healthy, he has the potential to be a pro bowl caliber Cornerback
As a steelers fan this is gonna sound biased, but i think this is rhe year we finally win our first playoff game since 2016. As we saw in the final 3 games with mason, if this team competent qb play and play calling they can do damage. I dont think we win the afc north, but its not out of the realm of possibility to win a playoff game
@@tpWeavile I'm not gonna be delusional and say superbowl lol. But if you don't think this team can win at least one playoff game your just being a hater
@@kiaadams104 our roster was way weaker last year compared to this year. And as for the schedule yeah it's tough but we are really good against the division so that helps. And as far as Smith, he's a better OC than HC. But the roster is way better compared to last year. And wr was shaping out fine till Wilson got hurt
It's a tough schedule for everyone in the North. No cupcake games. But that's how its always been. And playing with a bad QB and bad OC, we got 10 wins last year.
It's very likely they win at least 10 games this year. I'm not that confident in Artur Smith but all this team has to do is just run the dang ball. So they might get to the playoffs but anything beyond that is too much to hope for.
Wow, are YOU optimistic! Have you looked at their schedule? It's IMPOSSIBLY DIFFICULT, especially for a team that has trouble playing from behind. Added to that is the HUGE question they have at QB, and he will have to be pretty much perfect from the get go, regardless that their defense is very good. IMHO, this year's team has 7 and 10 written all over it. No .500 record for Tomlin this year, no way.
@@oscargallman4178 So, you're perfectly happy with them, huh? "We people" keep being right, so "we people" are going to continue saying it. So keep laughing your fao, it won't change anything.
Cameron Heyward had 2 sacks all year last year. Keanu Benton I love him. I wish the Bengals had drafted him in 2023. The Bengals drafted Kris Jenkins out of Michigan and the Nose Tackle McKinley Jackson out of Texas A&M. Keep your eyes open for those 2 guys this year as I think they are going to have an immediate impact. Particularly Kris Jenkins. He is an athletic DT at 6’3’’ 302 lbs who is very strong and was the best run stopping DT in the country last year. And he has untapped pass rushing potential because he is quick and fast. Jackson is 6’2’’ 330 lbs and he like DJ Reader is not only a good run stuffer but he can rush the passer too. It’s so hard to find a nose tackle who can do this. You got Dexter Lawrence, Vita Vea, DJ Reader, and that’s about it. I don’t think Christian Wilkins is or considers himself a Nose tackle even though if he played for me that’s where I would put him. Jackson is basically the same size as Reader. Reader is 1 inch taller and 5 lbs heavier but Jackson is faster and quicker than he is.
There's a lot to like with the Steelers, but they come with a lot of uncertainty. They are the unicorn team in the NFL that can literally do anything good or bad. Even if they suck this year, I'll be cheering for them through week 17!! But seriously if they don't roll over teams this year, I'll be pissed!
WOW DUDE! At first I thought you said that you couldn't see the Steelers going all the way to the Super Bowl TO PLAY New Orleans, instead of to play IN New Orleans. I 'bout fell out of my executive office chair!
Chase Claypool, Diontae Johnson, James Washington. George Pickens still can’t get open. Are they just gonna throw him 50/50 all year? The Steelers are starting to lose their reputation. It’s a reason they want to trade for Auyiuk. If Roman Wilson doesn’t pan out it’s official.
Didn't know Steelers fans were this high and think their team can get 11-12 wins. Every team, on paper, looks improved over last season. Doesn't mean squat though. Wilson is barely better than Pickett. Sean Payton is an offensive guru and Wilson still only looked like the 20th best QB in the league. Now Wilson has...Arthur Smith lmao Payton >> Smith. The Steelers rely on turnover luck way too much to win games. 8-9 is my prediction
Patrick Queen got less money then he was expected to get , the Steelers offense and defense both got better Huge qb room upgrade Good rookies Went 5-1 in the division last year so to say that we have to go 6-1 to start the season just to go 9-8 is a crazy ignorant statement To say our celling is wildcard exit shows that you don’t know what you are talking about You will see soon that the Steelers are a real threat
I think Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson should have won defensive player of the year last year. And Cameron Heyward is like 36 years old. He doesn’t scare anyone. He could not rush the passer last year. Do you think he has gotten better in his advanced age? I don’t. And Patterson is 33 which is ancient for a RB. And no he isn’t going to run one back in week 13 and beat the Bengals. The Bengals are going to sweep the Steelers and Ravens this year. Queen is a good MLB. He is the 3rd best in the league In my opinion. Better than Trumaine Edmunds BUT his success was contingent with playing next to THE BEST MLB in football in Roquan Smith. Yes Smith is better than Fred Warner. Before Smith got to the Ravens they decided not to pick up Queens 5th year option. Why not? Because he was VERY inconsistent until last year when Smith arrived. And the Ravens are paying Smith 20 mil a year. The Bengals 2 MLBs are making a combined 15-16 mil a year. Logan Wilson is a Pro Bowl level MLB and Germaine Pratt is very underated. In 2022 Pratt was the best Coverage LB in football. The Bengals are stacked at LB. You got the 2 starters Wilson and Pratt and they got Akeem Davis Gaither who is a modern LB at 6’3’’ 225 and runs 4.50 so he can run with the best of them sideline to sideline. And behind him we got Joe Bachie who is an underrated MLB and the 5th spot is open right now but I think will be filled by either Shaka Heyward, Cam Heywards 1st cousin, out of Duke or Aaron Casey a LB out of Indiana. Casey is interesting because this guy was a beast In college. Total tackling machine who I think when he gets his shot is going to surprise everyone. He is good.
As a PA sports fan, the Steelers will win 10-11 or maybe even 12 games. They have a tough schedule but the upside is their 5-1 division record from last year. The key to succeeding in the AFC North is going to be playing well against divisional opponents, and no one plays AFC North football better than the Steelers.
They are not winning 12 fucking games.. they are the worst team in that division.. they not winning the AFC North... yall don't even know who yall QB gonna be yet.. I get it you a fan but come on bro you gotta be realistic too
@@DIRTYSOUTHSHINOBI Yes, 12 was a reach, but not impossible. 10-11 should be more reasonable. But they have improved greatly from last year with their draft and off-season, and most of their tough opponents play in their division. And my point was that they play their division exceptionally well regardless of talent. So my question is: why shouldn't they improve from 10 wins if their whole roster top to bottom is much better compared to last year?
@@DIRTYSOUTHSHINOBI It's way closer than you think. We're the only team in the division that really got better with noticeable additions with Patrick Queen and two QB's that are better than anyone we had last year where we made the playoffs. Ravens got way worse on defense (we'll see if King Henry still has it), Bengals can't stay healthy and don't have that Superbowl roster anymore with Joe Burrow making top dollar, and the Browns have just as large if not a larger question mark at QB.
@@DIRTYSOUTHSHINOBI I AGREE. As our host pointed out, they do not play well from behind. LOOK AT THEIR SCHEDULE! In addition to all their very difficult divisional opponents, they have Texans, Bills, Lions, CHIEFS, and Cowboys. And who knows? Maybe even the Jets and Falcons will be good this year. And with quarterback questions--big questions!--I don't see how they win more than seven games, with eight being a stretch. But 12? RIDICULOUS!
“The Steelers won’t be able to pay Pickens, Freiremuth, or Joey Porter due to Queen contract” tell me you know nothing about NFL salary cap without telling me you don’t know anything about salary cap😂
5 and 12… maybe 6 and 11.. there’s a good chance they lose all eight of their last eight games. Look at the schedule, it’s the toughest in the NFL this year, and the Steelers have all new quarterbacks and a new coordinator. The players don’t even know each other’s names yet. there’s always next year after a good draft pick.. Keith Allen is the quarterback of the future for the Steelers.. we already know what Wilson and Fields are. So do the other teams. They know their tendencies, their abilities, their weakness, and how to defend them. This season hasn’t started yet, but I can still hear don Meredith singing.. “ turn out the lights--The party‘s over”
10-7, But it will look alot better with a more secure QB behind center. Russ isnt what he was 10 years ago but he will throw more tds and less ints than kenny...
Tomlin has wasted a lot of players prime years. Pouncy, Hayward, watt, ab, Eli Roger's, highsmith, najee Harris, big Ben, Broderick Jones... 1st round talent who has barely played, minka who's been hurt the last 2 years playing behind Kenny pickett trash ass offense. Now he's trying to live out a fantasy with Justin fields who's been inaccurate his whole career.... hoping he can turn it all around now....
Not denying he’s wasted some primes, but this is a very ignorant comment. AB chose to leave and you could argue the only reason killer B’s didn’t win it all was because of injury. Najee and Alex are both definitely still in their prime as well. Broderick not playing as much his first year is kinda normal. A lot of teams do this because it takes a few years for OL to get accustomed to the NFL. Minkah getting hurt is not a direct result of the trash offense but yea Canada was held on to way too long can’t disagree with that. Bringing in Fields for a conditional 2025 6th clearly shows they aren’t banking on him being good, Russ was brought in first and named the starter for a reason.
@pjacc9628 fields is.not in the convo, he's trash. How long did ab play with us and how many playoff games did we win? Tomlin also received an awesome oline and what happened? Hayward is done, Harris is done, watt is done and minka is done. And it's not on Canada, tomlin is the head coach. Luckily today, they started with Jones and the rookie at tackle today. Luckily.
Tell me how is the QB the problem when they went out and got a couple proven QB's Pickett is pure trash, Mitch is 10 times worst than Pickett and Rudolph is not but a back up. Also they had the worst OC in NFL History. They improved the O line and got a top 5 defense., Please Just be a typical Steelers hater and dog pile along with the other sports media clowns and say they are garbage at QB. Wilson is a good qb, it was not a good fit in Denver and Peyton is a Trash HC. Just stop it. Keep your opinions to after the start of the season because all you going on is past and predictions. Past is Past.
I would think these predictions would be correct? Steelers have a history of not having a losing season & being first game exits. Fields & a shell of Russ is an upgrade at QB but it wouldn't be wrong to assume we see the same old 9-8 or 10-7 season with a playoff loss since they haven't shown anything to prove otherwise.
Please trade T.J and Cam to a contender team. Chiefs maybe. Under Dumblin we will never win anything relevant. Offense still a mess, Dumblin hired Canada 2.0 and damage the Steelers for another 3 years. I'm so sick of this no loosing season bullshit. A winner team have fired Tomlin years ago.
Heres my reasoning for them being good if they managed to win 10 games with Kenny and Mason at QB and won more than half of those games when Matt Canada was still there then shit they can go far Justin or Russell just have to be better then Kenny picket and Arthur smith be better than Matt Canada and again isn’t saying much but still just be better and this team could easily bullshit their way too winning the division that and Mike Tomlin hasn’t failed to have a winning record
This Steelers team is the definition of "boom or bust", cause while the potential is there, especially at QB, one part pulling its weight can severely drag this team down, not something you want in a fiercely competitive AFC North. The obvious elephant in the room is at QB, cause while both Wilson and Fields have flashed their potentials at times, they come with their own baggage. Wilson is already on the wrong end of 30, and I seriously wonder if the constant coaching carousel in Chicago has permanently stunted Fields' development. If the Steelers can actually fix him, then it's great, cause it means they may have their long term solution under center. Otherwise, I hope the Steelers have the cap space to lure a QB over, cause it will take a lot of money, given the massive inflation in the QB market. The Steelers also have a hole at middle linebacker, and while it pains me personally to see Patrick Queen in black and gold (you can guess why), but if he can prove he does not need Roquan around to produce just as well, then I am happy for him. However, like I said, this team is "boom or bust", with a very high ceiling, but also a very low floor. If any of their core players miss time, or if neither Field nor Wilson is the solution under center, the Steelers have an uphill climb to get to the playoffs, let alone win the AFC North crown.
broncos fan watching Russ the past 2 seasons, yeah he might be cooked mentally. might see some ghosts out there and will likely spin into defenders within a clean pocket so I know for sure I will not be tuning into any of the steelers offense, only if Justin Fields starts tho
