I was raised by my deaf grandparents practically. Im so glad to see people seeing deaf people for exactly who they are just people who are deaf.

What a great idea! Hearing impaired are people not to be discriminated.

I lived in a dorm where one for was entirely Deaf students. I knew (very little) ASL, but was able to introduce myself and it wasn't long before I had made several new friends and I rapidly became fluent with their help. I had the opportunity to go to Deaf events and clubs and it was a great experience to be submersed in a different culture using a second language. I think using Deaf owned businesses is an experience everyone should have - at the very least to challenge your (hearing) view of the world from a position where you're at a disadvantage. I think it builds empathy.

My grandfather parents had perfect hearing, they had 17 boys all deaf, then the last child born was a girl got perfect hearing.
