This is not me doing the actual work, just describing it, and covering some very rare detail aspects of the work.
This is information that is now for free, and will help you get the most basic higher level Hi-Fi cable, saving you a lot of money.
This does not have a protective screen or outside that collects the cable. The purpose is to give people a good value and natural sounding cable using some cool tricks.
DO NOT MAKE THIS WITHOUT CONSULTING WITH A PROFESSIONAL, this is just how I do it on some of my cables. So seek advice from a pro. (all people in the industry do this slightly differently)
I don't like to use clamps on the cables, and I don't like to use protective/anti oxidative treatment of the ends. If you want to do this consult a pro. I am not a pro, just a passionate audiophile.
Materials used:
Plugs: Oyaide 037 set from a real authorized dealer. (not ebay)
Sommercable elephant 4x 4mm2 speaker cable, some might want to use 2.5mm2 instead especially for Wattgate/Furutech/Viborg plugs if it does not fit.
And another really good sounding cable is Audio Note ISIS power cable for around 100 UK pounds per meter, with wattgate silver 350/390 plugs in a circa 1.5m configuration without removing the outside construction of the cable. (this is a lot easier to build and fully legal)
Remember to twist the ends of the strand clockwise. And that if you are using a double minus configuration, then also twisting the wires slightly to a lot, depending on what signature you like.
Yes you can also use black tape on them, but for me it removes a bit of the natural flow.
When in doubt always contact a pro!
This video is made to inspire the community to improve all peoples sound.
And yes there are cables in the stores that typically are in the 5-20k USD category that are sometimes much much better. This is just to give you a very good start.
If you need help with your system, send me a mail to get a consultation. I do not give free tips or recommendations anymore, but I do give 1 consultation that will give you the power for you to to solve your own problems for 5-15 years time.

I'm confused. Are you saying it's better to double up the neutral? I know you've said that elsewhere. Larry, you ever thought of trying Rio Grande and buying the dead soft fine silver? Smallest diameter is 0.2mm which is 32 gauge/ Probably best to lacquer each strand which would be a massive hassle. My dealer recommends using Dueland silver foil and silk and oil. One strand. 1.0 for the DAC 5 Signature and 2.0 for the Meishu. (Maybe use 1.0 for the hot and 2.0 for the neutral - my idea). Run inside a black sheath and let them have some distance between them. Partsconnexion has a 60% off sale most of the time and it's a little cheaper then the Audio Note hookup wire. The Audio Note 1mm is fairly cheap though. I worked it out and it's only a little more expensive then the Dueland as measured by cross sectional area. I guess that most of the cost is in pulling the wire and lacquering it. And he doesn't recommend the Oyaide plugs no matter which one. He hates anything rhodium. He uses the cheapest plugs from hificollective that are silver plated. Very strange that he would be so cheap when his preamp is a M9 Phono. I talked to another guy that manufacturers audio gear. He said that a wire that is larger then it needs to be will kill the sound. It's like there needs to be an optimum amount of springiness in the system. So having too much capacitance also ruins the sound. Notice that people don't go around using bigger capacitors than they need to just because overbuilding can do no wrong. So I wonder if the conductor your using is too big. You don't mention the gauge but it looks really big. That's fine if powering a high powered amp which I'm pretty sure you aren't. Though I haven't built my own power cables that sounded any different that run of the mill and just meant to get me going.

I've currently various scrappy 12cm length wire(s) of different materials around my desktop to interchange the jumpers on my speakers. Great way to figure which direction* to go. Great video, good advice.

Been experimenting with Wattgate Silver & Oyaide cable with excellent results. Interesting the Wattgate silver is mfg in Mexico while Wattgate 320 evo (standard) is mfg in Taiwan. Philips screwdriver hardware on silver plug and allen key fasteners on standard plug. I'll make a video someday. Surprisingly, i thought the build quality was better on the standard plugs. I'll give this method a try on my next go at it.

I'm a bit confused as to which you like better, in particular in combination with AN Isis PC, Wattgate AG or Oyaide C-037? With most rhodium-plated connectors of any kind, I tend to hear something like a glassy "ping" like harshness that may seemingly add to listening pleasure for a while, but ultimately is an effect changing the perception of transients. Having said that, silver-coating without rhodium may make transients sound softer than real, so ultimately may come down to synergy with e.g. tube versus transistor gear. If you were to build these as all-purpose PCs to use in different systems, would you have a preference for one or the other?

Wattgate silver for the more rolled off top and better stereo imaging. And Oyaide 037 for a more honest/pure/slightly more deep sound. The 037 won't forgive many system faults, but is still relatively warm. The Wattgate forgives more system faults. I prefer the Oyaide 037 with other maybe higher end /more expensive cables. And then the wattgate silver for the ISIS cable. Wattgate silver is great for many silver cables.

Plus aka LIVE is always on the right side in the wall. What you are doing is installing the live wire on the wrong side. Live and neutral needs to measure the exact same. Otherwise you will have loading issues.

Just wondering what is C-037 indicates ?
@RealHIFIHelp
@RealHIFIHelp 2 года назад
It's the element number for the metal on the periodic table. Silver or rhodium.

Same sound because of same metals. My PDF I sell also explains what happens when you mix plugs of different kinds.

Do you have experience with the futurech top of line ncf plugs, for example FI-50? I wonder if they also have this kind of "compensational" sound or if they are in another league and are actually very good sounding, maybe even better than the oyaide you show, but way too expensive, so not interesting maybe due to price?Thank you

Yes I tried them many times. They are more perfect/boosted in sound/in a way warm. But not in a natural way. They are just not very natural in the way that it achieves it's perfection. Right and left channel is unnaturally separated with artifically suppressed noise, so yes in the start it's a dream come true. Until you start to listen to a lot of real music with only instruments. Then you can hear that something is very wrong. Yes of course on Nordost Odin 1 and 2 they are amazing and a good fit. But they are just too good, like most power conditioners that extra detail comes at a huge price that tilts the priority.

What's your opinion on Sommer speaker cables? I've just discovered them recently and I really enjoy them. In my opinion they are very warm and rich.
@RealHIFIHelp

Very underrated and good for the price, neutral, dry, earthy & something you usually would pay 5-10x more for. I only know the Elephant and Quadra blue version, both are extremely good for the price.

Thank you for your reply! I totally agree with you! I use sc orbit 240, because they are very smooth and liquid sounding. Not the last word in transparency, but they are a match made in heaven with my amp and speakers.

I agree on Sommer Cable - had Epilogue for years until I discovered Ramm Audio. Walks all over SommerCable.

Dude………., please get onto building the cord, as you’ve a tendency to drag things on for far to long. And I’ve to ask, what puts you in the position to charge for said services?, when it’s merely based upon your opinions, and I’ve yet to see your actual system, as it seems you show someone else’s setup, what’s with that?.

1. This video is free. 2. No one has done this before giving these tips away. 3. Your welcome. 4. I have shown my system several times in several videos. 5. I deliberately called it a plan, and not a 3 hour video on how to do the job for you. 6. I don't do trendy 5 minutes crafts videos, those are for idiots who hate their job and wants to tune out. This is for people who wants to put the time in and get a personal experience, at a fraction of what you get to pay for most places.
