Thanks Blake! Yeah, I'm really excited for this next step. Should be a fun process and I look forward to sharing progress videos with everyone. I'm feeling really grateful for this life, glad things all worked out with the transition from Corp Life to how I'm currently living!
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures hey I just wanted to let you know that they make solar powered mini split heating and cooling systems. You could power them at night by battery or generator. Just thought you might want to look into that to add to what you’re doing.
It's been fun watching the progress. The lookout tower house is going to be awesome! Did you ever go check to see if the bunny was still in the hole? 😱 😅
Yeah, it's definitely keeping me busy! However I think the end result will be even better than what I'm expecting. Very excited to see my land transform to a green oasis!
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures I'll keep sending the good vibes. I finally vanquished the mint in my backyard after digging it out and cursing it for 6 years. My mother in law planted *one* mint plant in 1969 and then it took over. Even when the house burned down in the 90's, the mint was the first thing to come back and it choked out everything else.
I really enjoy your videos , and at the end watching Sierra Brian , a lot of my smiles are accompanied by tears in my eyes ! Going to research some of the old videos again ! Stay safe !
I love my juniper trees my chickens hide under them when its hot out ... I store supplies under them to keep stuff from decaying in the direct sunlight
Yes, after sharing the work on your irrigation, I thought of the incredible transformation you have accomplised from the Corp world.. Its So exciting to share your Architectual Thoughts and design of your home. 🎉🎉
Looks great Brian. That’s a nice little layout. Meadow is running fast she keeps on point. Farthest west I ever got was Grants New Mexico in the late fifties. There is some pretty weird weather out there.
I don’t know if you caught it or not, but at 12:43, I saw a piece of bull quartz. You may have gold on your land. Pan those check dams. Something tells me you will have black sand and possible color in your pan.
i would not remove the trees syntropic farming teaches us plants help each other grow, perhaps pollard them for fire wood or mulch also dig swales and plant along them you have the water. run that seasonal creek into a dam you dig and line with clay.
I'll tell you my recommendation you have that much rain I backhoe a 40 ft by 40 ft and about 20 feet deep and line it with pond liner and let it fill up
It won't look as tidy but you could accelerate the process and keep more sediment by putting debris like sticks and other organic material you clear from other areas. The soil would likely be more stable as well. I'm not a hydrologist tho. Looking good!
meadow getting bigger Brian sometimes from the back you would think it was sierra i am loving the way you are using nature to work for you the monsoon reminds of the heavy rain we get here in the UK going to save this for my Daughter Kiri who is coming to visit today have a great week
pretty sure junipers are native to northen arizona , theres no way a juniper drinks 6000 gallons of water unless its the size of the house, trees in general hold on moisture much better then grass does, you wont have green pasture like it was in the past unless the climate cools down if you havent noticed the trend is temperatures are going up, things in 70s were much cooler temps wise
How about all those trees sequestering carbon cooling the earth. To make a blanket statement the trees are worthless means lack of knowledge and he needs to go to no az university for expert advice.
How did the Rocky mountain junipers arrive? Will you need/create fire breaks for the grasses? Will you have good ground rod on the home for lightening protection? Metal roof?
AWESOME brian! im happy for you. your finally going to get that dream tower tiny home. and aawwww, mrs. sierra. She was just amazing brian, she is so missed. thanks so much for bringing us all along through your content, about your life and adventures and your amazing pumpkins(sierra and meadow). Keep rocking on and keeping enjoying your life amazing dude.
Hey Darren! Yeah, I plan to make sure to have a stand pipe. How are things going for you and Susan this summer? I sure have enjoyed this rain recently, hope it keeps dumping!
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures thank you we're doing well and having fun we're trying to get a rain catch going soon off the roof of are 80ft mobile home for the garden.
Thank you Brian and nizhoni Meadow. It's great that your new home is starting up. Loved seeing Meadow running alongside you on the road on your property. Have a great day you two. Hope the rabbit got out safely. 🐇
Hey Larry! Yeah I'm really excited how things are progressing out here. What are you up to the next few weeks? We should set up a time for you to cruise out here to camp at my place for a few days. Let me know how your schedule looks and we'll get something on the calendar.
Hi Brian and Meadow, We enjoy watching you videos. Thank you for sharing. Your ideas for the house build are looking good. We originally found you on youtube when we were looking to expand our truck. I really like the M1 topper and looking forward to seeing how you use it.. Happy weekending and Happy monsooning. Sincerely, Tanya Joe and the Kitties.
Septic is way different there than in Virginia, lol. We have a holding tank, then several drain field lines as much as 100’ long ditches, gravel, piping with weep holes, etc. I hope we get to see how it works
Dang, I hope it hits you all soon. I've been lucky up here, it rained a couple of times per day ever since last Friday. Looking like we'll get a break in the weather this weekend and then it's supposed to start up again on Monday. It's been a great start to the season over here, I'll send some rain your way!
@@NK-iv1ik gotta pushback on your misplaced comments...first off, the trees are invasive and have turned the environment more arid by not giving the tallgrass a chance to grow. Tallgrass is FAR SUPERIOR in trapping groundwater compared to the invasive Rocky Mtn Juniper and provide much better habitat for smaller animals. Regarding the bunny, that's life out here. The comment about "coverage for everyone's safety"...who are referring to? It's just me out here and I don't need to have OSHA standards for a simple hole in the ground. Perhaps you could so some research to educate yourself on why your comments are misguided. Here's a good starting point for you regarding the invasive species I'm eliminating from my property. This video is from AZ Game and Fish, the footage is literally about 3 miles down the road from where I live... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qEbBiO7Z7D8.htmlsi=pzGzOyrf6XygRXnp
