Playstation has just games based off of kids movies. Ps1 is sonys best system and the PS2 is the worst and most overrated boring system. I'm glad riff's one of the few people telling the truth about playstation. Most people won't admit it because so many people grew up with playstation as kids.

Riff instead of Scrolling just pick a random game and try it. Your not going to know if you actually enjoy it if you keep Scrolling past them. I have done this before with my backlog of games and gone why did I not play this sooner.

PS1 was incredible in the mid to late 90's. Resident Evil 1, Rayman, Mega Man X4, Jumping Flash, Castlevania SOTN, and so much more. But i could never get on board with PS2, my PS3 & PS4, and now my PS5 is mostly collecting dust outside of the wonderful time i had with the latest main line Resident Evil games, and with a splash of PSVR2. I hate the direction both Sony & MS have gone since the 2000's. They stripped away that late 80's & 90's fun, and opted for two tone black and white boxes that are hell bent on pushing mature titles. Video games consoles outside of Nintendo just don't look unique, exciting or fun anymore. Sigh, the world, or just pop culture in general, used to be a lot more fun back in the day.
The PS1 was fantastic back in the mid to late 90's, with titles like Resident Evil 1, Rayman, Mega Man X4, Jumping Flash! and so much more. As was Dreamcast which easily had one of the greatest launches in console history. And I loved how Sony really embraced mid 90's pop culture with their first PlayStation. It really showed through with their commercials, Adds and neon accented console & controller(Pre-DualShock) design, including it's colourful fun neon splat-filled memory card/system UI presentation. Unfortunately, that never carried over with PS2. Sony took themselves way too seriously at that point, and most of it's games were boasting dreary washed out brown & grey colour palettes(PS3 even more so) and was hell bent on pushing mature titles. I hated everything about that console. Same deal mostly applies to PS3, PS4, PS5 and nearly everything XBOX. I guess it's a reflection of the times. Insert sterile two tone Black & White video game box. That's the future for ya. lol bummer! The Dreamcast truly felt like the last FUN, exciting and unique none-Nintendo console. It had so much character and really felt like it was head of it's time. It was the video game swan song of the late 90's.
Skateboarding is NOT a sport. Nor do skaters want it to be. Skating is a culture, a lifestyle. Skaters are not jocks. We don't want to be jocks. Skaters are the anti-jock. Skaters are not conformists. Skaters are not organized. We love chaos. We have a different mindset. Is skating physical? It can be. But so can shoveling snow and that's not a sport. In a sport, you score often. I used to try for days to land a single trick and when it finally happens, those hours, days were worth those 2-3 seconds of achievement. Jeff Grosso is rolling over in his grave hearing this.. Imagine telling Gonz that he's an athlete instead of a skater. BTW. Love the podcast.
Kinda curious why Riff dislikes the ps2 when other systems in the same 6th gen are pretty mediocre. I bought the xbox over the ps2, and yet the only game i played exclusive to the xbox was Halo. Everything else i played in the xbox were available on the ps2. I just bought a used ps2 just four years ago and I am amazed at the amount of exclusives that the system has. Devil may cry, god of war, jak and daxter, ratchet and clank, metal gear solid snake eater, shadow of colossus. Jesus, that is a crap load of games I missed out on as a result of me picking the xbox over the ps2. Even the first guitar hero appeared as an exclusive on the ps2.
The PSX is the most memorable console to me. Castlevanis SoTN and FFVII made sure of that. It felt like I was trying to game on the NES/SNES days and with the PSX i was actually gaming :)
Ps1 is amazing. So much gems and known classics. Sometimes it takes time to see or appreciate something different. Ps1 has many 2D/2,5D games as well. Yall have a deep hate for PlayStation huh. Tho no good reasons given 😂😂

It’s true. They ruined Han, they ruined Luke, they ruined Indy, they took all these awesome characters from the 70s - 90s and emasculated them for the “modern audience”. They took IPs that were popular and tuned them into cheap knockoffs.
The Adventures of Lomax, The Adventures of Little Ralph, Silhouette Mirage, Skullmonkeys, Tomba! 1&2, Mega Man X4, Panzer Bandit, Point Blank 1-3, Gunner's Heaven, Strider 2, Brave Fencer Musashi, Ape Escape, Castlevania Chronicles and SOTN, and the 3 AMAZING Ganbare Goemon 2D platformers and sequels to the SNES/Super Famicom games. You know it's all about the games, not the console, start with these PlayStation 1 games. I promise you, out of these at least 1 or 2 will become a new favorite/find a fun quality game. It has thousands of games, you're bound to find something you'll love, you just have to look at the games.
I really enjoy these segments, especially the hate on PlayStation 😂. Also I'm a HUGE marvel fan and I love star wars but the biggest issue with both companies comes down to two factors: 1.) Bob Chapek the previous CEO wanting all the content on Disney Plus within a short time frame so quality was bad 2.) bad writing and no showrunners. Marvel you sill see a big difference in the quality of thr movies with Deadpool and Wolverine and tv shows Daredevil Born Again. Star Wars side is changing as well to having showrunners in 2025 which i hope means better writing because damn only the Mandalorian and Andor being the two shows worth watching. I skipped the ps1 for the ps2, so I backlogged. there are some very unique games I go back to play on the regular, I.Q. intellegent qube, Einhaender, Jedi Power Battles. I go back to play regularly. and a lot of pc games I found from play ps1 games at my firends house like diablo, decent, uprising, Worms!
Man, that feeling of seeing an IP you love go down the toilet is awful. This is how I felt the moment Disney made the Star Wars EU "Legends". Now that's how I feel about Halo since 5...
SW def isnt dead, lots of haters now a days but the last two newer star wars games got a lot of accolades and was generally well received. A new sandbox star wars is coming out and looks promising.
I was the biggest Marvel Fanboy ever. But I stopped watching anything Disney produced when they started inserting Socio-Political garbage in their entertainment. Thats not stuff I want my daughter to watch. it didnt help either that they doubled down on their decision even after tons of fans said they didnt like it.
He loves the NES & SNES, Genesis & even the Wii+Virtual Console, including 80's & 90's pop culture unless I'm mistaken. lol so i'd say his tastes are pretty damn great! :P I feel like Nintendo has been the video game saviour through out the 2000's and on wards. Sony and MS keep pushing these bleak depressing try-hard mature two tone black & white boxes/consoles that are so focused on realistic graphics, long winded cut scenes combined with that hollywood flash & flare, and it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth, compared to gaming in the 90's and late 80's and just how amazing video game pop culture was back then. We did have it better back then and it's the truth! :P The Arcades, NES, SNES, Genesis + Sega CD, Turbo GraFX, Super GameBoy, followed up with the Saturn, PS1, N64 and the best 6th gen console of them all, the Sega Dreamcast. ;)
@@NintenZoid84 lol nobody is saying that retro games or any of those consoles suck and while Riff does have some solid recomendations for video games, most of the time he recommends a lot of crap games and his opinions are nostalgia based. He's not at all objective about it. Plus we're just talking about video games, not other pop culture stuff.

@@NegativeGamer418 He probably doesn't have much time to game these days with work and family etc. Besides, history has been laid out, If you grew up during whatever time you did chances are the consoles you had as a kid, teenager and even as a younger adult will have the biggest impact on you. The good old days when we didn't have to work that 9 to 5 with other responsibilities. :P

Quantity does not equal quality. People always say that ps2 has the best library because it has the most games. Ps2 has quantity, but not quality when It comes to games. It's the truth. Nintendo and Microsoft have amazing games that everyone knows like Halo, Gears, Super Smash, Super Mario. Sony has no memorable exclusive games. Especially for the ps2.

Ratchet or Jak Xbox Original wasn’t even talked about til xbox 360 no one gave damn OG xbox unless it was halo lol I can’t really say anything about I’ll about Nintendo they been using the same character for the last 30 plus years and it works. People love nostalgia when it comes to Nintendo IP many other would say the same thing for ps2 or other consoles.
