I heard Sony say multiple times and even had a gdc presentation where they said that "booster box" is not booster box and is just for 3D audio and to separate the tv and vr signal

Been having my mind blown in the metaverse with the Vive since April 2016. It's not just about video games, in fact I don't even play VR games. I spend most my time in VRChat, it's pretty much the beginnings of the real life "Ready Player One"

New Model is $300, which comes with Doom VFR. Which has the built in headphones, thinner cable, and new Processing Box which can actually pass-thru an HDR Signal (the original doesn't support HDR passthru).

Looks like we both got the old units. I believe they’re just trying to burn through the old units with that sale that just ended. No big whoop though as I’d rather have that controller dongle than to mess with the headset itself

Cause there are deals if you purchase with the best buy credit card but as far as the psvr its 199.99 with gran turismo but no crazy discount marking price down under 100 bucks I would've been all over that.

I would definitely go for another PS VR for co op play, but only if they sell the vr headset on its own for $99.99. I already have 2 cameras and don’t need another game. So until they give me that option I won’t be buying another one ... maybe. I know they sell much more this way. With the game and whatnot.

Best VR bang for the buck! Play Farpoint with the Aim controller, Resident Evil 7, and Skyrim. You will become a believer. It's unreal what Sony was able to pull off. Hook up is literally 1..2..3. Micro usb & HDMI connect processor box to ps4, and headset plugs into the processor box. Done. A Tv is not needed after the initial setup process. Sony has a winner here.

Unfortunately I'm still somewhat scared away from VR since Oculus Rift wasn't good enough for me in terms of Resolution and Field of View. And so i don't feel any need to buy an even inferior Headset but hope on a sucessor of the Rift or the Vive, because i still believe in VR, but it's not there yet...

so how many times exactly donpeople have to explain that the splitter bix HAS NO ADDITIONAL PROCESSING POWER... it has an Audio chip for the positional audio, and an interpolation chip that interpolates the image up to 120hz... that's it... no additional power, just stuff to make the headset work

Hit you up Games that are not just tech demos: Farpoint Skyrim VR Star Trek Bridge Crew Resident Evil 7 Rigs Battlezone Eve Valkyrie: Wormhole Dirt Rally Rez Infinite Driveclub VR The Solus Project Skyrim alone has more replayability then the full wii library :D

The Oculus Go seems to pretty much be a stand alone Gear VR.

one big advantage for Oculus Go is being wireless and stand alone. also, it has a higher resolution screen than PSVR so u get less screen door effect, higher field of view. PSVR has way too many wires, cords, and is mostly a hassle to use. it requires a camera and the move controllers are necessary to really enjoy it.

portalplayer Pretty sure Oculus Go will be in the same category as other smartphone headsets. It won't run games like RE7, Skyrim, DOOM VFR etc. because they can't fit the required hardware in that small enclosure and certainly not for 200$.

Just make cockpit games for VR, don't do FPS, do a mech shooter, where you're controlling a giant mech doing the shooting, instead of making that toy gun, do joystick control.

Horatio voice chat should be as simple as plugging in ur headset and talking to ur team it shouldn't be complicated which as VR is a whole another system on it's own

QUESTION? Does it still work to plug in the Nintendo Switch (or any other HDMI media device)? I know it used to, but I'm wondering if they patched that function out. You used to be able to watch everything in sort of a virtual theater mode.

Vr wil be as cheep as what 3d technology is now. 3d glasses used to be 150 and tied to a brand. Now you can find any for 20 dollars.
