Nice Video. I have an Audi e-tron 50 for more then 18 months now. As you are aware it is pure electrical. There is major issues when you do the jump for a full electric car if you don't have a charger at home. Added to that, as more users buying full electrical cars in UK, the public chargers in case you need them when you go for a long journey are not enough for the demand. It is really stressful when your plan a journey that will take you 2.5 hours changes for 5 hours because you are trying to find a charger available. The chargers are in use or out of service so you end up not enjoying your trip. The car systems are not fully connected with the charging network to give you a full picture about the poles available to recharge your car. The car is absolutely amazing but in my fair opinion, the infrastructure is not prepare to accommodate too many vehicles on the road. The Hybrid is by far a more reliable solution until the countries are prepared to make the big move to a full electric car park. If you leave in a flat, do not buy an electric car unless you have a way to charge daily at work. Blessings
Very good enlightening video for me Ferdi. I am in now partly convinced to replace my current Volvo XC60 ICE to the V60...My question for you is , what about the long term (beyond 8yrs after the battery warranty) reliability of owning a PHEV ? Would you know how much to replace the PHEV battery for the Volvo ?
Thank you kindly Jagdeep. Interesting question that because Ferdi actually owns 3 naturally aspirated BMWs but the oldest of that is an E39 520i. He does like his BMWs but unfortunately due to the pandemic and the various lockdowns he's not had the chance to test drive the 330e M Sport yet. According to him, it will be very hard to dethrone the Volvo S60 though, it really is quite a brilliant car.
@@carlist_my Thank you for your reply, you know i was all but set to book the 330e M Sport, till i was advised by a senior car enthusiast that no research is complete without the Volvo, and man this car is a beast! will test drive it this Sunday. Thank you for your video, it gave me insight as to what to try and look for this sunday.
@@jagdeepsingh3684 You're more than welcome Jagdeep! We agree with that senior car enthusiast - wise man. Enjoy the test drive this weekend and let us know what you decide in the end.
Great vid. With the new MB C300e coming next year w 100km of pure electric before engine kicks in I wonder if bmw and Volvo will step it up cause price will be pretty close
Hi Marvin, unfortunately we don't have those figures with us as Ferdi charged the car nightly using a 3-pin socket which he does not recommend for safety reasons.
