I cannot believe you don’t think this is appropriate for a formal audiobook release. At least performance-wise, it’s of a much better quality than a number of self-help and even narrative selections on Audible and other retailers. I’ve listened to audio versions of allegedly popular works whose narrators didn’t sound nearly as sure of themselves as you did!

Thanks so much for this! Excited to see where I stay and land going forward! I am 45k words into my very first epic fantasy LitRPG novel that I outlined using methods I learned from Chris Fox over the years. I find myself with chapters doing a combination of following outline but also pantsing. I also talked with Dean Weasley Smith myself recently about his Writing into The Dark method and "Heinlein's Rules of Writing: Principles for Success". I'm really excited to hear your story the other day how you started outlining and found it just didn't work for you. I'm not dogmatic about my approach so I'm really excited to learn the pantsing side as I have been the outlining side for years now to figure out what process works for me. I'm going to try both fully, and see what ends up coming out to work well for me. I am also now Dictating on walks too and trying that! Testing all the methods. Thanks for posting this and I am deff a fan of your channel now, as I am working hard to finish the very first draft of my very first novel! I'm still right now following my outlined work but find myself pantsing alot of the content in Chapters and scenes as well! SO we will see where I land end up in my writing process. For everyones reference Dean Weasley Smith also teaches these "Heinlein's Rules of Writing: Principles for Success"; You must write. You must finish what you start. You must refrain from rewriting (except to editorial demand, spelling/grammer correction). You must put it on the market. You must keep it on the market."

No audio processing? You must have a great microphone, because the audio sounds great! Thanks for sharing this!

I wouldn’t really consider this pantsing…which to me is just sitting down and saying, “I’m going to write a story about x” and then typing away to see what happens….no thought or research to anything other than your ambition to tell a story. There appears to be some planning on the form of research and some contemplation of plot and character before the actual writing happens, so while you may not be writing a beat by beat summary of the entire story from beginning to end, you are doing some legwork ahead of time. I would call it “plotsing”

You write 5-10 books a year but you’re not a full time writer. I have to ask why. I know lawyers make a lot of money but how much does it take for you to quit your job and write full time?
