@@BryceChristopherHodge hmm I don't think its 16th-note rate either. Its triplets grouped in 5s. He was playing a triplet groove. Try playing straight triplets to his tempo and you find the beats are aligned.
@@paulifea7072 yeah, I think I mistyped it or something. I’m another comment I wrote a year ago, I said, “Yowza! Five-note grouping at the 16th-note triplet rate is nasty! 😃”
I truly enjoy your videos!!!! You are inspiring so many people, keep on doing you. Drums were my first instrument, however, I could not get my mind and feet and hands to work together and independently of each other, lol. I then attempted Tenor Sax , which was not for me, and it is funny because my favorite musician in the world is a Tenor Saxophone player named John Coltrane, however, before, I quit music, the trumpet chose me, and it is my weapon of choice. I have not been practicing lately, however, it is my weapon of choice........ Keep on inspiring others

Yes, it seems like the 16th Quentrup trick. It’s not easy and I haven’t done it in a while. Out of practice. I’m a drummer turned Argentine Tango instructor years ago....which I think you should consider? Tango I mean, don’t give up drums. You were born to play. Love your show, Big “PQ” fan.
