Thank you Ash! Your videos have encouraged me to complement my suits and jackets with a pocket square. Pocket squares add a touch of personality. As a newbie to pocket squares i prefer single coloured and conservative patterns with the square fold or presidential/Bond fold. Maybe when I have evolved in my sartorial skills I will go for more flamboyant patterns and folds. ;-)

I wish there was a similar channel for ladies.

The thing is this covid pandemic is getting out of hand. It iis hindering us to live a normal life. With omicron I'm avoiding shopping in the city and going out except for groceries. Cultural places are closed. Only hiking and walking my dog gives me fresh air. The time to wear fully my wardrobe is at the most modest.

You should own that phrase Add a Touch of Chaos to your style with the Pocket Square. I just can't help but laugh when you mention Chaos and Pocket Square. One the best thing i've heard in the last seven day for sure. I'm now throughly educated on the stylish element of the Poocket Square and the personality it can bring to ones style. I surely like the pop it brings.

With 4 paisley pocket squares in different colours you can always find a colour that goes with your tie 😎

Another really useful vid Ash....it would be if value to see a “Tie” video based on those of us who wear Tweed sports jackets...since subscribing to your channel I have purchased a light grey, light green and brown hue coloured Harris tweed jackets but am struggling to match ties to an outfit with one of the jackets included...colour, pattern, width etc. I know ties are a personal thing so any hints into the “do’s and don’t “ would be greatly appreciated...especially during winter when I’m more inclined to wear the tweeds when about and about 👍

Thank you for another excellent video! I remember asking my father why he always carried a pocket square and a handkerchief, his answer was that he would always have a clean one ready for use. One day we came across a distressed lady who had a smut in her eye, my father gallantly dabbed it away with his pocket square, and afterwards said to me “That’s why we always carry a pocket square.”

Great discussion as always Ash! I have found a few pocket square gems at bargain prices in the men’s accessory rack in TK Max. Last one was a silk Gieves and Hawkes silk pocket square for £7.99!

The suit and tie aren’t boring, they are refined, understated, and deliberately intentionally well-dressed. It just looks good together.

Just made a pocket square frame. Excellent tip Ash.

1. Don't be afraid of colour, don't just opt for the plain white. 2. For a start chose a Paisley pattern or polka dots - they go with almost everything. 3. Keep your pocket square simple and plain when wearing bold shirts or ties. 4. First start with your jacket, your shirt, your tie - and then your pocket square. 5. And no, don't match a pocket square exactly to your tie - it just screams "Bargain!".

I agree wholeheartedly, Ash, that the pocket square is an unjustly neglected item in many men's wardrobe, and that it can provide the wearer with an opportunity to demonstrate a bit of whimsy, and provide a splash of colour, in a dress code that is otherwise at least somewhat lacking in flexibility. Whenever I am wearing a blazer, sport coat, or suit, which is most of the time, I wouldn't dream of leaving the house without a pocket square displayed in the breast pocket. -Silk squares with paisley or geometric patterns are my personal favourites, although I will wear pocket squares with polka-dots if the outfit warrants it. I confess that I've never been a fan of the plain white square folded version of this sartorial accessory, as in my part of the world, it is strongly associated with American style and is sometimes even referred to as the "Presidential Fold". As you've pointed out elsewhere, one doesn't have to pay a fortune for pocket squares from designer boutiques and fashion houses. Any swatch of colourful material, from an old shirt, or a pair of curtains, etc., will do the trick. -Some of my favourites have been constructed from old silk blouses made by such labels as Liberty of London that I can sometimes find at thrift shops for a couple of dollars. Sadly, I've found many an excellent jacket at a second hand shop where the stitching in the breast pocket is still intact -indicating that the wearer never utilized this overlooked hero of men's style. I fear that pocket squares are going the way of the Dodo Bird, along with neckties, jackets, suits, dress leather shoes, and most other elements of classic men's style.

I won’t use a pocket square frame because it seems affected and inauthentic, the same as shirt stays that clip from your tails to your trousers or those horseshoe-shaped contraptions that are supposed to keep your shirt collar standing crisp when it’s unbuttoned. I would be chagrined if any such clothing contrivances of mine were revealed to another. IMHO a real chap simply pays attention to the correct size and texture of his pocket squares as well as their colors and patterns, and he deals with any minor inconvenience of slippage with grace, poise, and patience.

Channeling some Connery Bond today! I like the restrained styling, and will myself often rely on the white linen TV fold when in doubt... You are true that even some self proclaimed style experts are turning their backs on the humble square... I like pairing elements of the square with my socks... An unusual take, but it links the top and bottom halves of the outfit and allows some visual interest when it is too hot for a tie, as is often the case in Australia.... Cheers for the great video!
